"I also purchased cat food, which was much more expensive than I have paid in other places. I thought the exam, cat food and medicine for the ear and flea meds was a bit pricey, as it came to approx. $240. Also, the location is a bit hard to find. The people were friendly, but they were quite pushy, wanting me to book another check up appt.

"We had moved to this area about six months ago and were in
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
of a new Vet close by and went to Angie's list and saw great reviews about Hearthstone and went in and were so impressed that they have been our pet's Vet now.
The customer service from the receptionist to the vet techs is outstanding and they are always willing and able to help or assist and you don't feel rushed like your a heard of cattle with some Vets or doctor's offices.
Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
took time to answer all our questions and give suggestions. We were impressed that he had reviewed the medical records before hand for our pet and knew his history and what his treatment plan and medications were.
Thank you Hearthstone for treating your customers like family!

"The very first date I took my puppy in was 7/29/13. In my contract with the breeder, even though the puppy had been to the vet earlier in the week, it was required you took the puppy to the vet of your choice to have him looked at for a second opinion so that the 1 year guarantee, she offered, would play into effect. When I initially took him, they said he had a heart murmur and needed an EKG, so I agreed. Anyways she showed me the chart of his heartbeat, and it was nothing major, to be honest I think he was just excited and in a new unfamiliar place and just taken away from his family the day before. I was charged $60 for an EKG on a dog that weighed 1.9oz at the time.I made sure to tell Dr
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
that my breeder told me not to have Cotton vaccinated for Leptospirosis and Bordatella because they have caused complications in her past litter from the same line and the Bordatella shot even killed one of her puppies. The vet, Dr
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
seemed to not agree and began to give me some speech on how he will need these shots and why but her reasons were all worthy of a debate in defence of my breeder. I returned on 8/13/13 for what was only supposed to be his 2nd vaccination of DHP-P. When I got the bill, it showed that I was charged for not the 1st but the 2nd Leptospirosis vaccination. How does one make such a careless mistake of giving my puppy the wrong vaccine? Because if he were to get that vaccine, then he should of started on the 1st shot, not skipped right over to the second vaccination. I had made very clear instructions to the vet not to give my puppy this shot, yet he was given it anyways.
I feel this clinic does't have the best interest in the pet owner, i have not and will not ever go back to this clinic because of this careless mistake.

" I can't say how much I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
! ! ! ! ! ! Although I've not had the pleasure yet to visit his new office, my extended family and I have been taking our furry children to see Dr
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for almost 20 years. Regardless of the fact the old office, might have been a little cramped and outdated, looks was not the driving factor in going to his office.....it was, and continues to be the Love, Care and Dedication that you can SEE and FEEL in your heart when Dr
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
is with you and your loving baby. He is kind, in both words and actions, makes your pet feel at ease when treating, and most importantly...knows what he is doing!!! He has seen and treated many of our dogs from puppyhood to their unfortunate end, but even then, he has made that process personal, heart warming, comforting and reassuring. Having moved further away from Dr
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
's office, I was sure when I got my new puppy (now 5 years ago), I would be taking her to a vet closer to me.....WRONG!! In the end, I could NOT fathom the though of taking her anywhere else BUT to see DR
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
!!! For as long as we have pets and Dr
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
is practicing, we will continue to take our babies to see one of my favorite people! Dr

May God continue to bless you and protect you as you do His work!!

was diagnosed with a very agressive form of cancer. When the time came it was quick. One day he was taking his usual walk and the next day he could barely stand up. My veternarian had given me Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
' contact information. I called her at 8:00 AM and she came about 3:00 PM that same afternoon. The first thing she did was give him a sedative which completely relaxed him. His passing was as stress free as possible for both
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and myself. Having your pet euthanized in his own home where he is comfortable is a wonderful thing. However, when that pet weighs over 75 lbs it is almost a necessity. Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
was kind and comforting but also very professional. I don't know what we would have done without her.

"Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
's performance was good, as always. Unfortunately, he left to go on vacation the following day for ten days but said someone would call me the next morning to let me know how the surgery went. A staff member called the following morning to ask for my cat's vaccination history, which I had given to them the day before. When I asked how my cat was, and how the surgery went, she did not know. She put Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
on the phone to speak with me. However, his purpose was not to give me an update as to how the surgery/biopsy went and to let me know how my cat was doing, but to complain in a very loud voice that my cat (a very docile cat under normal circumstances) "bit his staff member". He continued that because my cat's vaccinations were not up to date, my cat must remain in their hospital for ten days in quarantine in order to observe him for signs of Rabies. He was so concerned about his staff member that he did not have a clue about how my cat was doing, nor did he care. I had given the front staff medical history of my cat when I was there, and no one told us the vaccination record would be an issue. If they had, we would have taken our cat to another clinic. We have been responsible pet owners for over 30 years, and recently lost a cat to vaccine related cancer. At the advice of a well known oncologist, we had stopped what we felt were unnecessary repeated vaccinations for our indoor cats.
Dr.

's over reaction to a normal cat bite in a veterinary office has caused my pet and our family unnecessary aggravation and expense. We pleaded with the office manager to inform Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
of the situation, but she refused again and again. Because of Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
's outward hostility and lack of concern about the health of our cat, we refused to leave our cat at their hospital for ten days without Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
there to monitor the situation and ensure our cat was properly cared for. We asked several times if we could assist with payment of any medical bills for the technician, offered to drive her to the doctor, inquired several times how the tech was doing. All offers of help were declined.
The office manager immediately reported the bite to the City of Houston Animal Control, and an officer came to our home to confiscate our cat (who had just had surgery less than 24 hours earlier and was still groggy and very sick). Fortunately, the Animal Control officer was completely sympathetic to our situation, and was extremely compassionate towards our cat who was still recovering. Much more compassionate than any staff member at Brittmore Animal Hospital. The officer said that they rarely receive a call about an animal bite from a veterinary clinic about one of their own clients. At the officer's suggestion, we put our cat under the careful observation of our regular mobile vet and friend, Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
. We have written to Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
about the situation that occurred while he was on vacation, but have had no response from him whatsoever.
So, OWNER BEWARE. This veterinary hospital is run like a corporation, and not as a caring veterinary hospital that puts the health of their animals first. Instead, it seems they put the health of their staff before the well being of your animal. Good for the staff, bad for the clients. After my cat bit the technician, my cat was treated as though he had leprosy and my husband and I as though we were criminals. We never received a follow up call from Dr.
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
as to what he did, the biopsy results, his opinion on what was wrong with my cat, nothing. As a result, we have requested that the clinic close out all records on our past animals and send the records to us, but they have not honored that request.

"Dr. Oeben is wonderful with my cats. She takes the time to visit with each of them. She talks quietly to them so not to stress them out any further than they already are. She explains what she is doing and she answers all of my questions. She ran blood work on my older kitty who is considered a senior to get a baseline reading. When she got the results back later that day, she called me and explained that a few of the readings were in the high range of normal. We talked about what action I could take and what needed to be done in the future. If I have any further questions, I know that I can call her and either she or someone in her office will get back to me promptly.

" I have been taking my two dogs to the
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
for the past year and it's been a good experience each visit. The staff is friendly and the vets take their time with me. Their hours of business are very convenient; I am able to go early in the evening or on the weekend so I don't have to take off from work. If asked, I would recommend this clinic to other pet owners. "They have the best care for our dog. It’s a specialty hospital and really they are specialized in cancer as well as orthopedics. Their prices are expensive but I didn’t expect any less service they were giving. I
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
’t have measures but I think their price is comparable probably in all of Texas. I
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
’t think we could move down from a Mercedes to a Honda because it’s cheaper. I
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
’t have anyone else who is certain and they are the only people I go to.

"On the initial visit, the veterinarian was very friendly. He explained everything concerning my dogs health and well being. He spent ample time with me answering all of my questions and concerns. I was on time for my appointment and waited not more than five minutes for the vet to see me. This is the first time I've been to a veterinarian that ever cleaned out my dogs ears, which were by the way, filthy. On the second visit to have my dogs teeth cleaned, they called after the procedure to advise how my dog was doing. They wanted to keep her several hours afterwards to make sure there were no adverse affects from the anesthesia. They prescribed antibiotics and pain medication for the next two weeks. The vet called the following day after the procedure to see how my dog was doing. I was very impressed with
Houston Veterinarians Provider Name Locked
and the services they provided and will continue to use them in the future.
