"Everything went well - in spite of
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
having to break his installation into 2 segments due to another contractor's work not being completed in time. The installation is perfect to every detail, esp considering the adjustments he had to make on site (referred to above). I love my cabinets!
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is knowledgeable and smart about this. He tweaked my ideas, gave great suggestions, educated me about cabinet making, and ultimately built them perfectly. He was incredibly patient with me as we worked through my ideas, and his suggestions to eventually find the right compromise that could be properly built and fit the space. He handled everything professionally. Word of advice to potential clients --- listen to his ideas very carefully. He's the expert. I got so hung up on certain things I thought I needed or wanted that he didn't think were necessary or the best ideas that I couldn't see his perspective. In the end, however, all is wonderful, because ultimately, he won't agree to build something that won't fit your space, or won't allow for proper, solid professional construction, function and beauty. So ask your questions and give your ideas, but also listen to his ideas. I would hire him again in a second! His pricing was very fair and better than any big box store price you'll get if you compare the real value: costume fit to your space, made in your style, no wasted filler spaces, custom finish, and onsite modification to make sure everything installs perfectly and then perfect installation.

is fair, honest, dependable, and nice. He takes great pride in his reputation for excellence.
ALSO -- he does complete remodeling jobs, which means just about any facet of work including electrical, plumbing, flooring, etc can be handled by him (he built his own house). If you're considering a job that includes more than just woodworking, I'd talk to
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
about doing it all. We'd already lined up our general contractor before I knew he did all these other things, so we only hired him for the cabinets and lighting.

"We had visited the the big box stores, cabinet manufactures and had got some estimates from another high end supplier but were not convinced of whom to use, most of them could not provide everything that we required. We would need a lot of subcontractors to get everything done. I had worked in a cabinet shop so i know the building processes, woods and quality of work. I found

listed in the phone book with an address and phone number. I decided to visit his shop on a Saturday to see his shop and discuss our project. He has a great shop with all the necessary tooling and finish area to get a quality job done correctly and efficiently. He provided us with a file of photographs from previous jobs and a list of references to call and we called them. We also visited one of the references to inspect his work. His work is outstanding and his references were all very positive. Amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail!

was always ready to tackle any of our remodeling issues with skill and accuracy, often making our plans work where they seemed impossible or suggesting a better design or plan that was perfect for our home. Our choice of cabinet finish was an antique white with gazing details-much harder to achieve than a normal wood finish. He accomplished this perfectly. He built new cabinets for our kitchen and refaced one base cabinet. his special detail included a floor to ceiling pull out pantry and under counter large mixer storage with a spring loaded lift to bring the mixer to counter top level. A man of many talents, ( not just cabinetwork ) he installed under counter

lighting, spectacular ! He also installed many

ceiling lights in our kitchen and family room. A wall was removed to bring our family room and kitchen into one large open area. Also an entryway was relocated to accommodate our new refrigerator. Removing the wall between the kitchen and family room necessitated even more wiring and moving of electrical outlets and switches. All this was done with great care and ease.

installed hardwood flooring throughout the kitchen and family room area plus a stairway going to the garage. Our friends and family say it is the most beautiful floor they have ever seen!

painted the kitchen walls and removed the 1970's popcorn ceiling finish in the kitchen and family room, and installed a knockdown finish. Another project he handled with ease and perfection. He installed all of our new appliances and plumbing for the sink and faucet. He also installed a new gas line for our new gas range top.The granite counter tops he provided and installed are the highlight of our kitchen-along with his artistic work on the natural stone on the walls behind the sink and range top.

, our designer, met with us and spent hours taking measurements, drawing plans, and presenting all the samples of wood, tile, granite, lighting, faucets, and appliances. He listened to all our ideas before showing us anything. The project manager called to arrange a time for our project, and told us when the workers would arrive to begin the overhaul. They were very friendly, careful, and provided answers to all our questions. The whole project took about a week more than we expected because of the waiting time for our counter tops to be custom made. That week was well-spent for the quality of workmanship and products they supplied. We couldn't be happier with our new kitchen - except now we want to remodel the whole house!!"

