"This company was very professional and showed up the next day to replace condensor/coil since our a/c unit had been out for 4 days in 95+ degrees heat. My phone call was transferred to a senior
and we discussed previous contractor's quote and they installed the same unit for $4,000 less. They sent out a large crew and installation was quick and efficient. New unit is working great!
I would recommend them in the future.

"Firstly, the lady who answers the phone/coordinates visits is rude. I'm sure she doesn't mean to be, but she hangs up while I'm still talking and her
sounds like she thinks I'm stupid.
Secondly, I used this company two years ago and left them a good review on here. The technician was excellent. But since then, THIS COMPANY KEEPS CALLING ME TRYING TO SELL ME THEIR AC/HEATING CHECKUPS. They call repeatedly WHEN I AM AT WORK (They have terrible timing. They call when I'm in meetings, or when I'm in the middle of telling some family that their loved one is dying, and then they have the nerve to act RUDE when I tell them I am busy and please stop calling me at work!). I only called them back this time because the actual technician was good...
The first guy who came out for the diagnostic trip (the one with the 90 dollar fee) was excellent. Knowledgeable, respectful, gave us advice on what to do to see if the system would come back to life after all (it didn't, but I was also told this thing needed to be replaced 2 years ago when it broke, so I wasn't surprised). It was already late, so he arranged for another guy to come out the following day to give us an estimate on replacing the system.
The second guy was very knowledgeable, but his quote was by far the highest one we got. They do have a "cash pay" discount, but even with the discount the quote was still far higher than the other 3, considering what they were going to give us for it (coil and condensor only, no furnace). He kept saying "My price won't be the best, but you have to pay for quality installation." He kept trying to talk us out of getting more estimates (this was the first one we got).
At that point, my trust level became extremely low. I already think this company is all about getting my money, since they keep calling me at work to schedule my "yearly AC/Heating check" even after I've repeatedly told them the system is old, I'm going to use it till it breaks since you already told me to replace it 2 years ago, and I'm not interested in any checkups since it will break soon anyway, and please stop calling me at work or even AT ALL. They have not removed me from their calling list, and last called me a few weeks before this.

"I spoke to
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
on the phone after receiving a first diagnostic visit from another company, who told us we would need our entire system replaced.
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
was concerned that we were possibly getting ripped off, and came out the next day to diagnose our problem along with his son (Coil was freezing over repeatedly). Diagnostic trip fee was $59. He confirmed (along with the other 2 contractors we called after the first one) that the entire system did in fact require replacement. He gave us a very fair estimate which was one of the top two estimates we got of the five. Both companies said that if they found further issues during their installations, they would fix those problems without changing the estimate.
Since both of the contractors seemed very knowledgeable, professional, and honest, it came down to which system we wanted, and the online reputations of both contractors (both good, but the other contractor had more reviews on Angie's List). The systems were different brands and both seemed to have their pros and cons. After much deliberation in the family, we went with the other contractor due to the brand/model he was offering and more online reputation evidence. That being said,
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
's system would have been less expensive by a few hundred bucks, and he's actually much more responsive to phone calls than the other contractor who had the "better" (by which I mean, more documented) reputation. Also, this company's operation is truly a family operation, which means you are not paying for upkeep of a fleet of trucks as part of your quote (he has 3 employees. He seems to be teaching his son the ropes, as well). At the time of this writing,
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
's operation is insured (which means if his guys fall off your rickety 50-year-old attic ladder, you are not liable to pay for their medical fees). Although he hasn't been running this business for long (just a few years), he previously worked with a larger company and is clearly very knowledgeable. He didn't mind answering my many, many questions, even when I called after hours to ask them. Again, I was very impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. I would definitely use this company in the future if needed.

