Houston cleaner delivers quality chemical-free

Founded in 2008, Naturalcare Cleaning Service won the Super Service Award for House cleaning in 2010. “We have really taken off,” Henley says. “Last year we grew 400 percent, going from three employees to 15.”

After several years as a stay-at-home mother and local organic co-op volunteer, Diana Henley decided to re-enter the workforce, and in doing so, make her profession match her passion for green living. To that end, she founded Naturalcare Cleaning Service, which offers clients chemical-free housecleaning. “I saw something missing in the cleaning industry: a truly natural cleaning service,” she says. “I was already living a more natural life at home, so it was an extension of who I was becoming.”

Janet Early of Houston says Naturalcare’s green practices led to no loss in quality. “I was amazed at what their cleaning could do,” she says. “They got my master bedroom sparkling clean.”Ditto for member Sara McIntosh of Houston. “I’m a big fan — they are by far the best cleaning service I’ve ever found,” she say. “I enjoy seeing them each time and knowing they aren’t cleaning my home at the expense of their own health.”

Naturalcare uses a Ladybug vapor steam cleaner, which Henley says kills dust mites, fleas and bed bugs, and neutralizes odors and eliminates mold without leaving a residue. “Water in the form of dry vapor steam is so effective it can clean and disinfect surfaces better than conventional cleaners on the market,” she says. The dry steam’s extremely high temperature, about 200 degrees, is the reason behind its effectiveness, Henley says.

In addition to cleaning without chemicals, Naturalcare offers customers fragrance-free cleaning options and an allergen elimination treatment. “We have clients with allergies, asthma and chemical sensitivities who really benefit from the chemical-free clean,” she says.

Henley puts an emphasis on staying on top of the most innovative cleaning methods. “Right now, we are experimenting with a new tool that electrifies water and creates a chemical-free cleaning solution that kills germs and bacteria, and removes grease and dirt,” she says.
