Contractor, client go back and forth on swing installation

COMPLAINT: Wilma Feitel, Houston

"I hired EMS Home Remodeling of Baytown, Texas, to install a front porch swing. They spent about 30 to 45 minutes installing the swing. Last week, I sat in the swing and it fell down. Weighing 115 pounds, I should not have brought the swing down. I asked for a refund so I could have someone else fix it."

DESIRED RESOLUTION: "I'd like to have my money back."

COMPANY RESPONSE: Edward Schwartz, owner, EMS Home Remodeling

"The swing was not made for the height of ceiling it was attached to. We recommended she return it, though she chose not to and had us install it anyway."

STATUS: Resolved

Editor's note: Feitel informed Angie's List that she received a refund check of $120 from Schwartz.
