"He told me that I didn't need to pull a permit b/c we weren't adding to the area, so he didn't pull one. He also kept the original tin roof, whereas the rest of the home has shingles. He used Styrofoam for insulation, and he the wood he used to frame out the walls for the room are only an inch thick, the drywall is coming off the walls, there electrical is not even grounded, it's been a nightmare. To make it worse, he is a licensed contractor, he won't return my phone calls, I have to call him from numbers he doesn't recognize to even get him to answer his phone. Every contractor I've talked to since has told me that I got ripped off for what he charged me & the size of the job. It's hard b/c contractors won't give specifics for what they charge so you can compare with other contractors in bids. I know the material he used probably only cost him about $800, if that. Also, when he was running a/c duct to the new room his heating and air company busted a pipe and when I came home for lunch there was water leaking through the light fixtures. I asked him to give me a copy of my contract but he refused. I hope no one ever uses this guy.

is the best contractor that I have ever had the pleasure of hiring. We recently installed a doughboy swimming pool in our back yard and wanted to have a deck built around it to keep the dirt and grass out of the pool. There were several special factors that needed to be considered in designing the deck. We wanted to be able to walk out of our existing screened enclosure without having to step down onto this deck and we wanted it to come up just under the trim on the pool so it would have an in ground pool feeling. I also had electrical, irrigation and drainage obstacles to work around.

took all of my requests and designed an exceptionally sturdy deck.
All construction exceeded the standard codes that are required for a free-floating deck. The piers he constructed are 4x6 pressure treated lumber inside of 12" forms filled with 12-24" of 5000lb concrete. (Other contractors that we considered were going to use 4x4's and put them on pavers with concrete poured in a hole dug with post hole diggers. Nowhere near the strength

designed.) All beams were 16" on center.

recommended upgrading from standard 5/4" decking to 1 1/2" deck boards which outlast the thinner decking. He showed me samples side by side and the difference is great. The cost difference was minimal compared to the upgrade in strength and durability. Especially good idea since our deck is so close to the ground. He added many custom cuts to give it the special touch that really makes a difference. We also added to the structural integrity buy adding 4 additional supports where our offset umbrella will go. The base contains 300lbs of sand to keep it standing and he wanted to be 100% sure there would be no sagging or shifting.

was working on the deck, I was working on "under deck" projects. I had to run electrical conduit and 4" drainage pipe to connect two gutter down spouts and divert the water away from the deck out to the woods. He was always willing to offer ideas when I was scratching my head trying to figure the best options for MY PROJECTS. He also was very flexible in that he would work on portions of the deck that would not interfere with what I was trying to do. He did a exceptional job of custom cutting around my plumbing of the deck drains. Really has a professional look to it.
We also asked for a couple steps leading from the deck down to the back yard. We were originally thinking it would be a wooden set of stairs. He ended up making the steps out of concrete that forms to the contour of the pool which really gives it a nice look.
A couple other notes. Several other companies that we called never showed up or it took them days to come out and look over the job. Then it took several more days for them to call us back with any type of quote, if they called back at all. Not the case with
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
. I called around 4PM for a price quote and he was there the next morning at 0930 as agreed. We discussed all of my design requirements and then he took measurements and some photos. He said that he would have a design worked up and a quote for me by the next day at the latest. That same evening there was a written quote in my inbox. He was the ONLY prospective contractor that was punctual and got a written quote to me when promised.
When he was working, my daughter was chomping at the bit waiting for it to get finished so she could get back to swimming. He was very courteous with her on the occasions when she would come out into the screened enclosure and ask him questions. He never seemed put out that a six year old would be taking up any of his time. He was always there when he said he would be and worked in the extreme heat of a Florida summer.
I would love to include some photos of the finished job, but I don't see any way to add them to this review. As stated before,

is the best contractor that I have ever had the pleasure of hiring and I would hire him again or recommend his services to anyone without hesitation.

was the ideal contractor. Based on his performance at my wife's employer's residence we hired
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
to do a complete interior painting of a rental property in preparation for listing for sale.
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
arrived early, was very organized, efficient, clean and thorough. He provided all materials after we agreed on colors and finish. Even though we had carpet installers coming after he finished, he treated the old carpet as though it was not being replaced. He returned on his own after the carpet installation to see if any areas needed touch up. When he was finished he removed any

that he had ever been there....except for the beautiful paint job! I can't remember ever being so satisfied with a service provider.

