I was dismayed in the end to find out that the removeable TMJ device was half of the price I paid for the permanent device I wore for 6 months, and really annoyed that they didn't come clean in the beginning and suggest I get the removeable device in the beginning, rather than charge me thousands for the first device, remove it 6 months later, then tell me I needed a removeable device to keep my bite aligned, both devices do exactly the same job. Only they wanted to charge me for both, when I could of had just the one on the first round, it was half the cost and I would still have it to use now. They care more about their income than your outcome! other that reason I don't trust their motives nor treatments and will not go there nor recommend them. They did fix my emergency though - but not without fleecing my pockets first - they took advantage of my situation. And, after the first 2 visits (you have to go every few weeks) they gave me a beginning dental assistant which I told them I did not want, because I have sensitive teeth and don't want someone learning on my mouth.

I'd like to preface this by saying that we do not have orthodontics insurance, so we paid every penny out of our pockets. We are now beginning from the beginning with daughter #2 with a new orthodontist, also paying for this treatment out of our own pockets.

The older daughter (now 18) has a "permanent" retainer on her bottom teeth, so poorly cemented to the inside of her teeth that she cannot floss, and our dentist cannot clean under and behind. It was installed, not by Dr.
, but by one of his staff. That daughter's mid-line is not centered, either. When her braces were removed and she was put into a plastic & wire upper retainer, her teeth began to shift. Rather than adjust the wire to push the teeth back into place, Dr.
filed off the plastic to accommodate the shift. When we questioned it, he got a little belligerent and basically informed us that HE was the expert and we needed to just let him do his job. When we told him that our dentist was not happy with the bottom retainer or with the midline not being centered, he VERY ARROGANTLY told us about all the specialized
he had to take in order to be an orthodontist, how only the very best of the best of each class are selected for orthodontics training, and that our dentist needed to do his own job and let him (Dr.
) do what we were paying him to do.

The younger daughter has been in braces for 8 years; she is preparing to graduate from high school in May 2012 and she may STILL be in braces on graduation day! Dr.
refused to do the treatment that we contracted for under his predecessor, and has steadfastly promised but FAILED TO DELIVER a copy of the original consultation promising the appliance that was needed.

The first step in her treatment, while she still had baby teeth, was to install expanders (top and bottom) to expand her jaws to accommodate all the teeth. The initial consultation also promised an appliance that would force her lower jaw forward (she had a significant under-bite), creating small cracks in the jaw that would fill with new bone, continually doing this over a period of time until her jaw grew out to where it should be. This appliance was never put on, and when we questioned him about it (we could not find the paperwork promising the appliance) he stated that he personally wouldn't recommend it, and that it would have been at additional cost anyway (contrary to what we were promised by the original orthodontist).

After all of her permanent teeth came in, a new course of expansion began, and brackets were put on her teeth to begin the teeth straightening process. Not only were her teeth crooked, but they also were at the wrong angle. As was explained to us by another orthodontist, the reason that some people's smiles really "pop" is because the vertical alignment of the front of the teeth is so perfect that is reflects the light directly into your eyes when you look at that person. Our daughter was a little "buck-toothed" in that her teeth were angled outward.

This angle was never corrected...it was made a little better by the nature of the treatment, but it was never completely corrected.

Our daughter's "brace removal" date kept getting moved out...and it always coincided with the last payment on our account! We missed one payment near the end of the contract...and her "done date" got moved out at the next appointment! When we made the final payment, they made an appointment to remove her braces, calling her "DONE"!!!

We knew for a fact that she was not finished...she still had a pretty severe underbite, and her teeth were not yet straight. When we questioned Dr.
about this, he said "oh you can continue treatment with us until we get that fixed...it will be $270/month". What happened to the CONTRACT AMOUNT being what we paid for the JOB TO BE COMPLETE??? He recommended that we NOT have jaw surgery to correct this...and at this time, our daughter's bones have slowed or stopped growing so the original promised appliance wouldn't do any good, either.

We asked our dentist for a referral, and he sent us to an orthodontist that specializes is fixing other orthodontist's mistakes. This man did xrays, took measurements, and sent the information to an outside company for a computerized evaluation. The evaluation came back...a good orthodonic job means that tooth roots are parallel to each other...her roots look like tree roots going "every which way". She had a significant (5mm) underbite, and a 10+ degree offset to her front teeth on top (meaning they still stick out like buck teeth).

I asked Dr.
's office for her complete records, and they informed me that I would have to come into the office to pay over $70 for the "copies" of her file. I stopped in at their office to pay the fee, and I asked several very specific questions about what exactly was going to be provided. I reiterated that this was at least my third request for a copy of the initial evaluation by the original orthodontist; they specifically promised that this would be included. They also told me that it would be a copy of every single piece of paper in her file (hence the $70 fee for "copying"). They also told me that they would send her original plaster mold. They said it would be 10 business days.

5 weeks later, I called to find out why they had not yet sent the file to the new orthodontist, and they had no answer for me. It took 3 more weeks for the paid-for report to get to the orthodontist. This report consisted of 3 pages...HANDWRITTEN...comments that were taken from her years of treatment that had been input into the computer at each appointment. No file was copied...no copies of the original evaluation...no plaster mold...NOTHING. My demands for what I paid for have gone unanswered and unacknowledged.

When my daughter began to be treated by the new orthodontist, it was discovered that the expanders had been in her mouth SO LONG that her
had grown up over the top of the bands and were inflamed. He couldn't get them out of her mouth fast enough!

We have been trying to deal with Dr.
in a Christian manner, giving his office every opportunity to do the right thing and to give us a full refund. We haven't even asked for a refund of the first round of treatment (the expansion process)...we just want the second round of treatment refunded, since we are having to do it all over again.

At this point, Dr.
's office staff no longer answers our phone calls, and they do not return our calls either. They put us off for as long as they could with "I intend to have a meeting with Dr.
about this"...now we have sent a snail-mail letter demanding payment or we will be asking for a Peer Review.

We are extremely disappointed with this orthodontist, and we warn EVERYONE against using him. He advertises at movie theaters, and has made a vanity movie short about how good his treatments are. He even appeared on Great Day Houston a few months ago. I will also be contacting that TV show about his "services".

I am 28 and new to the are and needed an orthodontist. I found him on here and went to his office - he is an amazing doctor. The facility is really clean, the technology is top notch (you even check yourself in on a computer which I have never seen) and I barely had to wait at all - the whole system there is very friendly and efficient. He was very nice and to the point and I am very happy with the work he did. I also thought that the charge was pretty reasonable. I will definitely go back to him if I need anything else done.

Anytime we are at the office it is a very pleasant experience. We are always greeted with friendly staff members, and smiling faces! There is never a very long wait time, which is great when it comes to children and our busy schedules! My granddaughter who is seen by the Doctors/staff has had major anxiety in the past, and is also ADHD, and they are absolutely amazing with her! She loves going in for her check ups, and picking out her favorite "flavors". They treat me and my family with compassion each and every time, and explain things to me in a way which I am able to understand. If we need to work on something, they provide us with tips which we can work on at home to help improve, and present them in a way which is fun and intriguing for the children. At one point, we did have some treatment that needed to be done, and we were concerned with payments and a time schedule. Fortunately, they were very accommodating and willing to work with us given our situation. That is something we value in our service providers, and one of the many reasons we love
