Closet Design Reviews in Houston

We had a very positive experience with the '
'. We had their system installed in the master closet of our new house in February of 2014. The designer who worked with us,
, was excellent. Her design made made it possible to build the closet the way we had envisioned it. Our closet is only 83 inches wide, yet, we did not want to install an open hanging system. We prefer doors in front of our hanging units.
listened to our needs, inspected our closet in the townhouse we lived in during construction, and translated our ideas and wishes into her design. It was perfect. Her design utilizes the space to an optimum. We have only two open hanging units now, all other hanging units have doors. It looks great and it is still a spacious closet. - The installation also went well. - When
initially came out to our house for the estimate, we were close to the move-in date but had not decided on a closet system. She was able to work our order in quickly due to a cancellation. Delivery and installation happened as scheduled. The two installers worked all day, were careful with the product they delivered and did a good job. There was one issue afterwards. The sliding door to the closet was slightly damaged during installation but the company sent a carpenter who was skilled and experienced. He repaired the door perfectly.
carried the costs for repair and repainting of the door. We are very pleased with our master closet.

The overall process went well.
The designer came to our home and worked with my husband to plan out the design. We had other quotes but went with Spaceman because the design the designer came up with matched our needs the best....more /> She sent over the design via email and we went back and forth together to fine tune it.
There were some delays with communicating on the designer side, but we managed to get a final design confirmed and a contract signed.
The tear out guy was punctual and professional. He took care of removing all the old material, patching and painting the walls. I had gotten a
of paint so he did the entire closet rather than just the patches, yah!
The install guy was also punctual and professional. He did the work efficiently without disrupting my while I was working from home.
The closet is fabulous and everyone loves the photos.
The garage slatwall didn't cover as much of the wall as we thought it would, but I guess we mis-read the design and went by the relative position of the garage elements rather than the written square footage.
I would recommend them for a custom closet for sure!

We were very happy with both the design and the installation of our new master closet.
They listened very carefully to all our thoughts and ideas for the closet, and came back with a design that exactly fitted our needs. The design incorporated several features that maximized the storage space available despite the fact we are both short - including pull down bars for storage racks.
The installation team were very punctual, clean and did excellent work.
The closet ended up better than we imagined. Thank you Spaceman!!

After 18 months of looking for a contractor we finally went with
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
. Reason being, we were literally able to "put" our hands on some of his previous work. Instead of just giving recommendations, he provided places to go! His prices were competitive, not to low, not to high. His contract was an easy read, protecting both parties. His payment terms were more than acceptable, wanting 50% / 25% / 25%, with the last 25% help until AFTER the punch list was finished. Did I mention he accepts credit cards as well? On starting the project his guys put protective paper on my living room wood floors, plastic over the bedroom carpets and plastic drapes over the doors, all to help protect from the demo. When doing the demo, they took very special care of the other flooring and did not run wheel

through the house, potentially hitting furniture and door jambs. We were so pleased with the bathroom that while here we had him do the woodwork and built ins in the master closet. I would recommend him!

Plain and
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
, this guy is a fraud! I had 2 service visits from the owner, Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
. The second visit was to correct inefficiencies from the first visit and for some new items. This cost me additional money for the repairs to the repairs. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
mainly supervises his employees, who may or may not be illegal immigrants. And by supervise, I mean that Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
spends the majority of the time berating and speaking in an inappropriate manner to his employees. My wife and I both felt badly for the workers, as the comments that they were forced to receive were inappropriate and offensive to say the least. Furthermore, Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
made racially offensive remarks in regards to one of my neighbors.

