Towing Reviews in Kansas City

Almighty Towing came to our house through AAA to tow a car to our mechanic. The first truck driver went off of our driveway while trying to back his truck down, effectively destroying part of our lawn and driveway. The first truck driver had to get towed out by another driver who reprimanded his inability to stay on the road. We were told that the company would repair our driveway. When a senior member of the company came to our home, he tried to say it was the condition of our driveway that caused his driver to drive off. (This is the same driveway we have had since 2009 when we moved in, and we have never had issues driving up or down it.) We are currently trying to get Almightly Towing to respond to our phone calls and make good on its stated intention to repair our drive. No repairs have been made, but the estimate we received for repair of the damage caused by the driver was $2500.

All the details included above. I did note that the services were not performed because the call was for a jump start and possible tow and the driver left before he knew if the car would run or would need a tow. He pulled off before I reached half a block after assurances the car would reach the target destination without needing a tow. Date of service was actually the date the review was completed, not the actual date of service which was two or three weeks before.

Towing reviews in Kansas City

My car developed a serious mechanical problem on a Friday night. Years before, my insurance man had told me "If you ever need a tow truck, get

." I remembered that and called

because I didn't want to get gouged. They were very professional and showed up with a dolly truck, which was necessary because it's a hybrid and turning the wheels will generate electricity. I think. Anyway, they towed it to the dealer (I knew what the problem was...the hybrid battery had finally given out after 11 years of faithful service) They took the key and put it in the night drop box at the dealer, so I didn't have to accompany them to the dealer. Everything went super-smoothly.

They were the quickest I could get, car stalled out at a stop sign. They stopped at my house to get the key to the car but my son was so taken by the truck we followed and watched the tow in action. The driver was very friendly and let the kids "help". I filled out the paper work for the drop off 3 block away and off he drove. The windows were down and the battery was dead, the driver took one look inside the car before leaving it and notice some keys. He drove them back to my house not wanting to leave them in an open car. Great service, nice way to end a crappy day.

I needed two motorcycles towed about 10 miles in the city. I found
Kansas City Towing Company Provider Name Locked
on Angie's List and thought I would try them because they are a local and family owned business. I called and talked with the owner who said they offered motorcycle towing, so I set up the tow. A driver and an assistant arrived with a flatbed truck and anchored the bikes side by side with the front wheels in the wells where a car's front tires would go. The flatbed didn't seem to have very good tie

for bikes, but I could tell that the driver was trying to do the best he could. He ended up putting a single strap over the back of both of bikes. The flatbed left first and we followed behind in our car. When we were just a few blocks from our destination, we caught up with the flatbed which had pulled over to the side of the road. The driver said that the strap had come loose. One bike had fallen into the other one during transit. Over $300 in damage was done. I know they gave me a good deal on the price of the tow, so I just asked for half the price of the tow returned to cover part of the damage (much less than $300). I've tried to settle up in several ways-- initially by phone, then by email with pictures of the damage and quotes for parts, then by snail mail also with the pictures and quotes, and again by phone without success. I was told that the owner was ill, so I was patient and gave them extra time to respond, but it has now been 6 weeks. Last time I called, I spoke with the owner but he said he didn't remember anything about it, rushed me off the phone, and said he would call me back later that day. Never heard from him. I feel like I went more than half way to meet them with a fair resolution but they then became unresponsive, not even an apology. Very frustrating experience.

24 Hour Tow showed up, unbidden, shortly after another driver ran through a red light and hit my car. Since I wasn't able to reach my insurance agent, and the regional office couldn't provide me a preferred and reputable tow service, I allowed the employee of
Kansas City Towing Company Provider Name Locked
24 Hour Tow to hook up to my car. I told the driver I wanted the car towed to a particular Toyota service department. The driver offered that
Kansas City Towing Company Provider Name Locked
24 Hour Tow had a body shop that would do the work just as well as Toyota. I declined the offer and stated again that I wanted the car towed to Toyota. My understanding before the car was hooked to the tow truck was that my car was being taken directly to the Toyota service shop of my choosing. After the paperwork had been filled out and I had gotten into the truck to ride along to the Toyota repair shop, the driver told me that my car would be taken to the

storage lot to be delivered on the following Monday since the Toyota service department wasn't open on weekends (the next day was Saturday). I told him that the Toyota dealership's service department had Saturday hours listed on their website, but the driver assured me that they would not be open. Although this could have been an honest mistake, my suspicion upon finding out after repairs were finished that the tow company charged my insurance company $718 is that the driver was more worried about the size of the reimbursement than about getting my car towed promptly. On the following Monday, I contacted the Toyota repair shop at approximately 11:00 AM to ensure that my car had been towed properly and there were no damages in addition to those sustained when my car was initially hit. The Toyota repair shop had not yet received my car. I then called
Kansas City Towing Company Provider Name Locked
24 Hour Tow to find out why my car had not yet been delivered for repair. After explaining that my car was to be towed to a Toyota repair shop, the person who answered the phone at

informed me something to the effect that

had a body shop that could repair the car just as well as Toyota. I declined that offer, again, and asked when my car would be delivered to Toyota. The employee left the phone for a moment, and told me on his return that the car was on the way to Toyota already. At approximately 1:00 PM, I contacted the Toyota repair shop again to ensure that my car had finally been delivered. It had not. I again called

24 Hour Tow. I again explained that my car was to be towed to a Toyota repair shop. The woman who answered the phone left briefly, and told me that the car was already on the way to Toyota when she returned. Sometime around 2:00 PM, I received a call from Toyota that my car had been received for repairs. I feel as though once the car was hooked to the truck and the meter was running for storage of my car,

24 Hour Tow was not all worried about the speed of their service or the customer service they provided. Under no reasonable circumstances would I agree to use their tow service again.

They were fairly professional when I called to order the tow and said they would arrive in about 60 - 75 minutes. Although they were much later than they estimated, the driver did call me, to let me know that he was running late because of traffic. The person who towed my car was efficient and friendly. They towed my car to a dealership for repair, while I went on to work. They were kind enough to leave my receipt in my car to pick up when the car was finished with repairs.

came when we called our insurance company's "roadside assistance" number because our engine overheated. We did not need a tow and he was willing to take us to a nearby gas station to get coolant. He also added the coolant, something I would not have known how to do. He was friendly and explained what he was doing. When it was all over, he followed us (as we pre-arranged) for about 10 miles to make sure we did not overheat again.

He towed my car to Aamco and the cost of the tow was paid by Aamco who said the tow was covered in the cost of rebuildingthe ttransmission! Pleasant surprise to pay less than I expected to have to pay. It was such a pleasant experienceto feel I rereceived great serviceall around and to not be taken advantage of. Love it! Thanks so much in helping me make a decision that saved more at least $1200!

Service was finally performed but certainly not within the timeframe allowed by the insurance company or advised to the insurance company by S&S towing. I'm just glad I was in a safe place and able to wait this service out
