I think my experience with
's Front Door
is what the Angie's List experince is supposed to be like.
Our townhouse is about 5 years old and we purchased it a year ago. The inspector pointed out the damaged weatherstripping in his report, but we put off getting it replaced. I finally decided to do something about it this spring when I noticed that the stain on the front door appeared to be wearing off. I went to Angies List to do some research and, based on the reviews, contacted
's.
My first point of contact was
, who explained the entire process to me over the phone. I could have had the work done much sooner, but I needed to schedule on a Saturday, so I had to wait about 8 weeks.
did call me whenever an earlier appointment was available, but I decided to wait it out. My point being, it is not that difficult to schedule the work, if you don't need a Saturday.
I got a reminder call prior to the big day with the names of the workers who would be there. They turned up about 15 minutes early. I showed them each of the doors and then they went to work. It took a couple of hours but we hardly knew they were there. Dudey and
were super nice and explained how to inspect the weather stripping and replace it on our own.
I was amazed at what a difference it made on the front door! It looks brand new!
Overall, it was a 5-star experience and I would definitely recommend Ricks to anyone needing this kind of work done.

The pricing seems unreasonably high. To repair a solid wood front door by replacing the hinges and flashing the estimate was $900. I was also quoted $200 to install a deadbolt (including the cost of a standard deadbolt). I will say they were very professional and punctual, but the pricing seems high.

After a break-in where the back door was brute forced open, we had to see about getting it replaced and hopefully reinforced. The
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
people came out, assessed the damage, and made a reasonable estimate. They were able to come out and complete the work within a week of approval.
All work was done professionally, and they were careful to clean up after themselves. When a minor issue arose on 1 doorknob due to previous wear and tear on the door frame, they came out and resolved it within a day.
Good professional operation that I would be happy to do business with again.

They were on time, finished in one day and the doors looked good. Wish they had painted them too. Great job!

Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
and his employees were very professional. They were extremely punctual and worked really hard. They painted the interior of our house and fixed our bathroom
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
before painting it too since we had work done to it that was not finished. Our base board in the living room was also bad and warping because of water damage.
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
cut and made a new baseboard and replaced the old, then painted it. Overall, I'm extremely happy with the work and will definitely use them again. I forgot to mention earlier that they also painted outside our house a couple years ago. His estimate is very competitive and I know we got a good deal because I got some from other companies just to see how the

rate was for all the work that we wanted done. He doesn't nickle and dime you, which I appreciated.

To get a hold of
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, you will probably have to e-mail them and call them to get a response. My reason for calling them was for a repair. They are more inclined to be installers, but will work with you if he thinks he can repair your door. Be prepared to do some of the leg work for your repair. He may send you to the Hardware store to get some of the needed supplies (at his direction). The reason as I stated before, is that these guys are more of a door installer than door fixers.
That being said, you couldn't ask for a more thorough and professional job. I went to the hardware to get some weatherstripping (mine had been painted over) and a new door sweep. The installer showed up propmptly at the designated time (on a Sunday!) and spent several hours taking the frame apart and basically re-squaring

frame and reinstalling weatherstripping. As it turns out, it wasn't installed properly in the first place. There were other problems that he noticed and fixed. It was obvious the guy had a lot of experience. Now the doors work magnificently and I am very happy that I can use them again.

and Dudey (Truck 4) arrived 15 minutes early the day the work was done and waited patiently in their truck until I noticed them and let them begin work. The work involved removing the front doors, stripping the old varnish and stain off the doors to bare wood, re-staining the doors the color we selected, and applying 4 coats of Helmsman UV protecting spar urethane, re-installing the doors, putting up a paper

to protect the doors while the urethane cured (5 days), and re-installing the new hardward on the day the protective paper could be removed (a second trip at no extra charge). The door work was done under a cover they provided in the street behind their truck so we didn't have anything to clean up.

and Dudey were professional, knowledgeable, experienced, friendly, and neat. What more could you ask?
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
initially called to explain the work and was very patient and thorough. He described the process in detail and explained the sequence. He gave me the pricing and answered all my questions.
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, the scheduling coordinator, was also fantastic. I had a few questions left over (they popped up several days after I spoke to
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
or I'm sure he would have answered them) and she thoroughly answered all of them It was obvious that she also was quite familiar with the operation. She too was patient and thorough.
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
, Office Manager, was also quite helpful. She sent me everything I asked for (description of the work, insurance certificate) within a very short time of my request, without hesitation. The final outcome is beautiful and our doors look brand new. They even open and close better than before the work! This is a superbly run company and their attention to detail is remarkable. I almost hope I have some door problems so I can use them again! They were all great and anyone needing services they provide should definitely call them.

Purchased a deal on Angie's List, and received a very fast response and offer of same day service! The crew then called and asked for directions - I asked if they could give me a 30-minute heads-up of when they would arrive so that I could remain at work until that point. They called later and advised that they were en route and about 20 minutes away. I told them I would be right there and hauled home....and waited... en route included a stop for late lunch that turned into an extra hour (would have been nice to know this so that I could have stayed later at work). Nonetheless, they did a great job on the door, and provided good information and recommendations. Would definitely use again.

He was very good at the design part. He suggested many styles which would coordinate with our existing front door. He was very patient with our questions and our time frame.
He had us pick out the raw materials at his preferred lumber store. In this store we were able to pick from several different door styles. We eventually picked out window panes with a grove cut in the glass. Very pretty. The materials were dropped off at our house by the lumber yard a few days later. We were not so happy with the quality of the wood - there were many splinters and frayed edges, especially on the wood glazing of the windows. Of course this is a supplier issue, not exactly an issue with
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
. However, since
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
do not do any painting or staining or finishing, it became our problem.
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
installed the doors very quickly - taking perhaps 4 or 5 hours. The final installed product is very sturdy and well designed. However, there were a couple of nails that ran astray that I requested he fix - which he did. But I would have expected that he would have done that without asking. Also, the lumber company did not deliver a long enough piece of molding to run the entire length of
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
opening. So
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
create a butt joint to fix the problem - which I didn't like. So
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
came back and put a nice, full length molding properly.
Overall, we are very happy with the design and solid installation. The only issue we had was the splintering of the wood product itself. We were also required to find our own painters to finish the wood.
Houston Door Installers Provider Name Locked
told us that a good painter could cover us these issues. However, the painters were not able to completely fix that issue.

WOW....what a great experience. They showed up on time. They brought a loaner door to use in the interim; it wasn't ugly, it wasn't gorgeous, it was adequate. The guy who came to get the door and reinstall the refinished door had great customer service skills. They told me the day they took the door, exactly when they would return the door. Once again, they were on time. The door looks fabulous!!!! It looks new...no kidding. They did a marvelous job. I asked them to call me when they thought I would need maintenance.
