Chimney Repair reviews in Jacksonville

They were on time for the estimate. Their proposal was very complete and they had a massive number of references. The day t of the installation they were extremely efficient and they left the yard immaculate. They finished almost in one day( they came back the second day to caulk a piece of replacement soffit.
Overall a very positive experience and the roof looks great!

Called twice to make an appointment for an estimate. Had to leave a message on voice mail both times. A week later, no one has called me back. If you don't need or want the business, be professional and courteous enough to let the potential customer know.I have now signed an agreement with another company who did call back and show up at the agreed upon time.

Late in September, Mr.

came to my house to evaluate the problem with my fireplace. He told me he would get back to me with a proposal and did so, He came back to my house on Oct. 7 to go over the proposal. He told me that he had to order the panels and that it would take about two months for the company to deliver the materials and that he need the full amount ($510.00) up front, because the supplier needed to be paid before the materials could be sent. When I told him that I never paid in full before work was done, having been burned in the past, he agreed to accept partial payment ($400). I found Mr.

to be flexible and courteous--I offer this example to demonstrate that he is willing to work with a customer on the subject of payment. He let me know that when the panels came in, he could do the work in a few hours. He was true to his word.

The work was completed on 11/10. I called several times before this date to see what progress had been made in getting the panels. Mr.

always returned my calls, although it took several days before I heard from him when I had called. Since I had paid him $400.00 for the materials, I was a little anxious when I didn't hear back from him on the same day that I called, but in the end he proved to be entirely trustworthy, if a little slow to respond to phone calls. I don't hold him responsible in any way for the slowness of his supplier. When he showed up on Nov. 11, around 9 am, he got right to work. By 11 am he was finished. He was careful not to track soot over the floor (the man even removed his shoes at the door--I was impressed!). He cleaned up the hearth and threw the damaged panels into my trash can for me. I would hire him again and recommend his work strongly.

The overall experience was easy from start to finish.

handled everything and made it a point not to disrupt our every day activities as we were still occupying the home while the work was going on. We couldnt be happier.

After installing a new roof three years ago, and after repeated complaints over the persistent leaks around my chimney flashing, the roofing company determined to get rid of me by claiming that the leaks were in the chimney, not the flashing. I chose to verify their claim by having a chimney repair company evaluate the leaks and I found Ash Away on Angie's List. The gentleman from Ash Away was prompt when he arrived to perform the inspection and, after checking both chimneys concluded that, although there could be leaks in the chimneys themselves, that the problem appeared to be the shoddy flashing installation. Ash Away charges $75 for the inspection which is refundable if they perform repairs over $400, yet he was honest about the potential problems and likely cause which could have sent me on my

way back to the roofers. Instead, due to the mold that was forming as well as the worsening damage to the interior of my home, I asked whether he could perform the repairs himself and he said that he could. The next week he returned, on a Sunday nonetheless, and patched the flashing around both chimneys, replaced a part on one of the chimneys, and performed an interior inspection on each. He has asked that, should the leaks return, to contact him and he would return immediately to investigate further. And, he asked that I do not perform the repairs to my walls and ceilings yet, just so that he could make sure that the damage would not recur. It's been two weeks and, to the best of my ability to leaks! And, as a single woman, I always take great care to evaluate anyone that I allow into my home yet I never felt uncomfortable. And, we had a great conversation about politics, too!I would absolutely recommend Ash Away to my friends and neighbors. The roofing company, well, I'm still not done with them yet.

Unlike many contractors, they showed up when they would and did the work they said they'd do. When they came back to do the re-point of the chimney, they didn't do a good job there and charged a little too much. The gentleman who did the initial work, I found to be better at his job but, unfortunately by the time they came back to do the re-point work, he had left the company.

The work and workmanship was very good, but the mortar was not even close to matching. I left a small note to him about it and he didn't even call or acknowledge it. I would say that he has reasonably good workmanship, but not he is not the best when it comes to attention to detail.

Nice guy and very responsive. Got the estimate out quick. Only problem was the mortar was not the same color. I have not heard back yet on the mortar problem.

They completed work promptly and for reasonable price. There was some initial confusion between their sales person and their office people about what work we wanted in order to get an estimate, but it got resolved. They sent a three-man crew, and once they started work, it took less than half a day to complete.

The crew was punctual, conscientious, and professional in their work. They did everything they said they would and stayed
within their price estimate. They skillfully worked around frequent rain storms and managed to keep the sheathing dry in the process. We like the upgraded architectural shingles they installed and the ridge venting has noticeably cooled the garage and, we think, improved the efficiency of our cooling system.
After the installation, some of the marking chalk had made red streaks on the white drip edging and

took the time to clean it up for us, which was greatly appreciated. We would recommend
