"We had
and Bath do the remodel of our master bathroom in January. We were so happy with the work that they had done on the bathroom that" there was no question who we were going to use to update the kitchen. The initial consultation took place in April and the job was booked in June. The cabinets were 17 years old and showing it, the counter tops were white
, and the back splash was plain white tiles. We discussed the pros and cons of replacing or refinishing the cabinets with our project manager. Additionally, we asked for guidance on what to do with the box lighting and placement of the microwave. The project manager suggested that we install under cabinet lighting to highlight the back splash and counter tops as well as bringing more light to the work areas. We were given advice that made the project a success. We made several trips to the Tile Store looking for inspiration for the back splash and settled on a natural stone. Additionally, we traveled between the Tile Store and Top Masters to get a better idea how the tile we were considering would look next to the granite we were considering. Work started on August 18 with the removal of the counter tops, sink, and removal of the back splash. The
& Bath (MK&B) workers covered the hard wood flooring with cardboard and installed a plastic wall at the end of the kitchen to contain the dust from the demolition. Top Masters came in to measure for the new granite counter tops. While waiting for the granite, the workers installed the under cabinet lighting, repainted the light box, and prepared the surface for the new back splash. Once Top Masters had installed the new granite the MK&B workers reconnected the sink and installed the new faucet that we had selected. Per design, there was one seam in the granite cabinet. The Top Masters installer was justifiably proud of the scant seam. Unfortunately I did not like the light epoxy color which seemed to emphasize the seam. MK&B's installer
agreed with me and contacted Top Masters on our behalf. We also made one change which affected Top Masters. We originally had planned on a stand alone

looked at our granite and back splash samples and suggested a paint color that was spot on correct. Her advice was a welcome "freebie" and generated goodwill. We're very happy with the color. The cabinet work began in mid October. They removed the doors and drawers and took them with them to remove the old hardware, clean them, and glaze them. They came back and spent three days doing the frames and sides of the cabinets. Two days later they returned and rehung the doors with the new hardware and put the drawers back in. The final day nearly ended on its head when we opened the boxes and found that we were shipped the wrong color hardware. Cabinet ReStyling & Custom Painted Furniture got on the phone to coordinate with MK&B and jumped in their car to go pick up the correct hardware to finish the job on time. With the completion of the cabinet glazing the kitchen remodel project was completed and we now have a kitchen with a big WOW factor.

kept in touch and" answered our questions from the bid process until the work was finished. The work performed included sanding, staining and coating the floors; and buffing and coating some of the floors. They arrived on time, took care to match existing finishes, and cleaned up when they left. The entire crew was courteous, friendly and professional. We had one problem with the work, but
and his crew came the next day to correct the error. Our floors look very good and I would use this company again and recommend it to my friends.

From the wall street journal online:

"Etiquette and tipping experts agree that tipping a contractor and his employees isn't expected because contractors offer to do a job for you at a specific price. Any extra money they would want would be built into their bid. Also, it's a business relationship rather than one where they are performing a personal service for you like a waiter or a maid. But if the employees do extra jobs around the house, then experts say it is appropriate to tip a cash amount equivalent to the task; "tip gifts" such as cookies and drinks can count. "The key to tipping is whether or not it was outside the scope of what was normally expected," says Mark Brenner, author of "Tipping for Success!"

My opinion is that a little bit of courtesy (snacks, drinks, expression of appreciation etc.) goes a long way and upon completion of their work you feel compelled by a job well done to offer a little extra in the form of a tip - go for it, but do not feel obligated.
I agree with your choice - this is about the only product that can realistically, for a large room, be taken out and cleaned up after a flood and reused, thouhg carpet can be if you strip it into smaller pieces to carry wet, AND you have somewhere to wash and dry it - that is usually the problem. However, bear in mind it still has to be done within about 2 days or mildew/mold will grow on it, and may or may not be totally removeable. My personal preferences - mostly because their products are consistent, the joints stay snapped together, and they are not overly soft (a problem with cheap vinyls) are Pergo, Tarkett, Armstrong. Whatever you buy, be sure it can come back apart - some plank products are not made with a self-adhering contact glue in the joints that prevent you from taking it apart again, and some brands their snap design, while maybe better at preventing joint separation, cannot feasibly be unsnapped without tearing or breaking it off. Also, be sure whatever brandname and product line you choose it 100% vinyl (other than the urethane surface protective layer) - many vinyl floor products have paper or fiber cores or other water-absorbing components. Remember that, on concrete, since it wicks soil moisture through it, you till need a 6 mil vapor barrier under the flooring and positively sealed all around the edges to avoid the risk of mold growing on the underside of the vinyl.
Agreed.  If you have existing cracking in porcelain you need to know the cause first.  I don't know of any reputable contractor that would dare install tile over existing tile.  Also, any manufacturer warranties for defects would be null due to improper installation.  Did the contractor offer this solution or did you ask for it?  The mear fact that he is agreeing to or offering it tells me you need to leave this guy for someone who knows what they are talking about before he does only half the job which will have to be redone in the near future, costing you more in the long run.