, the bidder, was timely and efficient. Unlike a previous contractor who said we needed to replace our 10 year old system,
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
indicated the system was in good working order but the coils needed replacing. Those assigned to install the coils, under the supervision of
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
, arrived at the designated time, placed tarps on the floor, and wore disposable covers over their shoes to protect the floors. They completed the job in about 2 1/2 hours. A second problem that
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
thought would be solved with the new coils resumed ( a loud thumping noise when the system was running). I called
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
the following day; he returned that afternoon to investigate the situation. When the system did not make the noise, he remained at the house, checking the outside unit, and waited until the noise resumed. After waiting and ultimately hearing the sound,
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
thought additional fluid in the unit might solve the issue, and though he did not have time to fill the unit, he called a colleague who came and put in the fluid. In addition, he contacted the manufacturer of the unit, and ordered the module that the manufacturer predicted needed to be replaced.
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
said he would wait to see if the additional fluid solved the thumping noise before installing the module (which he could return if it wasn't needed). The noise resumed, and the next day
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
installed the new module. The module was more expensive than we anticipated, though
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
warned it would be expensive. He was apologetic for the cost, saying that the unit was not being damaged by the sound if we wished to leave it. We chose to install the module. The unit is cooling better than ever and there is no more noise from the unit.
We feel we received the service for which we paid, and are very pleased with

"He also checked the amp draw on the fan and the compressor, which were within the guidelines for good. He checked the refrigerant system and the Freon level. The system is operating good at this time. The system came on immediately and cooled the house quickly. The young tech was polite, professional, and knew exactly what he was doing. I found
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
on Angie's list and I am very happy with their work and my choice to use

"I called
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Heating for a second opinion on an 8 year old heat pump. The company that installed the heat pump and serviced it biannually told me that I needed to replace the compressor and
recommended that at the same time I replace the condenser. The estimated cost was $3000. It didn’t make sense to me that an 8 year old system that had been maintained regularly and run modestly in terms of cooling/heating temperatures should need such an extensive and expensive repair.
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the owner of
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
A.C., did a thorough, detailed 2 hour analysis of the system with me by his side so that he could explain the existing problems with the system. The crux of the problem were major wiring problems that both caused the system to run at only 2/3 of its capacity and also lead to the low amp readings on the basis of which the previous technician recommended replacing the compressor and condenser. In short, the compressor and condenser were working fine; what was needed was to locate the source of the wiring problems.
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
discovered multiple wiring problems; he explained that in order to get the system to work, the original installers had “fudged” the wiring and in the process had severely damaged the primary circuit board, which had to be replaced in order to correct the wiring problems. Additionally,
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
recommended repairs to get the system to work at maximum efficiency. In the end,
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
’s repairs cost 1/3 ($1,300) of the cost of replacing the compressor/condenser ($3,000), which would still not have resolved the original wiring problem. The A.C. is now functioning beautifully, including being able to easily lower the house temperature to the low 70’s when we have guests, something it was not previously able to do when it was functioning at only 2/3 of its full capacity.
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
has excellent interpersonal skills, is extremely knowledgeable and articulate in explaining repairs as well as how to keep a system running efficiently. We will switch our regular heat pump maintenance to
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
whose honesty and technical skills I absolutely trust.

"When he told me that I needed a new coil, he said that he called
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
and learned that there was only a five year warranty, so I was out of luck. He called his supervisor, who quoted around $3600 for a new one. Then because I'm a member, I got a 5% discount which brought it down to about $3400. He said that the unit was 7 years old and for that price, I could get a whole new unit. He called his boss, and got the price of the new
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
unit of $5100. This guy would be a good used car salesman. Talked fast, wrote numbers on his yellow pad, told me that they could install it in 2 days, much better deal, etc.
I applied for instant credit with GE Capital and was approved for 0% interest for a year. I did not sign any sales contract.
I mentioned to my electrician about the problems I had with my units and he suggested an AC guy that he'd worked with for years.
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
of Apex Air came today and said that my coil WAS under warranty and furthermore, I don't need a whole new unit. He will do the work for $950.
I cancelled the installation with One Hour. It pays to get a second opinion!

"Angel showed up on time on a Sunday and repaired the problem in an hour. His price was reasonable. I called him at 10pm and made an apt. for 9:30am. The problem was fixed within the hour.

Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
was wonderful and very knowledgeable. He performed an adjustment to a vent that made a huge difference. Others told us we needed new ones. He also was very up to date about insulation. While 4 other vendors advised us to add insulation, he explained why he didn't think it was a good idea. Made total sense! We went ahead and had a whole system installed.
Houston HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his crew were very professional and very helpful as well. Since the installation last week, we've had a few questions and our calls have all been promptly returned. We are happy! Thanks you guys!
