Houston Hospitals Reviews

"They got it better. It's an excellent hospital. They are great. My mother-in-law first went to another hospital, and they did a lousy job. They sent her to a nursing home which made her worse. So we rushed her to Methodist Hospital who did an excellent job. They then sent her to another hospital, and they were absolutely wonderful."

"The care and treatment went (goes) EXTREMELY WELL. Advised me on avoiding areas of easy germ transfer. Directives on medications to take and ones to avoid. I would never consider going anywhere else.
Directives on diet; on what to do in case of illness.

Supplied me with contact information if I needed them.

PROVIDED A NOTEBOOK ON COMPLETE CHEMOTHERAPY CARE AND EFFECTS....everything you could ever want or need to know.

I can't say enough good things about M.D.

. The caregivers and everyone there are superior in their field and character. Their caring attitude and actions are second to none. They are like family.

The only place to go for cancer treatment is M.D.

"We took our son to Methodist Hospital for treatment for major depression with suicidal tendencies. We have no issue with the care received in the emergency room. He was placed from the emergency room into the psychiatric floor of the hospital under Dr.

's care who is the director of the Psychiatric Unit. We were very unhappy with the cold and dispassionate attitude of Dr.

. Visiting hours are restricted to only a few hours a day and she was never available to discuss our son's case during those hours. We left numerous messages that were placed on our son's chart for Dr

to call us with no response. An Intern did call once but was not able to answer our questions regarding his care other than deferring that it was Dr

who directed everything. According to the nursing staff at the hospital the Dr made no adjustment to the medications he was taking prior to admission which obviously was unsuccessful. She spent less than 5 minutes per day personally 1 on 1 with our son. We brought him to the hospital for treatment and instead received virtually nothing which in his case we felt was neglect. If anyone is given a choice we strongly recommend you stay away from Dr

and Methodist Hospital in Houston for Psychiatric care while Dr

"I was very happy with my last visit. I was able to see someone when I wanted to see them. I was given attention by the doctor I wanted. I felt happy about the diagnosis. He actually went through the internet and printed out a whole load of stuff on it. He told me and printed out exercises for me. I used to have x-rays taken along with all sorts of stuff. They told me to stop using it for a while and to do the exercises. They gave me exactly what I needed. So, I was pleased with my last visit and not the organization as a whole. I have had past experiences with them which weren?t that great. "

"My mother was taken to this medical center by ambulance as she was afraid she was having a heart attack (this wasn't the case tho). They kept her there for tests and on a Friday I met with doctor and while there were several minor issues (she was 84), they had found nothing that was life threatening; 5 days later she died. The cause of death was septic shock. On the day before she went into intensive care, she had a test with dye and that evening they were concerned about her potassium level and kidneys; doing her stay, this had not been an issue before. While she was in intensive care, I found that the test she had was for a slip disc which she had for years and she told them it was not necessary to do anything about it. Since my mother had just moved here, she did not have a primary physician so we we assigned one by the hospital. He proceeded to send in a neurologist (as well as many others now that I'm getting bills from and am not sure that they even visited my mother) and this neurologist is the one that ordered that last test. I've talked to many of my neighbors later and found near death experiences they've also encountered at this hospital. When she died, the primary physician said I think she had a heart attack and after all she was 84. He then put on death certificate that she had a kidney infection for 5 days; which he didn't indicate when I met with him. I will give credit to their emergency room services and to their intensive care unit."

"They have specialty care unit. They took very good care of my father. They also have a rehab center. They were friendly and professional. It was convenient as my father?s doctor works in a diagnostic clinic across the street, so he got to see him twice a day."

"He is very helpful, he would talk to me about everything that was going to happen. He was very reassuring. He took care in educating on my treatments. His surgery skills are excellent, there is very little pain and i have had little scaring. St.

"I arrived at the hospital imaging center and was greeted by a receptionist. I gave the receptionist my name and was asked to have a seat in the waiting area. I waited approximately 20 minutes before being called. The technician told me the scan would take approximately 3 minutes. The technician escorted me to and from the CT scanner site."
