"The crew was on time, efficient and a pleasure to see such great teamwork!!! Even though they had to deal with weather issues they did not waste time. They seemed to know when the rain was going to stop and would get out and get prepared to work so that the minute it stopped they were back in business.
They were organized with the window installation and never left us exposed to the weather. This organization runs like a well oiled machine, we really felt that we got a lot more for our money.

"The owner was very accommodating throughout the process. I Actually required two bids because I delayed the job initially. The only issue in the initial bidding process was due to some differences in the window descriptions and features between
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
description and the description used by the window manufacturer. It took a few emails and discussion between the manufacturing representative and Guardian.
I chose the to go with Guardian based upon the independent testing results for the windows (pressure rating, solar gain and u factor), the flexibility in color schemes (you can have different colors on the inside versus the outside of the window), the Lifetime Manufacturers Warranty, the price and the number of high grades in the Angies List reviews.
The installation went better than I had imagined. The installation crew has been together a long time. They are a well-oiled machine. I was impressed the the attention to detail, the precision of measurement, precision of cutting and installation. All furniture and countertops were covered prior to work. Measurements were taken at each critical step to insure the windows were installed accurately, precisely and plumb. During the installation, the crew would periodically call our attention to potential issues with the siding and window surrounds that may need further attention. After each section was completed and at the end of each day; the crew would clean up the areas that had been completed. This included vacuuming.
The job took 4 days. The windows were delivered on one day. The installation of 27 windows on the two story house took roughly two and one-half days.
The windows look fantastic. The exterior color matches our siding and the white interior color really looks great and really adds to the look of the interior.

"Original consultation went well. Salesperson showed up right when he said he would and was very pleasant to talk to. He closed the sale during the first visit. The installers were just as prompt and nice as the salesperson and had our windows installed over the course of two consecutive days. But the installation did leave a little to be desired....more /> INSTALLATION ISSUES: The salesperson said that the installers would clean up their whole mess and for the price we paid, I expected as much, however, even weeks later, I am still finding pieces of broken glass outside. Several of our house window frames had paint chipped during the installation and much more noticeable little circular holes appeared on some frames that were covered over by white caulk in an apparent attempt to conceal the damage. The outside picture window frames on either side of our front door had much larger sections of paint chipped off and covered over by white caulk as well. Some damage occurred to our hard wood floor during the installation, several windows were not caulked to a complete seal, and one window had an actual scrape -- these were all items that
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
rectified immediately.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS: The quality of the windows is good. They look nice and have the screen
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
until the window is opened. They conveniently open inward when needed for cleaning the outside and the screen can be disconnected from the bottom of the window so that the window can be opened without the screen. However, the windows are not perfect.
CLOSING WINDOWS: Since the screen attaches to the bottom of the window, it prevents one from actually closing the window by applying pressure to the bottom ledge of the window since that ledge actually belongs to the screen that easily detaches from the window with a little force. Attempting to press down on the protruding screen ledge to close the window disconnects the screen (even if the screen lock button is not pressed) from the window and sends the screen screaming down, slamming into the bottom of the window frame and rolling back up. It is unfortunate the screen lock button is so weak that it cannot stand up to the force of closing the window by using the screen ledge. The windows must be closed solely by using the top of the frame where the locks are. It would have been nice for the windows to have some kind of handle on the bottom of the frame (not attached to the screen mechanism) to allow the windows to close by pushing down the bottom.
WINDOW LOCKS: Some window locks do not lock very easily. I have locked multiple windows simply by turning the lock and the window would still open after locked. Therefore, one must push the window with a little force to ensure the locks lock properly.
AESTHETIC ISSUE: The screens that attach to the bottom of the windows have a small (0.5") protruding ledge. However, every single one of these ledges has one inch cut off from the right side that makes for an offset, uneven look.
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
said this is just how the windows are manufactured, but it doesn't seem to serve any purpose or make any sense. I don't know why the screen ledge is intentionally missing one inch from the right side when it goes all the way to the left side to end up flush with the rest of the window on the left side.
THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY: We noticed a slight improvement in our indoor temperature in our coldest room, but not as dramatic a change as we expected from the sales pitch. The inside of the windows still feel cool to cold to the touch when it is cold outside and we suspect the opposite during the summertime, but that is yet to be seen.
NOISE REDUCTION: We were told it would be eerily quiet after our
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
were installed. This has not been the case. We still hear a fair amount of noise from outside. It is generally quieter in our house with the new windows, but again, not the dramatic change we expected for what we paid for the windows.
CLOSING COMMENTS: It is hard to compare these windows with those of other companies since this is our first replacement window experience, but it seems to me that less costly windows would still function about the same as the expensive
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
we purchased. However, part of the cost includes the warranty that GCW stands behind and if they stand behind their promise to replace our windows as needed due to any issue while we live in this house, then that will have made the purchase worth it.

