Cook has taken care of my cats for over 18 years now. He and his staff provide comprehensive health care for cats and dogs. When one of my cats had a need for a specialist, he arranged for the provider to come to his facility, thus eliminating a trip to a separate vet clinic. Dr

and his staff have a compassionate attitude when it comes to having to euthanize a pet due to extreme illness or old age. Not only were my cat's needs seen to, but so were mine as an owner experiencing a loss of a pet."

"I originally chose this Vet strictly based on location and hours, as they were close to my home, and they were open until 6 on weekdays. I really wish I had done more research, as every time I visited there, I felt like I was being taken advantage of. Routine vet visits were more than I pay our pediatrician for my kids visits, and they always added on a bunch of test, and the medicines they prescribed were always a lot more than what you could find on-line. They even added on a $6.50 surcharge for hazardous waste training. Despite all the money I spend, they never ran blood work which would have identified the kidney problems until her kidneys had already failed and it was too late for any effective treatment. Given the high rate of genetic disorders for this breed, this should have been one of the first test they ran, but I guess it's not a big money maker. The Vet wanted us to continue the ineffective IV treatments to prolong the dogs life (and no doubt increase his bank account balance), despite it being clear that she was suffering, and that the treatment had no change of being effective. Only after I told him that I would not prolong the suffering did he agree that euthanasia was the proper treatment. If you really care for your pet, find a vet that cares more about treating pets than making money. I now drive an extra 10 miles across the river to Wells Road Animal Medical Center, and I am very happy with their service, professionalism, and prices, and truly believe that their primary concern is keeping my new pet in good health. "
