Indianapolis Insurance Agents Reviews

"I was hesitant to use this company for home insurance in the first place but I was in a hurry to get an insurance policy as we closed on our house very quickly. The price per month was about average, not too high but not too cheap, and the particular agent I worked with seemed nice enough. However, when the time came for them to shine, they completely screwed me over.
In late October, our home was hit hard by an unseasonal storm, which tore up our roof and knocked a tree down in our backyard. I contacted
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
right away about it and they seemed pleasant and concerned. They stated I should get some estimates and I would be hearing from a catastrophe team member within the next day or two. I didn't hear from ANYONE for two weeks. I had my estimates and all three contractors agreed my roof was going to need replaced due to the damage taken.
I finally was contacted by a cocky rep by phone who stated he would come to look at the roof. He asked me what the contractors had decided was the cause of damage. I explained to him what all three told me: wind and hail damage. He had the NERVE to argue with me that there was no hail involved in this particular storm. I asked him what state he was located in, he told me
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
. I then told him he could get off his high horse because he clearly has no idea how bad this storm was. I insisted there was hail, that I would print off a weather report for his records, and that if he was trying to get out of covering this roof, he was out of his mind.
He then cut me off and told me he was going to pass me to a different rep because apparently he wasn't willing to deal with a client that wasn't going to roll over and take it. I didn't hear from this new rep for another week, who then told me he would come out a week later (day after Thanksgiving), which ruined my travel plans but I knew it was for the best as my roof was beginning to leak. The day before Thanksgiving, he has the audacity to call me and reschedule for a week later than originally planned. So needless to say, I cancelled my holiday plans for nothing.
He eventually came out and stated the roof did need replaced but because the wind damage hit primarily the west facing side, that would be the only portion they would cover, unless they could not find shingles to match. The contractor was there when the rep came out and argued with him, stating the entire roof needed replaced and the shingles were so old he would never find a perfect match. None-the-less, the rep took a shingle and stated he was going to send it to be tested and see if there was a match. He also stated the tree would not be covered as it did not damage anything on my property, so I am left to pay a company to removed this tree on my own.
Weeks later, he contacted me by phone stating he had found a match and would be sending half the check covering only the one side of the roof. I told him I would be contacting the contractor and would call him back, which I did. The contractor requested a sample to make sure it actually matched because there was no way we were going to have a two-toned roof. I called the rep, he didn't answer, so I left a voicemail. He didn't call me back, so I called again but it went straight to voice mail. A few days later, I received the check in the mail that I did not want until we verified the match. I never received the shingle and he will not answer my calls.
I can't even explain how sick I am with this insurance company. Even if I wanted to have my roof fixed with just the half, I can't do anything until spring because they dragged this process out so long. Needless to say, I'm not done fighting with them.

"My mother was returning to her home from an extended vacation and I needed to get the repairs completed before she got home. The company doing the repair work did a great job, the damaged equipment was replaced, no problem. The second adjuster,
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Noble, halved the electrical claim and refused full reimbursement on damaged equipment. The equipment problem I am not arguing with. The electrical work I am as it took two days to find the problem and we had to change from a fuse box to a breaker box. In addition we have to have an additional circuit installed. The new adjuster said her electrician said the work did not need to be done yet she and/or the electrician refused to come to the house to review the damage, the work, of the circuitry. The house was built in 1940 and has a very interesting circuiting system. I offered to meet Farmer's Electrician who said his rates were half of the provider we used. He would not come out to review the problem. Since all his work is in newer model homes 1995 or later he and the adjuster would not know anything about the older homes. We had had the house inspected by home inspector a few years earlier and he found no major problems in the electrical system. Shortly before Farmer's had tripled their rates for no reason so there are two reasons for not going back despite the entertaining add campaign. I still have the claim information and invoices.

"The
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Agency has consistently provided excellent service. Though thankfully I have not had to file a claim recently, they have consistently been available to answer questions and provide good advice.
When I've had incidents with other vehicles and
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
did not have to provide any service, they have still been very available and willing and able to ask many questions that I've had.

"When my vehicle was broken into, they sent someone out in a timely manner and issued me an insurance check right on the spot for repairs and damages. Very quick, effecient and rep was nice.

"I believe health insurance is the bane of this country, but alas, I have no choice but to partake or become bankrupt on the back of a broken health system. None-the-less, Anthem has made this experience just as fickle and sour as possible. They have trouble telling you up front if you are covered for a service or practice. They pick and choose when they will cover tests and procedures with no explanation.
In fact, they have even blatantly lied to us regarding the approval of a nutritionist visit. In that same conversation, the rep who spoke with my husband told him she was going to speak with her manager to get permission to hang up on him because he was becoming upset that she refused to give him a straight answer about coverage. After putting him on hold for ten minutes, she came back to finally spill the truth about the coverage and expose herself in a lie.
Absolutely despicable. Unfortunately, this is the insurance offered through work and unless we wish to pay an unfathomable amount for private insurance, we are stuck here.

are both great. Very friendly and helpful. A few times I have lapsed in payment and always receive a call that day letting me know that payment is needed to continue coverage. Very thankful that they stay on top of this, since I sometimes fail at it!!

