Window Replacement reviews in Jacksonville

It might have been easier to write reviews for the windows and doors separate, however, I will just say that I am satisfied with both and that Bill the salesman and everyone at

are great people. They will ensure that you are satisfied. The windows is all A's including the price, except that after replacing all my windows and doors and adding more insulation in the attic and replacing the duct work, the AC bill is the about same as last year. So I didn't see the dramatic savings on electricity that was advertised. The JEA comparison for the last 3 months doesn't show any difference. The windows and doors look fantastic, especially the French doors with mini blinds in the glass and full glass. The sound reduction with the dissimilar window glass and the laminated door glass was very nice. Everyone always bent over backwards to please me. Unfortunately, there was plenty of opportunities for them to demonstrate that with the doors. The doors were supposed to be Low E and they are - except that they do not reflect the sun coming in very well. The ODL rep (there are multiple entities you have to deal with when dealing with door glass) tried to convince me with a NFRC sheet that the ratings were Low E, but the ratings reflected that the ratings for the doors were better than the windows and that was not true. The glass on the doors were replaced once since they weren't Low E (the installer still says they were to begin with). The blinds were malfunctioning on two of the doors so the glass and blinds were replaced again. I tried to convince Gates and the ODL rep that the door glass were still not Low E for the southern US, but that is difficult to do, so I finally gave up. The doors only had some of the morning sun, so it was not that important for me to reflect the sun. I am sure I could probably pass a door glass certification knowledge test now since I spent many, many hours researching Low E. The NFRC, that is supposed to protect consumers was useless.

The initial meeting/estimate went great. They answered all my questions, provided detailed explanations of the product, options, etc. I was expecting the windows to arrive and installed late August. I received a call on Wed 8/6 indicating that the windows were in and they had installers available for the next day. The job initially was quoted to take 1 1/2 days for installation, but they were able to install all windows in one day. The installers were punctual, courteous, and very accommodating (I work from home, and had to manage a heavy workload that day). Their professionalism was top-notch, and when they were done, there was nothing that I had to do (clean-up, etc). It was like "magic", I woke up in the morning with old ugly windows, and by 4:30 had beautiful clean new windows to look out of. VERY IMPRESSED AND HAPPY with the overall experience.

Six of the windows worked great right after the installation. Four of the remaining six were repaired through the window manufacturing company called Custom Window Systems (CWS). However, our front two windows work worse than the original windows we had before the installation. Both FHA and CWS have been to our house a number of times to look at these front windows -- FHA has looked at them twice since the install and CWS has been there 4 times. We are now at a phase where CWS is blaming FHA for an installation problem, and I've reached out to FHA both through 3 phone calls and a posting to their Facebook page with no response yet -- other than they were turning it over to their Customer Care department. That was 2 weeks ago...
The people that we have dealt with at both companies have been friendly in the past, but it looks like they are kind of forgetting about us now -- especially now that each company appears to be pointing at the other. Meanwhile, we are stuck with two windows that do not open, close or lock easily. I hope someone from one of the companies will read this and respond.

Instore representative was very professional and knowledgeable, but their subcontractor was non-responsive. I even called the subcontractor's number with no success except they said they didn't have us listed for the first appointment, even though I was sent an email verifiy the appointment. I'm not totaly sure of the month, but it was earlier this year.

Windows were ordered and arrived when promised. Windows were scheduled for installation when they arrived. Three man crew arrived on time and finished installation within 5 hours. There was absolutely no mess or inconvenience. All members of the installation team were polite and extremely considerate. Pricing and warranty are exceptional. We would highly recommend services from

Went very well. They showed up on time as promised and worked very professionally. They took care to make as little dust/mess as possible and cleaned up after the work was done.

First, I was pressured at my local Ace Hardware store to submit my contact information for an energy audit. Against my better judgment, I gave in. Then I was hounded with phone calls for weeks to schedule an energy audit. I eventually caved again.
The inspector was professional and thorough in conducting the audit, but refused to proceed with a cost estimate for installing windows and gutters because the MAN of the house was not home during the inspection. The inspector asked to schedule a meeting at which my husband would be present. My husband refused because this seemed like a very SEXIST business practice. Later, I received several phone calls urging me to schedule, but the company refused to proceed without my husband. My husband and I are both owners on the

They were a little late and had called to explain the reason. Normally I would have been put off by this, but they more then made up with their professionalim and how fast that they worked on repairing my windows and sliding glass door. The 2 technicians

acted like a "swat team" working quickly and affectively in my home. They were in and out and the work was done to my complete satisfaction. I would certainly use them again and they can be a little late if they want.

They arrived earlier then scheduled and went right to work. They had 6 guys working and it went by so much faster than I could of even imagined. The windows are just beautiful. Brightens up our house.

FANTASTIC from the phone call to set up the initial appointment thru completion of the job.
The sales rep, Bill, was on time, well-spoken, professional, personable and did not shy away from any question.
We wanted to see some actual double hung windows so we went to the office, un announced. We met with the owner, Gates Dearen, and like Bill he was fantastic. He, too, answered every question with no equivocation.
!The windows were ordered. They actually came in a week early. The date and time of installation was set. The installers were about 10 minutes early. What a nice change...installers are never on time!
The installers were an extension of what we'd already experienced with the rest of the company. They set to their task and were they good and fast....and neat!
The home builder had neglected to put some trim above 2 windows. The installers would have none of that, they put up 2 trim pieces!
Will we ever use this company again? You bet the house we will.
Will we recommend this company to friends? We already have.
Give them a call. You won't regret it.
