"The xray showed mild arthritis in the toe joint and a small heel spur on the right foot, which the doctor said was not too significant at this point. Another person (a nurse, I guess) came in after the doctor to show me custom orthodics. She said that if my insurance would pay for them, they would be billed at about $500 but if I had to pay out-of-pocket, they would bill me about $300. She also showed me some over the counter orthodics for about $60, if I remember correctly. Because of considerable previous experimentation, I already had a pair of over-the-counter shoe inserts from Walmart that were helping comfortable, so I declined to buy the orthics. They also gave me a sheet with exercises to try.

Later, on my own, I searched the Internet and discovered that many people get help with plantar fasciitis by sleeping with a brace on the ankle that holds the foot at a right angle. I found one of these at a local drugstore for about $30, and it seems to be helping. I do wonder why such an ankle brace was not discussed by the doctor.

"I went to Dr. Korges based on a positive review I found on Angie's list. She correctly diagnosed the problem (bone spur little toe), performed the surgery on an outpatient basis and I was soon back to normal. Very personable and communicated with me in great detail. The staff at her office and clinic were helpful, explained the costs beforehand, and made my treatment as painless as possible. "

"I have had general physicians do ingrown toenail work in the past and found it to be painful and slow to recover. Dr
Kansas City Podiatrists Provider Name Locked
does multiple procedures like this one daily and explains exactly what needs to be done, completes the procedure quickly and requires a one week follow up. Absolutely the best."

"I completed the "first patient" paperwork upon getting to the office (although I could have gotten them online and had them filled out in advance). The office and the receptionist are pleasant. The receptionist took my photo for their file. An assistant spoke with me and took x-rays, then I waited in the exam room several minutes until the doctor came in to review the x-rays, examine my feet, ask me about my symptoms, and discuss my diagnosis. He was very thorough with his explanation and did not seem to be in a hurry (most doctors are in such a big rush that they don't seem to have time for my questions). I was considering orthotics and wondered what my insurance covers, the office manager contacted my insurance and then came in the exam room to explain how much deductible I had left to spend and what would likely be covered, etc. I decided to go ahead & order the orthotics and so they brought in a foam "mold" that the doctor pushed my foot into 2 weeks later the orthotics were in and I scheduled a fitting. I went in and the assistant cut the insoles to fit my shoes. Then the doctor came in and had her cut a little more. He told me the orthotics will change the way my foot functions and so my whole body will need some adjustment time; he told me how to break in the orthotics, he answered my questions and welcomed me to call him if I had any more questions. I scheduled a 1-month follow-up."
