"Arrived on the date agreed to made the cabinets exactly to my specification and fit it perfectly into the space required. It was perfectly made to match my existing cabinets and he" matched the color exactly. He cut the trim and figured out how to blend the cabinet in with the existing cabinets so that it fits perfectly. I am very happy with the job it was done to perfection. Would recomend his work and will use him again on any custom cabinet projects that we need.

"They came and did the walk through.
was wonderful! She had suggestions and listened to what we wanted. They said they would call us and make arrangements to" come into the show room within about two weeks to see the drawings and what they had to offer. We never heard from them and in the mean time Angie's list called us about the service and then they followed up with CabinetClad. Come to find out they had been trying to reach us through mail and phone calls but our phone number was wrong. We finally got in touch made an appointment and it was great!

"Everything went well - in spite of
having to break his installation into 2 segments due to another contractor's work not being completed in time. The" installation is perfect to every detail, esp considering the adjustments he had to make on site (referred to above). I love my cabinets!
is knowledgeable and smart about this. He tweaked my ideas, gave great suggestions, educated me about cabinet making, and ultimately built them perfectly. He was incredibly patient with me as we worked through my ideas, and his suggestions to eventually find the right compromise that could be properly built and fit the space. He handled everything professionally. Word of advice to potential clients --- listen to his ideas very carefully. He's the expert. I got so hung up on certain things I thought I needed or wanted that he didn't think were necessary or the best ideas that I couldn't see his perspective. In the end, however, all is wonderful, because ultimately, he won't agree to build something that won't fit your space, or won't allow for proper, solid professional construction, function and beauty. So ask your questions and give your ideas, but also listen to his ideas. I would hire him again in a second! His pricing was very fair and better than any big box store price you'll get if you compare the real value: costume fit to your space, made in your style, no wasted filler spaces, custom finish, and onsite modification to make sure everything installs perfectly and then perfect installation.
is fair, honest, dependable, and nice. He takes great pride in his reputation for excellence. ALSO -- he does complete remodeling jobs, which means just about any facet of work including electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc can be handled by him (he built his own house). If you're considering a job that includes more than just woodworking, I'd talk to
about doing it all. We'd already lined up our general contractor before I knew he did all these other things, so we only hired him for the cabinets and lighting.

Not really.  If the contractor is very careful and you are really lucky he might be able to pull them out and then reinstall them after the new cabinets are installed.  A lot of this will have to do with how well the counters were installed in the first place.  Also, the existing countertops may not line up with the new cabinets exactly in some areas as well as they do now.  The better option is to have the cabinets refaced, leaving the boxes and tops in place.  Unlless you have deteriorating particle board cabinets you should be able to get a carpenter to do this.  If you decide to remove the countertops and install new cabinets factor in new tops and be pleasantly surprised if they can be reinstalled afterall.  Realize you probably won't find a contractor willing to gurantee not damaging the tops.  If you do, dig in and research him well.  He likely doesn't have enough experience.

IF dirty enough to make for a musty odor, then paint won't stick to them properly anyway. Paint is not your solution - you probably need a Deep Cleaning. Try to pin down what types of smell it is - if damp, mildewy; rotten food; or musty fabric - will help guide you to the source maybe. Another thing to do is keep all doors closed for a full day when outside temp is such that furnace and A/C can be turned off - then walk around the house, sniffing - preferably with 2 people - and see if one room is the major contributor. I have played this game, and found all the following as sources of musty smells: 1) linen in a closet without ventilation going slightly mildewy 2) water leak in walls or floors enough to cause mold but not drywall staining or visible water 3) carpets needing cleaning 4) water leak in bath or kitchen leaking under floor, causing mold there which is not pronounced in smell because under the flooring 5) attic mildew/mold from leaks or moisture condensation on insulation/wood 6) moldy plants outside - left in garden/flower bed in fall, so rotted in winter/spring 7) clothes in closets touching outside wall, so in very cold weather acted as insulator and let freezing front come to inside of wall, causing frost and moisture to buildup there from the inside moisture, eventually causing mildew/mold (same process as condensation/ice on inside of windows with curtains over them) 8) failure to clean behind kitchen appliances and under sink, or under washer/dryer/dishwasher at least when repaired or changed out 9) heavy lint accumulation in bathroom fan going mildewy 10) grease trap in kitchen exhaust fan never cleaned 11) washing machine going moldy - run a cycle of towels or such with bleach and Borax 12) the number one cause I have found - clothes stacked in closets or hope chests or such for decades get very musty even if clean and ventilated

As long as the counter is big enough Corian is one of the easier ones to work with. Since it does not have the ground or crushed stone that some of the other material have you can work with normal woodworking tools. A saw with a fine tooth carbide blade and a professional grade router with the proper shaped carbde bit can be used if the edge needs finishing. A belt sander helps on cuts also. The only problem you might have is if you need the joint kits for seaming as I dont think you can buy them.

When Corian first came out I could buy the slabs and fabricate my own tops and then Dupont went to a certified distributor system and would no longer sell to those of us that had been working with it for years. I will admit that they did have reasons for this as not all that were working with the product were doing it right.