"Great! I absolutely love these windows. Not only do they look great but I have had NO PROBLEMS with them. My electric bill decreased significantly. Outside noise has also decreased. All my friends were very jealous when I had them installed.
Speaking of installation, I really didn't know what to expect. Having a 30 yr old house with some settling, I assumed the installation was going to be a mess with broken bricks around the windows. Not at all! It was amazing - the installers cleaned up wonderfully afterward.
The owner of
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
also lived up to the name! After the installation, she came out and inspected all the work and
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
sure I had no issues or questios.
(I don't remember how much the cost was, so I entered 0.00. I do remember researching many companies and deciding upon this one because it was reasonable).

was great to work with from start to finish. I was looking for window replacement for my entire home and wanted to upgrade the type of window used. I received quotes from multiple window installers. The biggest difference between
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and other installers is that he doesn't sell just one or two brands of windows. He helped me find the window style and brand I liked best and looked around town at building supply wholesalers to find me the best price. As a result, I was able to afford premium, aluminum clad wooden windows at a price competitive with other installers' vinyl window prices. Throughout the selection process, he was very patient with me and facilitated conversations between the window specialist at the supplier to make sure my questions were answered and we specified all of the details of our order so I would be happy.

up his window installation on a per-window basis, not a percentage basis, so I didn't pay more in installation fees just because I selected a premium window.

and his crew for the full house window installation in the spring.

"Everything went well. The reason we selected them is that we had some tricky issues. We got three estimates.
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
Decker was the only one who really listened and understood our concerns. We wanted "prairie" grids on some of the windows and colonial grids on the rest of them. He happily complied with our wishes. We have two big bow windows and a "false" window that is sheet rocked on the inside but looks like a window from the outside. This presented some problems. The other bidders didn't offer satisfactory solutions.
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
talked over the options with us until we were all satisfied. We are very pleased with the result. It took a couple of months for us to get Homeowner's association approval and our decisions made. We had many questions for him throughout this process. He was quick to respond when we contacted him.
His crew is mostly family members, as well as an employee who works on most of their jobs. They were pleasant and courteous, and completed the job on schedule. We would certainly consider using them in the future.

build a sunroom on an existing patio with pavers. They removed the pavers where the sunroom would be and poured cement as the sunroom floor. They made sure the rest of the patio stayed intact and redid any pavers that were affected by the construction of the sunroom floor, perfectly! Then the frame was built and the windows put in, then the roof. The contractor finished up by making sure all the windows were cleaned and working properly, the door cleaned and working properly and the yard around the sunroom was straightened out and cleaned up. All this was done in six working days. They worked through rain, predictions of a tornado, and thunder and lightening. I am duly impressed. The construction of the sunroom was exactly what we wanted. And the price was very reasonable.

"This man runs a very professional business. Answered calls promptly and crew was always on time. Crew cleaned up all debris and work items after each day. Although not in the contract, Mr.
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
discovered and pointed out termite damage in the garage. He took the initiative to repair it before putting on the siding, and only charged another $395. The labor for the termite damage involved cutting out paneling, treating with termite
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
and replacing the base plates. A really top notch job. It was not specified in the contract, but Mr.
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
replaced the siding with top-quality cedar, before painting to match the rest of the structure. This was unexpected and appreciated. Mr.
Houston Window Installers Provider Name Locked
also built a substantial ledge under the window a/c unit in my garage after he installed the new window. Just one more perk from Mr.

. You never really know what level of service you will get when you cold-call a provider and we are thrilled to have discovered Mr.

and his top-notch trained team. Thank you Mr.

"We asked several Angie's List vendors for a quote on the windows. They were in the middle of cost for the job but the suggestions made by this company were practical and artistic. For example, they suggested a color, rather than white, to blend with the brick on the house. Also, suggested changing openings (up and down or slider) so the windows on the same side of the house all looked the same. I definitely would never have thought of that! The company changed the appointment time for installation because a worker had been injured and they could not finish jobs as quickly. We appreciated them being up front and we simply rescheduled. Installation went smoothly. Everyone worked steadily. When finished, we received a lesson in opening the windows for cleaning and they made sure we knew how the locks worked. The area was cleaned up well. Several neighbors commented on how nice the windows look on the house. I recommend them without reservation.
