Jacksonville Glass Repair Companies Reviews

"Arrived right on time for estimate. Arrived right on time for install. Quick, professional, high quality work. My neighbor liked the work and used them on his bath remodel.

"I really liked

and had a total of 4 estimates given. The price was in line with two other companies, but I didn't have a good feeling after the other people left. The only reason I gave a B on punctuality was because the shower was to be installed on the 24th instead, but he called me that morning and said when he was opening the boxes to make sure he had everything to install the shower part of them were chrome and part were brushed nickel even though all the boxes stated brushed nickel. I really don't fault him for that since that was really out of his control and I am glad he checked everything prior to coming to the house. I totally understand that is our of his control and things like that happen. I highly recommend him and his company and would use them again if I needed anything else with glass.

"We remodeled our bathroom and the finishing touch was installing a shower door. We called a few different companies and

had the best price with the best reviews. Owner

gave me an estimate over the phone with my explaination of our set up. Once the tile was set, we called up and set up an appoinment to come out and take final measurements. We ended up having to re-schedule several times due to conflicts on our end and

was very understanding and accomodating. Once measurements were taken, it took a couple of weeks for the glass to come to come in, but an appoinment was scheduled promptly for install, once again very accomodating with our schedule.
My husband ended up being home during the install and I came home at the tail end. I noticed that the hardware was chrome when I had requested brushed nickel. Partly my fault for not re-reviewing the invoice, but it was put in e-mail that I had wanted brushed nickel.

was very apologetic and stated he would swap them out as soon as he could order it and get the replacement parts in. A week later, he came out on a Saturday to swap the chrome brackets and handle for brushed nickel.
The end result is beautiful and we are very happy with our new shower and will definitley use

"They set up an appointment to give me and estimate. We agreed on a day and time for the work to be done. They called me when they were on the way. They arrived on time. The removed the old glass sections, scraped and cleaned the openings, cut and installed the new glass, good install of the glass putty. They used drop cloths on the inside and cleaned up expertly on the
outside. Great job all around.

"I originally did a

on Angie's List for mirror removal, but did not follow up with any of the companies. To be honest, I did not know what kind of company I should call for the service. A few weeks later, we were driving and noticed a pick up truck with broken mirrors in the back. The pertinent information for the company, including phone number, was listed on the truck. I immediately called, and the passenger in the truck next to us picked up the phone. I tried explaining how much mirror there was, but I don't think this much mirror is common. So, the original estimate was $150. They said they could come by in a few hours, but we couldn't make that appointment. Instead, we scheduled a time a few days later.
He was there ahead of schedule and ready to remove the mirror. When he got there, though, I think he was surprised by the wall of floor to ceiling mirrors (probably almost a 15' wall length). He mentioned that it would normally be $225 for such a job, but since he quoted us $150 based on my description (clearly inadequate), he asked if we could meet us at $185. Of course, we agreed.
These mirrors were strongly attached in 1983 with glass that easily fractured. Though it was terrifying to watch, he meticulously removed each section of mirrors with minimal breakage. He removed some the bigger sections in one piece and had to cut them down to remove them from the bar area. He carefully removed all the glass pieces, leaving few visible fragments behind, which we removed with a single vaccuuming.
He was professional and courteous. Through general conversation, we realized he may offer other services that we could use, like replacing our shower doors or our fogged sliding glass doors. He was never pushy, and the description of his other services felt more like helpful information than a sales pitch.
We decided to give him the full amount of $225, but only because we thought the job warranted that price. He seemed happily surprised by the gesture. We intend to use his services in the future and hope to recommend him to anyone who may need glass work.

"Everyone was professional from the intial telephone call to the actual installation. The glass was measured on the first visit, ordered the next day, and installed on the third day. I could have saved some money if I had removed the frame and brought it in to the shop but I choose to have them install it to prevent any possible

to myself in transporting the broken glass."

"They made the shelves to my dimensions, but unfortunately I measured incorrectly. When I returned to the shop with the bad news, they cheerfully ground the shelves down to the correct sizes. There were no additional charges to correct my error.

In all they exceeded my expectations.

The work was performed at their shop."

"First of all, they had previously replaced a cracked windshield for me and that job went fine. They handled the insurance paperwork on the phone, showed up within a few days, and I have no complaints about the work done in replacing the windshield. Based on that good experience, I called them again to come out and replace a big sliding glass door on my patio that had one pane shattered. That experience, however, was so unprofessional, it borders on the absurd. The first sign of trouble was when the girl on the phone assured me that my door was a standard size and gave me a quote of about $430 to replace it, but when they came out to do the replacement, it turned out it wasn't a standard size and would require a custom order. The custom sized door would be $550. If I would have known what I was getting into, I would have just called somebody else then, but I had a good experience with them before and had already given them a deposit so I figured it was an honest mistake and stuck with them. I went back to work, but 30 minutes after they left, I get a call from my incensed wife reporting that they had simply dumped the shattered glass from the old door in our back yard. Called the company and read them the riot act. Two hours later a supervisor calls me, apologizing profusely, and said that it was a mistake, the service technician didn't know he had done it, and that he had gone back to the house and cleaned up the mess. He did a fairly good job of damage control, and when I came home that evening, it was cleaned up pretty well, so I cooled off a little. They came back a week later to replace the door with the custom sized door and I take the morning off to be there. After 20 minutes of fidgeting with it, the technician tells me that he doesn't know what happened, but they must have measured wrong and that they have to reorder the custom door. They'll call me when they get the new one in and schedule another install. At this point, I'm realizing my mistake, but I just want the door replaced, so fine, order the new door, I just want this done. Two and a half weeks go by, and I haven't heard from them yet, so I call them to find out where things stand. After a little research the guy at the shop apologizes, says that they've had the new door in for over a week and he doesn't know what happened, but they'll be out the next day to replace it. They'll call me in the morning to let me know when they'll be out. I take the morning off, but of course, they never call, the guy just shows up around 9:30 (good thing I was home). He replaces the door (it fits this time), I take a look and it looks fine. I ask him to put the remainder of the work on a different credit card than they had put the deposit (because I can get double skymiles on this other credit card) and he says sure, goes out to his van, and comes back 5 minutes later with a receipt and a perfunctory apology for "any inconvenience or anything". At this point, I'm just happy to have the door replaced after a month of their bungling. As a parting shot of incompetence, however, I find out that they didn't charge the job to the credit card I asked them to, but to the original card I had put the deposit on. Whatever...good riddance. The best part about it: I went out to their website (http://www.glassdoctor.com) and saw that that they had a "Customer Survey" to tell them how they did. I went to fill it out, but when you click on the link you just get an error. Fitting. These guys are jokers. They'll never get my business again..."

"Excellent. Next day service, on time, courteous and professional. Will definitely use them again. Prices very competitive compared to 3 others glass companies that gave me estimates."

"They came out to measure right away, very prompt and courteous. They broke our soap dispenser when part of the glass fell from the window, but the Owner came out and replaced it."