"He sent 2 people and when I got home from work they had torn off quite a few boards off my house - and not rotten ones and no place near the leak! I was furious! I used another company and this company tried to charge me for illegally ripping boards off the back of my house without my permission! I could have called the police."

"I waited until I had enough funds to make it worth a workman's time, and contacted several recommended do-it-all operations. Many did not even respond, and most were not interested or available. On my realtor's recommendation, I called

at
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
. He and his son/partner came out, and it turned out I had a good three days' worth of work for them.

They were courteous and respectful of a single senior lady. They were willing to do exactly what I wanted. They listened to my questions and did not in any way belittle my suggestions. They gave me their opinion courteously, and of course I generally took their advice. I asked them to break everything down into several smaller projects they would be willing to do at different times so I could pay in small amounts. I was so pleased with the price that I was able to do it all at the same time. Because I did that, they even gave me a good break on part of it!

came each day, most days with a helper. I left them a key and felt comfortable doing that. They were always punctual and cleaned up after themselves every single day so I wouldn't have to live with a mess.

The front porch light I ordered had not come by the time they finished on the last day.
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
told me to let him know when it came and said he would make an extra trip over to put it up for me. That was going the extra mile, in my opinion, since it wasn't his fault the light came late, and it cost him time and gas to come back over.

I have asked them to give me a couple of months to save a little more so we can move on to the next projects: insulation under the house and fixing a sagging, partially burned out front porch. I also need to get interior and exterior painting done. They are willing and capable of doing anything. Prices are reasonable, and they are courteous and professional. I highly recommend them for all aspects of "handyman" work.

"Woodwork was done and one house painted. The woodwork was sloppy and one coat of paint was applied. I pointed out where the old paint was bleeding into the new paint. Since both houses were side by side and their trailer was inside a locked fence, I wrote a check for the first house with their word that they would take care of the problem. They got all of their equipment and trailer out of my back yard with a locked gate, went to my bank and cashed the check. I was puzzled as to why they left with another job for $1600.00 and all they would need to do to complete the first job was to apply another coat of paint in some light colored areas. I discovered my new $2000.00 dollar gate had brown paint sprayed all over. Now I now why they left. After writing the above I e-mailed

was recommended to me by a neighbor so I contacted him to get an estimate. Based on my description over the phone he was able to give me a quick estimate for the house and fence and a date when he could do the work (about a week later). About two days later he called to say that he was available earlier than estimated. He arrived on time and was very professional in all aspects of his work. He checked in and out with me and let me know when he needed to use more fence sealant than anticipated (additional cost). He is very friendly and EXTREMELY conscientious, so the work gets done perfectly the first time. My home and fence both looked like new again when he was done. You can find cheaper service providers, but not with the same quality of work. If you want a job done on time, and flawlessly the first time
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
is the guy to call.

"Horrific. Terrible. Will have to take legal action to get any money back or sub-standard work re-done. He purchased an excessive amount of supplies for a very small job. For example, he bought 5 gallons of paint to repaint the two rows of shingles when one
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
was more than enough. He did not buy primer. He did not install new flashing on my roof as contracted. On the part where he was to re-shingle, he did not even put the felt down, even though he had purchased it. The shingles were buckled and lumpy. He was trying to modify my deck stairs and the result was cosmetically a disaster and at that point I asked him to stop working until we could figure out how to "remedy" the situation: the lack of flashing, the lack of felt, et cetera."

"The project went smoothly. It took longer then we all expected because it ended up running through the holidays, but Mr.
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
always provided us with updates, never left us hanging. We're very pleased with the work, and would recommend
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
to anyone looking to add new construction, especially those wanting to add an addition to their house who are budget-conscious. Mr.
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
's approach to the construction suited us very well...starting with what we knew we needed, and adding or removing features as became necessary. A month or two after construction was complete, I had issues with the air conditioner, and Mr.
Jacksonville General Contractors Provider Name Locked
helped me out very quickly.

"This company was pretty impressive. They were punctual and professional. Their rates were also affordable and reasonable in my opinion. We are operating on a budget since I retired so I appreciate their fair price quotes. I felt like they informed me as a potential customer and they seemed to be very reliable."
