We contacted Excel in the winter 2014 to obtain process information and quotes for a full renovation.
, an Excel designer (and miracle worker!) promptly contacted us to schedule an appointment to come and check out our kitchen. He made himself available to our schedule, meaning he would often come to the house in the evenings (after we were done with work)-- huge plus.
was a professional from the start and communicated with us their processes and would answer our questions during the design phase of the project. He's also a huge animal lover-- so those of you who may be reading this with concerns about your pets are in for a really great experience-- my rescued dog handled all of the daily "visitors" in stride. It was approximately 2 weeks to obtain the initial design and consultation to review the plans and see material choices to complement the plan. I was really impressed how well
was able to "get us" from the two visits in our home-- you can tell he has an apt for design and to retain the character of the rest of the house-- not to mention making design suggestions that provide the best ROI. After the contract signature, it was approximately 6 weeks for the cabinets to be built;
then handed our project over to the "construction" side of the company.
and Bill Browning was the project manager and lead carpenter-- both complete professionals and met with us before the renovation commenced to explain the timeline, project processes and schedule. They estimated they would be able to complete the project in 3 weeks if everything worked to their plan-- they were right on the money. All of the employees arrived on time to the worksite and were professional in every interaction. They kept the work area insanely clean and removed all debris at the end of each day-- if you didn't see the physical progress each night you'd almost be shocked to know they were there earlier in the day. All of the contracted specialists (plumber, dry wall, painter, tile installer, etc.) were great-- you can tell they've all been working with Excel for years and are familiar with their work expectations and are able to deliver. Is Excel more expensive than a DIY? Yes. Heck yes. But.... having Excel deal with every detail and aspect of this major project was worth every penny. I trusted every person that represented Excel in my house (when we weren't there) and with my beloved dog. We quickly realized they meant business and stuck to their word. They communicated with us immediately if needed-- which wasn't often, as their extreme pre-construction organization mitigated any potential issues. Ultimately, we went with Excel because my husband and I aren't designers- we aren't construction experts- we had no clue as to what was involved with a kitchen renovation but didn't want to gamble with dealing with contractors all by ourself and whatever logistical nightmares that would involve. We LOVE our kitchen. Words cannot describe how happy we are with the final result.
made this house into a HOME. When we economically recover from this adventure, we will be sure to contact Excel again for all of our future design plans and ideas. Call
today. You won't regret it.

Excel did a great job installing a bathroom on the third floor of our row home in Harrisburg city. The designer, Pat, was great to work with and very responsive to all of our requests. The crew was very thorough in checking things out before they got started, so we knew what to expect (and knew what the costs would be). We were well-informed of a couple potential problems that they might run into (because of the age of our home), and we knew what their contingency plans were for working through those problems. We are so very happy with the finished product - everything in the bathroom meets or exceeds our expectations. Also, they finished a week ahead of schedule!
Our one complaint was the work that extended into a guest bedroom - they had to tear up a wall in the guest room to run pipes, and when they did this work, they did not cover anything or do anything to contain the dust and rubble that resulted. We knew they might have to do this at some point, but didn't know they would do it when they did. Since we were sleeping in the guest room through this work, that meant that our temporary bedroom was a mess. But their work in the master where they were adding the bathroom was very clean, with dust and dirt well-contained and cleaned up at the end of the job.

Perfect. CBC staff are always knowledgeable, professional, quality workers, trustworthy, timely, and responsive to home owner needs and concerns. It is great to have such an excellent contractor for all home updates and renovations; including significant to smaller size projects.

Consistently satisfied with outcomes
Good creative input when we were selecting designs, materials, finishes, etc.
The CBC showroom has a nice selection of materials but you are by no means limited to that. Cliff and his wife,

are always willing to look at new materials and suppliers and price out things you bring to them.
They never make you feel rushed or pressured in any way. Both Cliff and

are very knowledgable, easy to talk to and to work with.
Cliff is a cabinet-maker by trade and that translates to attention to detail, an understanding of materials, and a craftsman's perspective on not only his work, but his subcontractors and suppliers

hMost of our house is fairly traditional in design and decor, but we wanted to finish the basement with a very contemporary "metro" dance club design and decor. Clearly this was outside the norm for Cliff, but he embraced the idea and did great work. The "club" has been an enormous hit with our daughter and her friends, and delivered on our parenting strategy of providing a place where our daughter and friends would gather and have fun under our watchful eye ;)

I was very happy with

. Kiing. They were able to quote me a price over the phone with $50 wiggle room. The price came in at the top end and this was understandable due to a small complication that came up at the job.