"It was fine. He recommended places I take my car to get repaired. He explained the process and why I am getting as much money as I am. He told me to call back if I had any questions. The most impressive, my nose would not stop running and he went to his car to get tissues so I didn't have to use toilet paper.

"Homeowner policy was issued 9/1/11 by Nationwide Insurance and paid in full at issuance. Notice was sent 11/3/11 they were increasing the coverage limits on the property and would increase the premium. Not a small amount, they were increasing it 20.7%. How is an agent off by that much on property valuation? I called
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
in November 2011 & told him the increase notice I received is past the 60 days Indiana Department of Insurance allows to change or increase premiums. He said he would look into it, but I never heard from him so I thought he had it straightend out. That is until I received a bill dated 6/7/12 billing me for the additional premium. On this bill I wrote an explanation as to why I didn't owe the additional premium, mailed it to Nationwide and faxed a copy to
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
. I didn't hear from
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
or anyone at Nationwide Insurance but then I received a cancellation notice dated 7/7/12. I made lots of phone calls to
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
and Nationwide corporate office in regards to this cancellation and many calls were not returned. The Nationwide customer service which I called wasted 6 days then told me the policy was being cancelled because there is a piece of gutter hanging down from our shed. WHAT? I asked if I could talk to her supervisor and she told me to call
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
's boss,
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Bone.
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
had no idea why he was being involved in this issue. Finally on 7/1712, one day before my policy would be terminated,
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Bone and
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
told me this: "Nationwide sent a letter dated Friday 10/28/11 that says they were automatically increasing the coverage amount, which is within the 60 day notice required. Therefore, if I don't pay the premium policy will be terminated." Nothing in the letter indicates there is going to be a charge for this increase in coverage and this letter was not mailed but sent with the 11/3/11 notice of premium increase which was past the 60 day requirement. This all could have been cleared up last November when I called
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
, it wasn't. The fair price I received for coverage at the beginning disappeared with the increase to my premium. My opinion is
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
,
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Bone and Nationwide Insurance doesn't care about customer service, their customers or following Department of Insurance laws.

"About all I can suggest is: don't do it!! I didn't give complete Ds or Fs because we were happy with the actual insurance company. we've been members of
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Credit Union for many years & fully trusted the insurance service. That is, before we got insurance services. The agent from the beginning was reluctant to do his own work in setting up our accounts with the new carrier. It took weeks upon weeks to get everything sorted & straightened out.

I had pages upon pages of a trouble list that needed straightening out. I would have gone elsewhere but just couldn't deal with the idea of starting over again with the research & finding another agent. So, I turned it all over to my husband. He was soon experiencing much the same frustration with customer service issues.

Everything did eventually get straightened out. To be certain, I contacted the insurance company myself to verify all was done as needed. I also complained to an administrative person within the credit union system (I no longer have the names of contacts except agent's). That person turned it over the to VP of Insurance Services, who had never been very helpful when we spoke with him in the office.

we've had this insurance for several years & have made a point to have as little contact as possible with the agency. It continued to be frustrating whenever we needed to deal with them.

Recently, a very responsible long term tenant got a dog that we thought might affect insurance coverage. We asked the agent, who informed us that the insurance company would not provide coverage on that property with that breed. He never offered to assist us in finding a company that would. So, lucky for us, we switched all of our insurance to another agency, who had the job done in no more than a few days.

"I never had to file a claim with them. Just recently some hail came through and damaged my car, so I decided to have a roofer come out to see if the shingles on the roof of my house were damaged. They found a lot of damage to the shingles to my roof and to my detached garage, the metal pipings, the gutter screens, and they even noticed holes in the screens to my windows and dents in the grill to my AC unit. So, after I felt there was a claim, I called and filed a claim. The next day, someone from
Indianapolis Insurance Agents Provider Name Locked
Insurance called and left a message about the claim, and I called him back. He said that an insurance adjuster would be contacting me soon. The day after, there's a knock at the door in the middle of the day and it was the insurance adjuster showing up out of the blue, without calling. This to me is shady and rude. I just so happen to work from home, otherwise I would not have even known he showed up. He said, I just wanted to let you know I was here, so you wouldn't wonder who was climbing around on your roof. Seriously? They were just going to climb on my roof without my permission? He asked him to look at the AC unit and the screens to the house, assuming that he'd see the shingles, gutters and metal pipings while he was up there. I came back in the house and a few minutes passed, and I realized that my gate out back was locked where he would have to go to see the back windows, the AC unit and to climb on top of the detached garage. I went out there and he was gone. He didn't even tell me what he had found. I got a message the next day that all he found was metal pipings with dents, there was no damage to shingles. (No mention of window screens, AC unit, gutters-because he didn't look at them). The roofer estimate was over $5,000 to replace the roof. The insurance adjuster estimate to fix the metal pipings was $600 bucks. I have a $500 deductible. I would not have called to file a claim for such a small amount. He gave a low ball figure, that was just higher than my deductible. This is shady business in my opinion. I called to get another inspection with the roofer present and they told me I have to go through a lengthy appeals process that it's my responsibility to read through. So, now I'm stuck in their little game.
