Indianapolis Auction Services Reviews

"They were very quick and clean. They were on the ball and I got the check within a week after they had the auction. The guy who came in and did the assessment and the people who packed were very good. They did a very good job and they cleaned up after themselves. They were wonderful and I thought their price was fair."

"I gave an antique curved glass china cabinet that was overfilled, a 1918 antique bed, an antique lamp, 2 silverware boxes filled with silverware, and a Bush computer desk. Their truck was filled with my items that I had bought bubble wrap and boxed up for them to take to auction. The cabinet had Fiestaware juice cups, a

cut glass items, Princess House retired items, Bavarian plates, Worlds fair spoons (previously appraised at $175), my g-grandmother's crystal spoon holder, a Gold Imari plate, 2 purple cut glass bowls and other items that were never accounted for. When I received my $379 check from

I went to the auction house and picked up the rest of my items. Many of the items I picked up were stamped #220 and #167 instead of the #185 that was my correct auction#. I asked her multiple times to look at #220 and #167 to see if some of my more valuable missing items could have been credited to them and she refused. Besides the unaccounted for items, there were broken items and missing parts. Her answer was that I had not packed them well... She was never willing to account for any of the expensive missing items even after I sent her pics and a previous appraisal from a certified appraiser. She complained appraisal was out of date.... Yes, it was old but it was sent to show the items had value. She still wouldn't account for my items. A week later she called to ask if the Fiestaware hooks she'd sold on eBay could be mine! Yes, I did get a small add'l check for the hooks eventually. I could have made more $ selling these at a garage sale or even throwing half in the trash and selling the rest at a garage sale. A tax write off at Goodwill would have been better than the $379 that I received. I do believe she mismarked many of the valuable items with the wrong owner's number. Her answer was everything missing went into the back room into their five dollars a box 'deals's instead of researching my concerns or even caring. I don't believe that she would put a crystal spoon dish from the 1800's that was previously valued at over $200 in a box with other items to sell for $5. Neither do I believe the Fiesta Juice cups were thrown in a box to sell for $5 and on and on. I feel completely violated by

and her crew. So for over $5000 of previously appraised items I received $379 plus a bit later for the fiesta hooks. Would not recommend

"I phoned first, was assured by office staff that items would be sorted prior to auction & be placed in appropriate auction: main building where better items go vs. box lot building. When I dropped goods off, I also checked items they'd already prepared for auction in the main building to confirm that I had some items of similar quality. Per my receipt, my total sales were "

"It was hard to find where to deliver the vehicle on the grounds. We ended up dropping the vehicle off in the lot at night so I could return the next day to turn it in. I arrived with a van full of small kids, so I couldn't move the van we were returning. They did eventually have someone drive it to the correct location for me. I didn't get any type of receipt, so it felt strange just dropping it off. Later we got the itemized description of the damage they found to the vehicle. We were stunned to see they found over $2000 of damage. Most items were very minor with a big price tag. It did have one

"I attended the October Art and Antiques auction. It was my second experience at
Indianapolis Auction Services Provider Name Locked
. I have attended numerous art, antiques and estate auctions through the years, so I speak from experience in saying that
Indianapolis Auction Services Provider Name Locked
runs an extremely professional operation. Staff are all knowledgeable about the merchandise, they've done their homework. The auction house is bright and comfortable, and the website is a great resource for prep work. The auctions are lively and exciting, live bidding on the floor along with simultaneous on-line bidding and remote (mysterious!) telephone bidders. NOT a homespun country auction. NOT a snotty Sotheby's-type experience. Rather, a modern, upscale auction house which specializes in quality 20th-century art and antiques."

They also took a lot of our items to the auction house, feeling that they would do better there. They loaded it up, nothing was scratched or broken. They are a class act all the way. Very reasonable fees compared to others. Pays quickly."

"We were unhappy that they tacked on a $50 pick-up fee which no one had mentioned in advance. They did take a lot of stuff, so we were saved the work of selling or otherwise getting out of the house. There is a lot of uncertainty in auctions (which we knew) so it is hard to guess what prices you might get; we did not get as much as we thought we might for a lot of the things and the 35% commission took a fair amount of that. On the other hand, it is a good way to empty a lot of things from a house. They did leave behind things they didn't think they could sell which we then gave away or threw away. It took a long time from and reminder phone calls to get paid and they charged us the pick-up fee twice but then refunded it."

"We have not seen any money yet and it has been since december 3, 2002, when they picked up the furniture. They sold everything, he won't tell me how much, and he never has the figures handy. I've given him my name and address many times. The check was supposed to go in the mail.... Still nothing... My last contact after many calls was march 24th, 2003. I would like our money for the furniture, because my mother-in-law passed away, and we are trying to close out the estate."

"They keep 35% of the profit, you keep 65%. There was a lot of ''stuff'' in the house, because the couple had gone through the depression and saved everything.

''s came at the scheduled time, were professional and efficient. They arrived at 9 a. M. And boxed and moved all items to their truck before noon (main floor, upstairs and basement). They operate like a well-oiled machine. They will also haul away what is left (for a fee). The check was ready a few days after the auction. I will caution you to clearly

"Originally, they came back to pick up some things that we found later. They did that very quickly and willingly. We were in a time crunch and that was helpful. They were polite and on time. The first day, they had a problem with the truck and I called them. If I hadn't called them, I am not sure it would have went smoothly. When I did call, they were very accommodating. Experience at this point would have been a b+. Since then, I've called these people repeatedly. They took belongings of one of my clients to sell for her. They said that they have sold most of her things and yet they have not given us any money at this time. They seem to be pleasant, but they are very disorganized and they have not returned phone calls. They picked up the pieces for the auction on october 29th, 2002. I would not recommend them."
