"The main water pipe into my house pulled apart due to the drought around 8:00 pm on a weeknight. I called and received voicemail. I left my information, and my call was returned promptly (a little after 8:00 am) the next morning. The person on the phone was curteous and asked if I was still in need of their services. She set up an appointment for that morning. I received a phone call when the plumbers were on their way, and they arrived as scheduled. They were quick, professional, and willing to help with a few extra things (toilet flapper and clogged tub drain) while they were here. The price was reasonable, and I am happy with the results. I was also very impressed that they were willing to provide service quite a distance from their home office."

"I called in the morning, and asked for an afternoon time slot. They gave me 12-5pm, but called around 10:30 saying there was an early opening if I wanted it. I had to decline, and I had one of their techs out in the middle of my original window.
After reviewing everything and going over their price chart with me, I agreed to the work. Once had the toilet off, he saw that while the flange had some slight warping to it, it was fine. He recommended that I did not replace the flange, as cutting into it to remove it could damage the pipe, and become a more expensive project. He tightened the tank to bowl attachments that I had not tightened enough, reseated the bowl perfectly, replaced the water supply line, tested everything, and then once everything was great, used silicone around the bottom of the toilet. He also fixed the chain on the handle so that it's a perfect flush.
When everything was complete, he offered a free inspection, checked our water lines around the house, and made a few suggestions about replacing certain vinyl water supply lines. Lastly, he looked at our water heater, and found some problems with corrosion, and using galvanized connections/elbows on copper pipes, recommending that we replace the water heater. We'll be getting a second opinion and quote on that, as it's a pile of money we had not expected to spend.
Overall they were prompt and did their job very well. The price was higher than I had expected, but I had no frame of reference, and they clearly had a pricing guide for all sorts of work, and showed it to me when we discussed everything. I would definitely use them again."

"Removed old water heater and installed a new one. (About $1100.00.) The
new one stopped working and they returned to fix it. An electrical
short was the culprit. They replaced some of the wiring.
The installer also did research on a potential water leak from an
unknown source. I was impressed with the time he spent and the
experience he brought to the task. Eventually, on another visit, it was
confirmed that the source was the old water heater.
All of this activity involved several trips to my house. The woman in
the office who scheduled the appointments was very accommodating and
helpful."

"The estimates were extensive. The first item I was told HAD to be done was replace the anode rod in the newest water heater. This water heater was only 2 years old. I could not get a good explanation as to why this would go out so quickly. In addition we were told about repairs that needed to be made to the second water heater. And we were recommended to get a add ons to keep our water cleaner, etc. I was very suspicious of the first recommendation and with how expensive it all was. I could not believe that we needed a new anode rod. So I had Roto Rooter come out and inspect the water heaters. I did not tell Roto Rooter what Abacus had recommended. They did not recommend a change in the anode rod. When I asked if this was something that did needed to be done, I was told that you would smell rotten eggs if the anode rod had gone out. It could be replaced then. They said it would be very unusual for an anode rod to go out in 2 years. Then we were told that our upstairs water heater was not at all to code. (This water heater was installed during an addition put on our house, not by Abacus, but inspected twice by Abacus.) Somehow, it was allowed to be installed off our bedroom which is against any plumbing code. (It was a permitted install when done, but no one can figure out how it got through). In any case, the Roto Rooter technician caught it right away. He said the company would not replace the water heater where it was currently located. We would have to find another company to do it. They did not want the liability. We worked with the city inspector and had the water heater ended up being relocated to the attic for safety purposes. So, in the end, I feel Abacus was trying to sell us more than was necessary and was not even good enough to realize after two inspections that our water heater was installed in a way that could have put our life in . Not good....."

"Service tech came and looking at the issue and provided a quote. He was a native English speaker so there was no communication issues. After accepting the quote, he performed the work in about an hour. He also added some insulation to prevent future freezes. Service was quick and professional. I definitely would recommend again."

" from called before arriving at our house and arrived on time. We explained the problem to him. He investigated and found the problem in short order. The diverter assembly that diverts the water flow between the faucet and the sprayer was stuck towards the sprayer side. Because we didn't know what brand of faucet we had, wasn't able to get a replacement part so we just asked him to leave the diverter out. Now the water flow from the faucet is great. Of course the faucet still runs when the sprayer is used, but that's ok. was accurate with his diagnosis, friendly and patient in answering our questions. We also had a problem with our drain line out of the kitchen. tried to clean it out for us but discovered the pipe is broken. We'll have to wait until we have the money to get that fixed, but we'll be calling when we are ready. was the 3rd plumbing company we had called. 's Plumbing didn't keep the appointment we made with them and (after the appointment time) suggested we call someone else. Roto Rooter came out. Their plumber didn't investigate the problem - just said we probably needed a new faucet. They offered to install one for us for $269 and wanted another $249 to clean the drain line. I'm glad we decided to call ."

"We contacted for an estimate on a bathroom remodel job and spoke with , the owner on Tuesday, April 12th, 2011. He stated he would come out the next afternoon between 3:30 pm and 5:00 pm. He did not come out the next day, nor did he call with a reason or to reschedule. When we subsequently tried to call him our calls went unanswered."

"They came out twice with two separate people. The bid they gave me was $4849.00 to replace the pipe in my attic with CPBC piping. The quote they gave me first, which was the day before, they had given me a bid that was $6000.00. The manager called and asked if they could give me a second bid, which they did, at $4849.00."

"They were able to come the next day after my call in the late afternoon. Two young men came, showed me what was wrong (hole had rusted through), went to "the warehouse" and bought a new garbage disposal, returned and installed it, and took the old one away. Took about 1-1/2 hours total time from start to finish. They were very professional and nice young men. I would definitely hire them again."
