Energy Audit Reviews in Houston

We were very pleased with the company. They were very professional. The young man who did our energy audit was very helpful in explaining what we needed and how much it would cost. He told us that we were eligible for a tax rebate which made the job more affordable. The workman arrived promptly as scheduled and went right to work. They worked until the job was done which was on the same day as promised. One day they installed the solar fans which just took a little while and the next day they did everything else. They did a great job cleaning up after themselves. We didn't have to do a thing. Our attic looks great. We are now looking forward to lower energy bills. We are on balanced billing so won't see the savings until next summer. I have found that the air conditioner seems to work less on warm days and the furance works less on cold days. We have a fairly new air conditioner and are looking to prolonging it's life by it not having to work so hard. We have tried to do everything that we can to make our house energy efficient and were delighted to find out about
Company and would hardily recommend them to anyone interested in making their house
and saving money on their energy bills.

The free home energy audit went very well.
came ten minutes ahead of schedule, sat down with me to explain the services that he specialized in, listened to my concerns regarding my energy consumption, performed a thorough walk-thru of the home and did not try to sell me anything. He recommended additional attic installation after one year. In less than 30-45 minutes he completed the audit. Since he was honest, I asked him to give me a call in a year so that I could purchase additional installation through his company. The one thing that I really appreciated was the information he provided regarding home maintenance, such as filter replacement schedules for homes with pets, AC tuneups, thermometer settings, etc.

Energy Audit reviews in Houston

He went up to check the air conditioner to see how it was functioning. He made the repair that was needed to make it work for another summer. They also had a service to come out and do energy audit on my house. I think I paid $250 for that. I paid a couple of hundred dollars, I forgot how much I paid. They came out and set it up to do energy audit on my house and that turned out to be a disaster. They did somethings that were helpful. They also did somethings that caused me to have repairs made, that costed more than what they did. Therefore, their energy audit thing was aweful. My overall experience with them was lousy. In terms of responsiveness, the energy audit people kept making appointments and changing them. In terms of professionalism, as far the air conditioning guys were concerned they were fine. They went up the attic, they did their job, they came back downstairs, told me what I needed, what it would cost and they did it. The energy audit guys; I stayed in my kitchen when they were here. There were three young men; one boss, one worker and a helper. Before the day was over, those young men, all came in my kitchen and started telling me all about their personal lives. I knew all about their wives, their child and their day care. They interjected their personal lives. I guess I sounded Iike somebody’s grandmom and they just came into the kitchen and started dumping all these stuff on me. It was very unprofessional. I would not use their services again in the future. I just had somebody else come in and replace both my air conditioners and furnaces for $15000, so that’s a lost opportunity for

The work involved running duct work between my 2nd and 3rd floors; from the wine cellar to the outside condensing unit. I didn't think it was possible without pulling sheet rock, but they did it. They worked much harder than I believe they estimated, but they stuck to the quoted price.

After the work was done,

came back and tuned the unit a couple of times no charge. His knowledge of walk-in refrigeration units makes him perfect for today's wine cellars.

and his crew tend to show up a bit late, but once you are past that, they are extremely proficient at their art.

It took 1 week for me to get the report. A thorough report was given to me showing the improvements I could make and an estimate of how much my energy bills would go down. They do provide the services that they recommend, but I could use someone else if I wanted. I did notice that their solar panel estimate was about 10% less than an estimate I had done 3 years ago from another company. Note: I listed Air Duct cleaning, but what they recommended was having the air ducts sealed so that I'm not cooling or heating the attic. I didn't see air duct sealing as an option. There are more thorough energy audits that can be done using an infrared sensor and a blower test, but I went for the least expensive audit since my energy use is already rather low.

They did a good job but it took them five weeks before I got the report. What I was unaware of, was that they sold everything that they recommend. They took so long and they wanted to come out to talk to me about it but I had them send it to me instead because I felt that they wanted to sell me their services. They are pretty costly but they did find the leaks.

I had a bit of a run around with these guys. When I called to set up an appointment for an Angie's list deal, I was referred to a worker

From the initial call for service to the completion of the job they were professional and performed a good job. I honestly contacted them after waiting a couple of weeks on another A/C company to handle my project. The other company kept delaying since my needs were not urgent and finally I gave up.

handled the job just two days after I first contacted them. They will be my A/C-Heating company from now on.

I bought a Big Deal through Angies’s List for a “Complete Home Energy, Ventilation and Window Inspection” on Tuesday, (Mar 19). I called
Houston Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
later that day to schedule a date and was told they could be there “at 8:00 Thursday”. I got up a little early on Thursday (Mar 21) and no one had arrived by 10:00 am. I called and was told that I was scheduled for the next Thursday (Mar 28). This was a little annoying but misunderstanding happen I guess. The following Thursday (Mar 28)
Houston Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
arrived on time and he was friendly and courteous. He conducted the inspection which mostly included a 15 minute walk through and visual inspection of the attic and a water hardness test. The inspection did not include a blower door tests, thermographic inspection (infrared scanning), the PFT (perfluorocarbon tracer gas) technique, or other methods described in a home energy audit at energy.gov. I had some questions about the electrical system in the house and the breakers and was told someone else would have to look at electrical issues on some other occasion. We talked for another half an hour and I got some quotes on insulation and solar panels. I got some useful information on insulation, windows, and solar panels however, all and all, I though the inspection was a little casual and not as rigorous and comprehensive as I had hoped.
I have used
Houston Energy Consultants Provider Name Locked
for plumbing in the past, was generally pleased with the work, and might use them again for plumbing however, I would not use or recommend this particular service (energy audit) again.

The existing roof ridge vent does not seem to cool my attic sufficiently and there were no other vents. So I jumped on this deal to try and reduce my cooling demand this summer. They have not been in place long enough for me to assess any real effect from the product yet. The company was very pleasant and proactive to work with. Whenever I had questions or needed additional documentation they quickly accommodated my request. I am considering adding more insulation to my attic and will consider them for the job.