, the principal, came across as a very knowledgeable carpenter and cabinetmaker. He was very detail oriented - a little bit too detail oriented for me - and made the bid process a little tedious. It dragged on longer than it needed to, especially because I already had the design and measurements. Another company was able to give me the estimate pretty quickly. I have nothing against

, and I have no doubt that it would have been good work, but it was just a little painful to get through the bid process. The estimated price was $5000. I would probably not contact them in the future.

"The cabinets were completed & installed and looked good except for some crooked/warped drawer fronts and the finish on the wall unit which had gotten stuff in it or bubbled. They redid the finish and it's great and tried to adjust but couldn't do much about the drawer fronts. There was no offer to fix this and I thought if that's all that's wrong, I can overlook it. My remodel contractor came to put on the top and discovered the cabinet was 1" too deep (ordered the standard 21" and it was 22"), so the top didn't overhang as it should to protect the drawers and doors. He called
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
, who came, took out the cabinet, tore off the back on-site, rigged it with thinner pieces of wood so the back of the drawer glides would have something to attach to and reinstalled it. Then the top was re-attached. I was not able to be present for any of this and didn't see it till the next morning. It was very crooked (obvious next to the floor tile lines) and quite out of level- one end of the cabinet was on the floor tile and the other was behind the tile on the sub floor. I had everyone come back and uninstall everything, at which time I could see how badly mangled the back of the cabinet was after they "fixed" the depth (which was now 21" deep on one end and 20.5" on the other). I asked them to rebuild it from scratch as this was not the quality construction I contracted and paid for, nor for which

is known. She did so, working through over the weekend and it was reinstalled the next week. Now paranoid, I measured it to find it had also been made ~ 3/4" too short. It never occurred to me that I would have to double check every step of work. That wasn't fixable without starting over yet again and further delaying the job, so that's what I have. Also, all (or most) of the drawers were reused - which is good ecologically, but not when they're warped, so we still have 3 that don't quite close flush to the face frame, plus the center deco panel in front of the sink now tilts in the opposite direction of the warped drawer beside it, accenting the problem visually. I asked for a price adjustment for all these mistakes but
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
refused, saying 1) she'd already given me a reduced original price (which put it in line with other bids I'd received) and 2) mostly, because she wasn't making anything on this project due to having to rebuild the cabinet, which of course was their fault. At a glace, everything looks really nice, but due to all that happened, I can't honestly give this experience higher than a "C = fair" rating.

"I called to get an estimate for the work and
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was able to come the next day. She looked at the project, said it would be no problem, would run ~$150 but would work up a more precise bid. She thought she could do the work within the next 2 weeks. I waited 2 days for a return call from her with the real price and an exact date, but didn't get one. When I called, she was still working on the estimate, but could do the work the following Thursday.

and an assistance arrived early. They quickly and easily lengthened the size of the existing "hole". They took the drawer with them to shorten and came back out that afternoon to install it. The opening was to the exact specifications for the new oven. The drawer looks like it was an original one and works smoothly. I was very pleased with the work and have asked her to draw up some specs for a cabinet I want in the basement.

"I just took a picture of the space, also of the existing cabinets and took some measurements, then I emailed everything to

"Its been over a month since
Kansas City Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
came to our house to give us a bid. He told us that he would get us a bid in the following week. When I didn't hear from him for a couple of weeks, I called him back. He apologized and said that he was really busy, but that he would get us our estimate in about 4 days. It's now been a couple more weeks. After 1 month, we still don't have a bid. He seemed very nice and professional, but now appears to be just another contractor who makes promises that he can't or won't keep. At this point, it is very unlikely that I will use this company."

. He does all the work mainly by himself and has lots of customers, so plan ahead! He was punctual, clean, professional, articulate, and knowledgeable. When he arrived he had already planned which project to work on first and how to get it done. He cleaned up the area when finished, removed all the trash and carried the old sink outside for us. The fence/gate project looked great. Again, he left the area clean."