was very professional and personable, explaining everything I needed explained. Unfortunately after a week, the line running to the fridge sprung a leak. I called and

There are not enough characters to fully explain our experience. We (my husband, grandson and myself) lived for approximately three weeks on take out, out of boxes and from under tarps. We experienced poor sales representative customer service, project not completed in a reasonable time frame due to lack of knowledge on sales rep., wrong product delivered, damaged product installed due to lack of quality control at the plant and/or hdyrg, product not installed "professionally" and product degradation before the job is even finished, and on and on.
We were told we would receive a free sink and faucet when signing the contract, oops, no, you do not. But were later told that was a mistake by her but “...if that would be a deal breaker...” I will see that you get a faucet. After some haggling with her supervisor, he offered us a $100 gift card in

of a faucet. We we later told by the installer that the gift card was only to be "relinquished upon signing off on the job." Even though the contract has faucet check marked.
Pointing out to initial installer that the crown molding was not level. he said it was and explained why it was. When my husband came home we retrieved a ladder and climbed up with a level (our cabinets are 42 inches in height and we are in our middle and late sixties) and found laminate shavings and saw dust he had left (already had this experience earlier in the project upon opening the refrigerator and being showered with laminate shavings as was the inside of the refrigerator) and that it was NOT aligned with the cabinet tops and was indeed NOT level. His supervisor on one of his visits agreed and the discussed solution was to pull off a portion, realign and reattach. Actual attempt to remedy: he watched while the “new” installer took a block of wood and hammered upward on the molding next to a right angle joint with his “special tools.”
Would this be acceptable in the home of his company president? It was disrespectful.
By this time, Home Depot area services manager is involved. Thanksgiving (four children/nine grandchildren) ruined. Called by hdyrg on December 20 to "install the doors." Wait, what about the other issues? We told them we would get back to them after the holiday.
Final (?!?) install/correction date of January 17/18, 2014 came. Same drill, clear counter tops, husband home from work to deal with it, as I no longer can. Again, with moving and storing items, two days of machining noise, glue, etc. Only to have a tool failure ruin the replacement laminate under the one wall of cabinets. In addition, find that the replaced laminate on another cabinet frame has grooved scratches.
Has smoothing of all edges been done? I do not know, as I left our galley (approximately 9'8" by 9'6") kitchen yesterday and am
not inclined to fully visit it yet. The kitchen, which the original installer told his supervisor, was going to be “a piece of
cake” job.

Cliff showed up on time and when promised. All the work was meticulosly done and beyond my expectations. The team was pleasant and helpful and very accomodating. It's rare to find honest, enthusiastic contractors today. I would not hesitate to rehire this company!
- Jennifer B.

All work was professionally completed in a very timely manner. Works areas were kept clean and tidy with minimal disruption to our daily lives. Cliff is a very skilled craftsman and was quite helpful in guiding me in decisions that needed to be made during the renovations. I also appreciated his flexibility with my busy schedule and accommodating a few work order changes and additions. In addition, it was comforting knowing that I could trust someone in my home while away on vacation. Cliff communicated with me daily and even took the time to troubleshoot a problem I had with my AC unit.

First off, I cannot say enough good things about
Harrisburg Kitchen And Bath Remodelers Provider Name Locked
, Sales Manager. He is very knowledgeable, and takes the time to understand what your vision of the project is, as well as giving suggestions and ideas to think about. At contract signing, he explained everything thoroughly and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. The second faze, which I found to be outstanding, was the start of demolition.

has a crew of talented craftsmen that go beyond and above the standards of other work that I have seen in other homes that have been done by other contractors. Not only are they efficient but without a doubt the most personable individuals I have met in this field. They were on time every day, and took great care to cover any area that they would be walking through. Everyday they did a fantastic clean-up job. If the guys needed to consult us on anything, they
had not problem coming to us and getting our input. Something that they did on a daily basis, which I put at the top of my list of things that are important when dealing with people, is when speaking to you that always made eye contact with you. As the project moved along we saw how great the remodeling work really was, and how detailed oriented the craftsmen are in their work. When the work was completed, they had my husband and I come upstairs for the grand tour!!! Grand can hardly cover how wonderful everything turned out!!! We are very, very happy!! It was a big project, as well as a large expenditure on our part, and absolutely received the very best work for our money. When I am ready for some of the smaller remodeling projects in my home, the only contractor I will be calling is

. One other thing, at the end of every day the guys would day "See you in the morning and have a good evening." This is a crew of men
