All construction exceeded the standard codes that are required for a free-floating deck. The piers he constructed are 4x6 pressure treated lumber inside of 12" forms filled with 12-24" of 5000lb concrete. We also asked for a couple steps leading from the deck down to the back yard. We were originally thinking it would be a wooden set of stairs. He ended up making the steps out of concrete that forms to the contour of the pool which really gives it a nice look.
A couple other notes. Several other companies that we called never showed up or it took them days to come out and look over the job. Then it took several more days for them to call us back with any type of quote, if they called back at all. Not the case with
When he was working, my daughter was chomping at the bit waiting for it to get finished so she could get back to swimming. He was very courteous with her on the occasions when she would come out into the screened enclosure and ask him questions. He never seemed put out that a six year old would be taking up any of his time. He was always there when he said he would be and worked in the extreme heat of a Florida summer.
