"I have been a number of times. From entering the office to being taken back I have been treated with courtesy and on time. Making convenient appointments is easy.

"My Pulmonologist set me up with this company after I relocated to Tucson from Florida. Bringing me my equipment and a request for supplies was exemplary. Then a" few months later. A lady rushed me through a bunch of paperwork, telling me the new name of the company was S.T.A.R.S. This was the last I heard from them. I've had some non-related health problems and 2 major surgeries over the past couple of years, and relocated to another local address. I recently contacted this company because I had been very sick and had to use the straight 02 canister that I had to use for emergency therapy. I also had run out of supplies, and my oxygen concentrators had never been serviced. The woman I spoke to,
- STARS tried to turn the tables on me, She BLAMED ME FOR the company NOT SERVICING my equipment. She CLAIMED THEY had BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT ME, AND I WAS GONE WITH NO FORWARDING ADDRESS. That they had put a few doortags on my apartment door. She said my doctor DIDN’T KNOW WHERE I WAS, and that THEY CALLED MY SISTER AND DAUGHTER TO NO AVAIL, trying to find me and they were about to write off my equipment This is so ridiculous I hardly know where to start!! Yes, I moved across town and had to get a different pulmonologist because mine moved hospitals. I had my mail forwarded immediately. Long story short..This woman was trying to put their incompetence and laziness as my supplier into my lap. SHE SUPPOSEDLY TRANSFERRED ME TO HER SUPERVISOR..I WAS CUT OFF. THEN SHE TOLD ME THAT HER SUPERVISOR HAD LEFT FOR THE DAY, AND I WOULD RECEIVE A CALL FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. THEY NEVER FOLLOWED UP. NO ONE EVER CALLED ME. SAID IT WAS “CONVENIENT” THAT I WAS CALLING NOW, SINCE I “NEEDED” SOMETHING I have a chronic
disease. I don't need the added stress of these unprofessionals trying to blame me for not doing their job.

The man was giving his briefing to his nurses and I've never been asked to
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
my personal information but he was just spilling out all of my personal details in my file. He has no respect for anyone else’s time. You always focus on the positive but he just takes hope away and tells me all the things I'm doing wrong. I'm in the medical world as well and you do not judge others but he does.

We set an appt that he didn't keep. Refused to do blood work more than once a week as requested by family doctor. Proclaimed out loud that he did this and that... Outright
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
as the nurses did it all. We were told when checked in that we would see the doctor every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. That's not happening. Poor communication skills and lack follow through can be downrigt dangerous!

I have been seeing the doctor for about 1 year. He has a wonderful bedside manner and I immediately felt comfortable with him. He is an extremely competent doctor and trained at
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
. He pretty much assessed where I was at just by talking with me and backed up his opinion with a sleep study. They have a great facility and it feels like a spa. He has a great sleep technician who makes you feel as comfortable as possible. If I ever have any problems with my sleep apnea machine they have an advocate I can easily reach for help. I have had no problem at all with scheduling.

Technician the first time got rough pulling off the prongs in the morning, kind of hurt but that's OK. The main problem is billing. I have very good insurance but watch out: they are very careful not to explain the payment terms ahead of time. I would never have signed up if they had disclosed the terms, if you don't use the machine more than 70% of the time you end up tricked into a year long payment plan. They don't tell you until you are already in the plan, between you and your insurance company it ends up costing many thousands for what is basically a fancy air pump. They also have set up a "separate business" (quotes) for billing of equipment which happens to use the same website etc., Advanced Health Services.

I contacted SMA on
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
23 and was told that to make an appointment with a new physician, I would have to get a "transfer of care" from Dr.
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
who has left the association to set up his own practice.
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
agreed to start the paperwork and let me know when it came it.
I called today and was told that they just got the paperwork. However, the president of SMA--Dr
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
--reviewed it and I was told that they would not take me on as a patient. I was disappointed but given that I have medical insurance and pay my medical bills promptly, I assume that they must be concerned about some sort of lawsuit if they accept me as a patient. But that is just a guess since one of the most annoying aspects of this is that they would not tell me WHY they wouldn't accept me as a patient.
When I talked to them in December they implied that they had accepted a transfer for at least one other patient since Dr.
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
left. And if they knew then that they were not going to accept the transfer then why didn't they tell me so I could start looking for some other sleep doctor right then rather than wasting a month of my time?
Maybe this is a one time situation but maybe there are underlying problems with
Kansas City Sleep Clinics Provider Name Locked
. I certainly don't know but I do urge caution to any Angie's List viewers who are considering using these doctors! One reason I chose a doctor at SMA originally was that I though having multiple physicians in the practice meant I would have continuity of care if something happened to one physician. Obviously I was mistaken!

Staff is rude, and if you call and ask questions they hang up on you. They transfer you from one person to the other, and you can never get the answers you need.

We have been waiting over 4 days to get an order straightened out, and it still has yet to happen.

It has just been a very unprofessional and very frustrating experience every time we deal with this clinic.

I have been seeing the doctor for about 1 year and my husband has been seeing him for about 3 years. He is very knowledgeable and caring. My husband visited for sleep apnea and the doctor has helped significantly with that. The doctor heard something in my husband’s chest and was able to save his life. He is a very well respected doctor in the area and is a superb doctor. I feel very lucky to have him as a doctor. The few nurses I have seen are very nice and scheduling is easy. I do not have to wait long to be seen.

As a sleep doctor, she is competent. Her staff is disorganized and sometimes unhelpful or uninformed. When she tried to explain the benefits of the special necklace she wore, and its many healing properties, she lost me. Her diet advice, not asked for, was not good, according to my doctor. All in all, just too weird for me.