We had visited the the big box stores, cabinet manufactures and had got some estimates from another high end supplier but were not convinced of whom to use, most of them could not provide everything that we required. We would need a lot of subcontractors to get everything done. I had worked in a cabinet shop so i know the building processes, woods and quality of work. I found
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
listed in the phone book with an address and phone number. I decided to visit his shop on a Saturday to see his shop and discuss our project. He has a great shop with all the necessary tooling and finish area to get a quality job done correctly and efficiently. He provided us with a file of photographs from previous jobs and a list of references to call and we called them. We also visited one of the references to inspect his work. His work is outstanding and his references were all very positive. Amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail!
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was always ready to tackle any of our remodeling issues with skill and accuracy, often making our plans work where they seemed impossible or suggesting a better design or plan that was perfect for our home. Our choice of cabinet finish was an antique white with gazing details-much harder to achieve than a normal wood finish. He accomplished this perfectly. He built new cabinets for our kitchen and refaced one base cabinet. his special detail included a floor to ceiling pull out pantry and under counter large mixer storage with a spring loaded lift to bring the mixer to counter top level. A man of many talents, ( not just cabinetwork ) he installed under counter

lighting, spectacular ! He also installed many

ceiling lights in our kitchen and family room. A wall was removed to bring our family room and kitchen into one large open area. Also an entryway was relocated to accommodate our new refrigerator. Removing the wall between the kitchen and family room necessitated even more wiring and moving of electrical outlets and switches. All this was done with great care and ease.
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
installed hardwood flooring throughout the kitchen and family room area plus a stairway going to the garage. Our friends and family say it is the most beautiful floor they have ever seen!

painted the kitchen walls and removed the 1970's popcorn ceiling finish in the kitchen and family room, and installed a knockdown finish. Another project he handled with ease and perfection. He installed all of our new appliances and plumbing for the sink and faucet. He also installed a new gas line for our new gas range top.The granite counter tops he provided and installed are the highlight of our kitchen-along with his artistic work on the natural stone on the walls behind the sink and range top.
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is very skilled in many areas of construction which makes for one stop shopping for any remodeling project. No waiting for or worrying about quality of sub contractors. We are also having

replace our circuit breaker panel witch has caused us problems.
We would be happy to recommend

for any remodeling project.

, our designer, met with us and spent hours taking measurements, drawing plans, and presenting all the samples of wood, tile, granite, lighting, faucets, and appliances. He listened to all our ideas before showing us anything. The project manager called to arrange a time for our project, and told us when the workers would arrive to begin the overhaul. They were very friendly, careful, and provided answers to all our questions. The whole project took about a week more than we expected because of the waiting time for our counter tops to be custom made. That week was well-spent for the quality of workmanship and products they supplied. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen - except now we want to remodel the whole house!!

, the principal, came across as a very knowledgeable carpenter and cabinetmaker. He was very detail oriented - a little bit too detail oriented for me - and made the bid process a little tedious. It dragged on longer than it needed to, especially because I already had the design and measurements. Another company was able to give me the estimate pretty quickly. I have nothing against
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, and I have no doubt that it would have been good work, but it was just a little painful to get through the bid process. The estimated price was $5000. I would probably not contact them in the future.

The cabinets were completed & installed and looked good except for some crooked/warped drawer fronts and the finish on the wall unit which had gotten stuff in it or bubbled. They redid the finish and it's great and tried to adjust but couldn't do much about the drawer fronts. There was no offer to fix this and I thought if that's all that's wrong, I can overlook it. My remodel contractor came to put on the top and discovered the cabinet was 1" too deep (ordered the standard 21" and it was 22"), so the top didn't overhang as it should to protect the drawers and doors. He called
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, who came, took out the cabinet, tore off the back on-site, rigged it with thinner pieces of wood so the back of the drawer glides would have something to attach to and reinstalled it. Then the top was re-attached. I was not able to be present for any of this and didn't see it till the next morning. It was very crooked (obvious next to the floor tile lines) and quite out of level- one end of the cabinet was on the floor tile and the other was behind the tile on the sub floor. I had everyone come back and uninstall everything, at which time I could see how badly mangled the back of the cabinet was after they "fixed" the depth (which was now 21" deep on one end and 20.5" on the other). I asked them to rebuild it from scratch as this was not the quality construction I contracted and paid for, nor for which
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is known. She did so, working through over the weekend and it was reinstalled the next week. Now paranoid, I measured it to find it had also been made ~ 3/4" too short. It never occurred to me that I would have to double check every step of work. That wasn't fixable without starting over yet again and further delaying the job, so that's what I have. Also, all (or most) of the drawers were reused - which is good ecologically, but not when they're warped, so we still have 3 that don't quite close flush to the face frame, plus the center deco panel in front of the sink now tilts in the opposite direction of the warped drawer beside it, accenting the problem visually. I asked for a price adjustment for all these mistakes but
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
refused, saying 1) she'd already given me a reduced original price (which put it in line with other bids I'd received) and 2) mostly, because she wasn't making anything on this project due to having to rebuild the cabinet, which of course was their fault. At a glace, everything looks really nice, but due to all that happened, I can't honestly give this experience higher than a "C = fair" rating.

I called to get an estimate for the work and
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was able to come the next day. She looked at the project, said it would be no problem, would run ~$150 but would work up a more precise bid. She thought she could do the work within the next 2 weeks. I waited 2 days for a return call from her with the real price and an exact date, but didn't get one. When I called, she was still working on the estimate, but could do the work the following Thursday.
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
and an assistance arrived early. They quickly and easily lengthened the size of the existing "hole". They took the drawer with them to shorten and came back out that afternoon to install it. The opening was to the exact specifications for the new oven. The drawer looks like it was an original one and works smoothly. I was very pleased with the work and have asked her to draw up some specs for a cabinet I want in the basement.