I get so many calls from customers that were talked into a "cheaper" way to do something only to find the work very sub-par.  The sad part is they are out the money they spent in the first place along with the additional amount I have to charge just to undo what the first contractor did before I can do it right.  This floor could end up costing you double what it should if it's not done right.

Flooring reviews in Kansas City

We had made the appointment for 8 am however at 8:30 I received a call from the contractor saying he did not realize the appointment time was for 8 am since appointments are usually scheduled for 9 am. He apologized and said he would be there at 9 am. He was very nice about it and he showed up at 9 am, maybe even a few minutes before. Once he looked everything over he decided the job would run more smoothly with a second person. That way, he knew the job could be finished in one day thereby ensuring I would not have to take another day off work. Also by having a second person, the total number of billed hours would be fewer because of the time that would be saved by not having to repeatedly crawl up into the attic and then go back down to the bathroom. Two people allowed one person to work up in the attic while the other stayed down in the bathroom. I very much appreciated that the worker took these things into consideration. They were super nice and helpful and told me what they would be doing. They protected the hardwood floors with drop cloths and cleaned up after themselves and just did a great job. The fan works really well and I am 100% percent satisfied with the service I received. I know people have indicated the cost for this group is high but their work ethic is great and that is hard to put a price on. After finishing the job the contractor even took two minutes to take a look at my bathroom sink because it was draining slowly. I had already cleaned out the p-trap so I knew that was clear. He raised the level of the stopper and it drains just a bit faster now. Awesome!

The job was completed a day and a half earlier than anticipated which was great.

It was fantastic.
Kansas City Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was a pleasure to work with. His bid was better than 2 others, and he explained the process all the way to completion. A few things came up during installation that he fixed from our existing floor, and he stuck with his original bid. I would highly recommend this company. After having issues with some other contractors, it was very refreshing!!

I paid this company

" to provide a nice

floor coating. All I wanted was a nice

garage floor for my 30x40 shop. I had two other bids for $3500,
Kansas City Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
provided me with an estimate for $5000. I trusted him and what he had to say. I also trusted the reviews others posted on Google, Angies list and
Kansas City Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
where he buys his product. But most of all I trusted the hand shake that
Kansas City Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
gave me. Everything went smooth until the floor started pealing up after the first car parked in on the floor two weeks after the floor was completed.
The unfortunate thing for me is he has promised and promised and promised to come fix his failed floor. My wife and I have both waited and he never shows up. He has a lot of excuses. Instead of excuses just be honest and do what you say you are going to do. Hey life is not perfect, and people will understand but don't just leave customers hanging in the wind. People are understanding when things come up, but to not to show up and not to call that's just bad business.
The facts are
Kansas City Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked

really wants to be a business owner, but doesn't want to take care of his business when an accident occurs. Its not the end of the world when something goes wrong. Heck no one is perfect, just take care of your customers.
The fact is a customer that has a bad experience will tell everyone, a customer that has a great experience will tell one person. This is a fact. All I wanted was him to do the right thing.

Overall it went well but 3 days to do floors actually turned into 5 with weekend and can't go in on the 3rd day. The actual team did not speak english well but the receptionist/admin called me to discuss things when they had questions.
Kansas City Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was very prompt and easy to get ahold of when I needed the quote and then disappeared when I had questions or issues. I would call him and then his admin would return my call which is so unprofessional. I stopped calling after a while. Other the the communication issues I am very happy with the work they did.
- Lori E.

They responded to our initial call quickly, and gave us a written estimate and explained every step in the process. They came on schedule, and worked quickly and cleanly. We were impressed by the two workers who took time to explain what they were doing and how to take care of the floor. They took time to get a good color match. It looks great and we are very pleased. We do not hesitate in recommending them.

The salesman was well informed and provided options, pros, and cons for the project. The carpet installer moved the furniture with little effort, removed the old carpet, installed the padding and new carpet in my office (12' x 12') in short period of time. The completed carpet project was high quality & gorgeous. There were a few more challenges with the laminate wood for my connecting exercise room, in that, (1) it was scheduled for one day but was rescheduled twice due to the contractor crews being busy with other jobs, and (2) having an issue with transitional pieces for the laminate connecting the office carpet and another room which had ceramic tile.
Kansas City Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
representatives kept me informed about the delays and provided me a discount for the delays. The laminate contractor worked with me to get the issue with the transitional pieces resolved. The completed laminate project is beautiful and I am very satisfied.
- Patricia B.

I would highly recommend this company. They're a small company who's been in business for a very, very long time.
hey are personable, no matter what size your job is. They were quick to give me an estimate (very reasonable) for the whole house, but we elected to do partial wall-to-wall and some area rugs to match. Because of the time crunch for a wedding shower, they even took the carpet pieces for the rugs in and had them bound. So the day of the install, everything was done. No cleanup needed on our part. We could concentrate on the wedding shower! We love the carpet!