The ceiling fans, the grout work, the lighting installation, the chandelier installation, and the faucet installations went well. The television installation is another story. My primary television was installed, but Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
had to return in order to make the installation look acceptable by installing trim at our request, as after his first attempt, there was exposed wall beneath the television. The surround sound, after 2 attempts, still does not work properly. I refused to pay for a third visit to correct a problem that was not properly fixed on the first visit. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
also managed to sell us on the need for a blue tooth device to connect the audio, gaming, and DVD system to the television. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
sold us on a $500 piece of equipment that does not work. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
refuses to refund the costs and has offered to return (for a fee) in order to reset the device. It should also be noted that Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
collected a personal check for this equipment, but will not provide a receipt. By not providing a receipt for this equipment, I am unable to claim the sales tax on this purchase for Federal Tax purposes. Furthermore, I am unable to check on warranty information as well. This equipment retails at numerous stores for $439.99, yet Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
billed me $500 for this piece of equipment.

In regards to the second television installation, Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
completed this task himself. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
installed a
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
with a shelf, and simply connected the cable box to the television, leaving the wiring exposed. This was unacceptable. After returning the second time, and at my expense, Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
ran the wiring through the wall. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
patched the wall with the quality and precision of a 4th grader, as demonstrated in accompanying photos.

In regards to the hanging of the closet door, again, this work was pitiful to say the least. The door is crooked and misaligned, which is reprehensible since Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
claims that doors are his specialty. As clearly demonstrated in accompanying photo, the door was so misaligned, that I am able to see into the closet itself.

Finally, since we had just moved from out of state, we had a sofa and love seat which was less than 2 years old, that we intended to donate to a charitable organization. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
convinced us to donate these goods to his church, and offered to provide a receipt from a recognized charitable organization. Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
took possession of the furniture and failed to provide a receipt. When confronted, Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
has provided a plethora of excuses. I still have not received a receipt.
In short, this provider is a fraud! The fact that he openly touts himself as a, "good Christian", makes me sick to my stomach as he has lied, and stolen from me. Lesson learned, and I will not recommend nor use this provider for anything in the future. I consider my payments for services to be a cost for a lesson learned, and I am positive that I will never see the receipt that was promised to me again.

The services that I received from HRR Services was sub-par to say the least. After the initial service, Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
had to return to make repairs to his repairs. This was done at my expense. Upon completion, even though the work was not performed satisfactorily, I was not going to have Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
return only to charge me again.

Since posting my factual review, Mr.
Houston Closet Designers Provider Name Locked
has contacted me via e-mail and is threatening and harassing me because of this review. This action is deplorable.

Spaceman did a wonderful job. The job was performed as promised. Workers were courteous, punctual and left the space cleaner than they found it. We paid $379 for $800 worth of closet organization and then added a few extras. The total closet project value was $1,300, but we only paid $879. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

Designer came, listened to our needs, measured and suggested a solution. The installer was very professional and considerate. I was under the impression that individual shoe cubbies were to be installed in one cabinet, but regular adjustable shelves were installed instead. After I got over my initial disappointment of not getting what I expected, I realized that the regular shelving gives much more flexibility and I am very extremely happy with the end results.

Overall the process was very good and the company was responsive. They did the work we agreed to at the time and rate agreed upon. They recommended someone to do the tear out of the old pantry who also did a good job. Overall I am pleased.
- Mary R.

I ended up choosing SpaceMan over another closet redesign company for the following reasons:
1. I felt like their original design was a more optimal use of the space.
2. Their original design allowed us to use more vertical space for storage (i.e. they designed the system to a greater height for additional storage)
3. Their designer came in, asked me several questions about what he saw in the closet, what i was looking for and then told me what he was thinking. After a bit of discussion, he did the design right there on the spot in 10 minutes while I browsed through their catalog of knobs, finishes and accessories (and lots of accolades and client thank you letters)
My only ding against them is that the design ended up removing three sets of hooks from a short wall and replacing them with only a single rack. This is my fault for not catching, but I don't think it was an effective use of the space, and would have been a cost savings had I paid more attention. Now my husband is going to have to remove the SpaceMan-installed rack and replace the ones that were removed.
Other than that, I'm completely happy with the process, the installation, mostly happy with the cost, and slightly grumpy with myself for trying to move too quickly through the process and overlooking the issue above.
I would definitely recommend SpaceMan, and still would have chosen them had I noticed the rack issue in advance.
