Window Replacement Reviews in Kansas City

Great interactions with sales, measurement, installation, and office staff. The estimate was the most competitive by more than 10%, and the sales person (
) listened to our well-researched needs & expectations without trying to oversell or needlessly upgrade. Measurements went well, and the installer (
) was knowledgable and friendly. Fortunately,
also measured again before beginning to remove the old windows - and he realized the new windows had been made too tall for the cutout. This would have meant enlarging the opening (trouble - stucco exterior, remember). After consulting with
's management, we decided to re-order the windows and re-schedule the installation rather than try to make modifications. Due to travel and work commitments (not to
) it was 1 month before we tried again. This time the windows fit fine, but the 2 pairs of windows were duplicates rather than mirror images. The left pair (left opening on left, stationary on right) was fine and fit perfectly, but the right pair had the middle (left) window opening to the left (not stationary) and the far right window stationary (not opening to the right). More consultation with management. The right side pair of windows was installed temporarily and a new set ordered. They arrived several weeks later and were installed and the entire project trimmed out with no problems.
and his helpers cleaned up very well inside and outside on each occasion, and were respectful of the neighborhood in parking, noise, etc.
reduced our final price by about $200 from what we originally were quoted to compensate for the delays. Summary: This could have been a horrible experience, but the
people were considerate and appropriately apologetic for the problems. We didn't feel slighted or ignored, and were treated well throughout the process. The end result is what we expected and we are completely satisfied. I have recommended
to others based on the quality product and their willingness to put the customer's needs first. If there is a quick turnaround needed on your project or if you are some one who expects a home improvement project to go perfectly according to plan and on schedule, this may not be the best service for you. If you want a quality project done by good people even if they may occasionally make errors (but who then own up to those mistakes and fix them unasked), I recommend

did an outstanding professional job.
visited the job site, took note of what we wanted, made several great suggestions, took measurements and gave us an estimated time he would be back for the install. He made frequent contact to let us know where he was in the process and arrived and installed on the agreed upon date. The workers went quietly and quickly about their job and completed it as scheduled and the finished product is just what we wanted and expected. They cleaned up and swept up after the job and left the job site as clean if not cleaner then when they started. Great job...Great people...Would definitely recommend them for others and would definitely use their services again.

We met with a representative who was very nice and informative, and actually less pushy than some windows salespersons we had met with. However, after being given a quote we felt strongly encouraged to just purchase right then. We did not, and after getting other quotes,

was more expensive. Further, we could not get actual energy efficiency values from them, and were just told that they were "top of the line" windows, etc.
Notably, we had purchased 4 windows from them about 3 years ago. That purchase and installation went very smoothly, and was a good experience. However, in comparing the R value and other efficiency numbers, American Exterior windows were not as good as the

windows we have now decided on, and were significantly more expensive.

did a remarkable job with the new basement windows and concrete patch around them, though he sealed one window that I hadn't anticipated -- and didn't want sealed, hoping to increase the security. I delayed getting it fixed because I wanted to ask the owner a question about another installation first, but it should be unsealed shortly.

, the owner of the company, had some family matters taking his attention as this latest job progressed. This happens to all of us at some time, but I wish he had delegated some of the responsibility to another employee, so communication could have been handled more efficiently in his absence. In previous work by this company the communication was more timely, so hopefully this will ease soon. In the interest of kindness, I would note that I would rate the responsiveness grade over the five jobs from this company, would raise the responsiveness grade as a B -- but this last job was definitely frustrating in that regard!

did an excellent job. They were nice and respectful. I chose them after getting several quotes because I felt comfortable with them and they also gave an unbeatable price with a lifetime guarantee. The job that I had was fairly complex since the porch was custom built when my Brookside home was originally built. Each of the 4 windows areas that were placed had varying dimensions so he had to get each piece of glass custom built. The only hang up we had is when the factory did not follow his specifications and sent him four windows of all the same size. It took four weeks for the factory to fix this problem, but once that was done, the work actually went by quickly.
The majority of the work was done within a day, when they came back to put the plugs into the windows, they had to do some additional drilling and the jolt of the electric drill ended up breaking two of the glass brows. They quickly reordered the parts and had them replaced free of charge (no

I would definitely use them again for any work, and if anyone is interested, I am willing to post pictures of the work they did.

