and team were prompt, friendly, conscientious, flexible, and a pleasure to work with. They packed some, and moved all of the contents from our two, three-bedroom homes, into one, six-bedroom home. The move took three days, one day longer than expected because we were delayed waiting for the newly refinished floors in the new house to fully cure - it was also pouring rain on the intended move-in day. Through all of that, these guys were incredibly accommodating and sensitive to our position; they shifted our move dates out a bit where they could and even put the items from one house into a two-car garage, and then moved them into the house later once the floors had cured. Our move was a success thanks to them.
Mr. has a large box truck and a full set of tools in case a piece of furniture or appliance needs to be disassembled in order to move. Mr. and EJ are professional and personable and have earned my repeat business. I highly recommend them.
The problem started with the fact that probably over-booked himself that week and had to send sub-standard people to help pack me. The two women he sent took 6 hours to pack up my tiny 7x7 foot kitchen with no counter space. Both of them were older and obviously moonlighters. One was only here in the US on vacation to visit her daughter and did not speak much English. She was probably around 70 years old. Because of them, and his crew had to work all the harder on the moving day andso did I. While the women were packing I was also packing (at a much faster rate, too). The point was that was supposed to handle all the packing. As it turned out, I ended up packing half of my stuff myself. In the end, they never made it into my bedroom or my linen closet, which I had to pack myself.
The other problem was on the next day (the day of the actual move) came with 3 guys, 2 of which had very little moving experience and were dead tired from admittedly not getting enough sleep the night before. At one point during the move he sent them down to my basement storage room and I became their "boss" because without me they would not have known what to do. Both were nice guys but not really up to par that day and did not move fast enough nor follow directions that well. When we got back to the house, they did not put everything where I asked it to go, and did not put down carpet protection in the bedrooms. They put down some moving cloths but it was not enough so I stopped them from doing more in the bedroom and as a result, my bed was never completely put together nor my nightstands placed. I was so exhausted by the time it was all over that when asked me if everything was where I wanted it, I said "yes" because I had no more patience or energy to deal with them.
What doesn't know is that just 2 years before he moved me I moved upstairs in the same apartment building to a nicer apartment. My husband and I did that all ourselves. I did all the packing and moving of small items and my husband and some friends moved the furniture, and that building doesn't even have an elevator. If I had all that much stuff two people in their mid to late 50s like us would never have been able to handle it. Also, my storage room was nowhere near filled to capacity. I have much less stuff now than I did 15 years ago when I had a barbecue grill, outdoor furniture, etc. And I don't even have kids or pets, or a full set of dishware. I used to have a stoneware and china service, each for 8 people that I don't even have anymore. I know what people have and I don't have anywhere near what families have. I just think it was 's responsibility to adequately assess our needs and he didn't do that so well or things would have gone more smoothly and taken less time. I am sorry to blemish his otherwise stellar reputation but I have to be honest.
Another positive I did not mention in my first review is that and the crew were more than happy to take away some unwantedfurniture plus and old washer and dryer, which is something we very much appreciated, and which is worth a lot because having stuff taken away can be expensive. Because of that, I have changed my overall grade rating to a C from a D. I am sure that probably deserves his reputation, he just goofed when it came to my move. I know no one is perfect, I just wish that if was going to goof, it wasn't on my move.”
From the beginning, the experience was seamless. Every time I called the office, an actual human being (!) - usually - answered and was able to give me clear and helpful answers to my questions. The day before our move, and came out to our house and did inventory. They were nice and efficient and their efforts saved us lots of time the next day. The crew that moved us out - , , , and crew leader - were awesome: friendly, careful, fast, and hard-working. They came right on time and their efforts allowed us to get on the road to our new home even earlier than we'd expected.
Things went great with the delivery too. and were joined by Skip and and they got us moved into our new home quickly and with great attitudes. They went above and beyond, helping my husband set up his office furniture just so.
I've worked with several professional moving companies over the years and I can say without hesitation that was far and away the best of the bunch. The thing that really set them apart was the confidence they instilled from the outset that everything would go smoothly. Not having to worry about anything made a stressful process that much easier.
