Indianapolis Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Reviews

"We purchased a Big Deal to have an estimate for a kitchen remodeling done. Geoff was prompt and professional. Geoff was very personable and appeared to be quite knowledgeable. He listened and asked good questions. His demeanor and candor was such that we felt comfortable requesting that he add estimates to have work done on 2 of our bathrooms which he agreed to do. Within a reasonable amount of time, we met with Geoff at his business and reviewed the drawings and estimates of the kitchen and bathrooms. He noted that his showroom had a variety of products in styles and price ranges from which we could pick. We liked that all of our choices were in one location, and we didn?t have to drive around town as we did with our previous contractor. Geoff continued to appear very knowledgeable and helpful in suggesting what would work for our projects, but not pushy. We decided to go with

for a complete tear-out and rebuild on one bath and a fix-up on the other bath, but to defer the kitchen plans. There was what seemed to be a lengthy exchange with establishing the contract. Some of this was waiting for Geoff. Then we responded with the needs we felt important, esp. after a prior negative experience with another contractor. We established that there were to be no workers in the home while we were out of town, and that if there was a day when the workers were not coming, we should be contacted. This was because we had to round up 2 cats and put them in a closed room.

scheduled our work, and we were directed to a website which had a calendar of all events including details of the work and provided communication exchange with

, the COO, who would now be our contact. The finished results do look good for the most part. We are pleased with the quality of the pieces we picked: the tiles, the cabinets, the counters, the handles. However, if you look closely in one bathroom, you will see a line of paint going down the tile on each side of the shower, that the grout is messy on one side where it meets the ceiling, that the ceiling has some pimples. In the other bathroom, we had to ask to have caulk put in between the end of the counter and the wall where there was a little open space. Communication should have been easy with the calendar in place and the detailed contract. However, there were a number of frustrations. On the day when we were leaving town, a truck pulled up with a workman from

. The calendar clearly showed that it was a no work day. Fortunately we were still home and able to handle the situation, but it took time from the schedule which we didn?t have. Our big concern has been that our cats normally roam the house. During our last remodeling, one of them got too curious and ended up trapped in the attic for 3 days before being found. All of this had been explained to

. It was not easy putting them in a closed room every morning, which is why we requested that we be informed if no one was coming that day. There were a few days when it was obvious that no one came, but we were never notified beforehand. There was a problem with the water temperature soon after they started. When we were showering or running water in the sink, the water temperature was not getting hot. The cold was not staying cold. When we asked,

explained that, ?the temporary plug is missing from the new shower valve we installed.? They fixed it. Our project was delayed a little when they ran short of tile and also to order the shower door. I had to ask about the paint choices for the bathroom. They had not been given.

"My wife and I purchased a complete bathroom remodel as an Angie's List Big Deal. We were incredibly happy with the results.
Indianapolis Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
and his partner did a great job with everything and the bathroom looks amazing now. We could tell just from talking to them that they take great pride in their work and will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. We have a second bathroom in need of work and we will definitely be using APEX when the time comes this summer. "

"I bought the special coupon for the kitchen design for help with my teeny tiny kitchen in our 1920's home. With cabinets breaking down from age, an upgrade was necessary, but we wanted help to maximize the functionality of the space, since we had few options to enlarge (other than removing a bathroom, which we ultimately decided against), I wanted help from an expert. During our first meeting, I was impressed with the contractor. He was friendly and professional and when I told him specifically that I needed a creative solution for our very tight u-shaped kitchen, he had great ideas. When he left, I was excited to see what he would come up with. Unfortunately, when we met to look over the plans, I was extremely disappointed. The design on paper had none of the ideas we talked about at my house. Instead, it was a very grand, less functional version of the kitchen we are unhappy with. It was indeed beautiful--and I want beautiful--but goal of better functionality was lost. At some point, he (or probably, his designer) had been unable to break design maxims, like centering the sink at the window. In our kitchen placing the sink offset would allow for an additional large base cabinet, worth its weight in kitchen-aid appliances in my kitchen. Truly I am no designer and I was open to any suggestion, no matter how insane, except taking away more cabinet space, which was what this design did. He admitted considerable debate among his design team about our kitchen and he offered to do the designs again until I was happy. His ultimate goal was customer satisfaction and that attitude would make him an excellent contractor to work with. Despite that, I decided that his strength was not suited to our project and I chose another contractor. "

When he abandoned the renovation in January 2014, the half bath was still only wall studs. No water, no heat, no walls, no toilet, no shower for 3.5 months. Early on, he asked for a $7,200 check to buy granite countertops. He cashed the check but bought no granite, pocketing the money. The

, but he told the judge he was injurede and has no income or assets. yet he drives a new Toyota 4x4. He frequently had only one worker here a day. He had excuses why he could not hired more. He said he did not need permits for the work and I should acquire them. The city said only licensed contractors can obtain permits. His workers destroyed eight kitchen cabinet doors before leaving, had improper duct work done that left out heating outlets needed in two rooms and his two-year warranty in our contract he ignored. The workers simply left the job and never cleaned up. We had to repaint the kitchen and dining room walls. The construction company we hired to finish the project said much of the work of ISMA was not up to code.

"He gave us ideas on how he'd do our job and acted like he was interested, He took very few, if any, measurements - which I thought was odd since I had called him out for an estimate. He said that he'd done our type of project many times before in homes in our area and said it wouldn't be a big deal to do. Upon leaving, he said that his estimator,
Indianapolis Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, would call us that week to set up another appointment to come out, measure, and get us an estimate (?). However, after waiting a week to hear from this mythical
Indianapolis Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, I texted and called
Indianapolis Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
to see what was going on. We never heard back from him, and he didn't respond to my messages. It was a difficult job, and instead of telling us he couldn't do it, he simply blew us off. We're frustrated that instead of telling us he was unable to do the job, or that the job was too small, he did the juvenile thing and just left us hanging.

Nick went above and beyond the call of duty and helped with things he had knowledge of that helped us and had nothing to do with his work.