They called us to set up a date to come out and see the window. My husband had talked extensively to the salesman, who promised us that when they came out, they would remove and reseat the window. They came out--and told us that they would have to make an appointment with an installer to come out and fix the window. That was not what they had promised us on the phone. So, we made an appointment, and they promised, again, that they would take the window out and re-seat it. Instead, they sent out a two guys; one who spoke passable English, and one who appeared to speak no English. The two guys were very polite, but refused to take the window out. They put a bunch more screws in the frame, and said that was all they were instructed to do. The window now slides more easily, but we will not use Champion Windows again.

Excellent. Did exactly as promised. I used this company before about about 10 years ago in another house. So I was familiar with the windows and their work. The only difference this time was related to an apparent

from the EPA (or OSHA) about removing windows that might have lead paint. The salesman made it sound like a big deal and that it was ridiculous that the Government made them take precautions (evil big government comment) but I thought it was great that they were taking precautions (also probably should make evil government comments to someone who is a government employee ;-)). They did a great job. Promised that windows would be cleaned when installed and had to be reminded but they took care of it. I love my new windows!

I wanted this company to redo our bathrooms and all I got was

from them. They couldn't even tell me who the owner of the company was. I went with
Kansas City Window Installers Provider Name Locked
to pick out materials for one bathroom. He was to see if he could find the right material for the countertop and when he found it he was supposed to get back with me. He never called me and when I finally called him he acted as though it was my responsibility to call him and he completely forgot about the countertop. They also have a cupboard door that they were supposed to make four of but still don't know where they are.

We purchased all the items needed, vanity, sink, plumbing fixtures, lights, tile etc all they needed to to was remove old walls replace a sink pipe, small repair to floor by toilet, install new walls, mud and paint, install new celing fan and tile around tub, install new light fixture and switches, install new shower head, towel bars and

vinyl floor, install vanity and sink reinstall toilet.
3 weeks later the walls are up but the tape and mudding are amateurish and several places need to be resanded but they painted, the walls and ceiling were never cut in and the paint is peeling off the walls. Tiling was done 3 times still not right not a single wall is flat, lots of croocked lines and the grouting was and is a nightmare they packed it on like they were building a mud house and have washed major amounts down the drain. So far most plumbing conection leak and not just a drip, water sprays all over and drips into the basement. Ceiling fan in but not all of it works, light switches cut to big for switch plates to cover. The vinyl floor was layed with so much glue it moves under you feet like walking on jello and squishes out in great globs, and their is glue all over the walls, tub and tile along with dirty hand prints.
Only once in all the days did any worker show up on time,

Jaggars will only answer calls if he wants, he is mean and rude to the homeowner to the point of being a bully. He has major problem with his workers and their lack of skills that he tries to make the customer responsible for and has been told to stay off our property and to talk to our lawyer.

I was very happy with both the demonstration by the sales rep, and the installation. The sales person was nice and not at all pushy about the product or upgrading to additional features. I knew what I wanted in the windows, and the upgrades were purely my choice. It was really a demonstration of the product, without any type of sales pitch, which I appreciated. The windows are strong, well-built, and even the screens are very heavy duty - you can't bend the frames on them - even with force. I did several upgrades to the windows I selected, but not because there was anything wrong with the standard window. I wanted the panes because they were on the front of the house. I got the argon gas because the sun beats down in the summer on that side of the house, and that heat doesn't transfer through the gas, which is amazing. I also upgraded the frame of the window because I liked that it had a little more bulk to it. I am confident it wasn't necessary, but I wanted the best on these windows because they are on the second story, and it is harder to cool in the summer.
The installation was great. The installer was professional, and took time to do the job right. I didn't feel like he was there to just slap them in and leave. I could tell he was conscientious about doing a good job, and the windows look beautiful! It couldn't have gone better, and I am glad to have someone doing work in my home that has pride in their work! It is hard to find that these days. He was very nice and I really feel like I got my moneys worth with the installation job.
I couldn't be more pleased with the experience. I will be back next year for more windows!!
