quoted us a price for removal of a tree, stating that the price was higher because limbs would have to be lowered by rope. I accepted his estimate. Ropes were not used, and the first limb fell on the power line, downing wires and pulling service off our house and out of the panel box, breaking a connecting lug. Mr.

chastised the crewman for not using ropes, and the crew then left because the power line was down. We called electricians to make repairs ($1600) and notified the tree company, requesting they submit our expenses to their bonding/insurance agent for reimbursement to us. We have their card, which says they're bonded and insured, and Mr.

assured me they were still bonded and insured. We scheduled a return visit for March 1 to remove the tree and pick up the electric bill for reimbursement, but no one from the tree company appeared and none of our five telephone calls was returned. We tried to call the company numerous times over the next few weeks, but our calls always went to voice mail and were not returned. My wife called from a phone number they would not recognize, and Mr.

, and he replied, "Yes," and asked how he could help her. When she identified herself, he began yelling, "I can't hear you. Call me back," and hung up, but he had easily heard the beginning of the conversation. We mailed him a letter on March 22 with a copy of the bill from our electrician asking that he submit it to his bonding agent and contact us by Friday, March 25. Today is Monday, March 28, and we have not heard from him."

"We ended up using another service. They were very friendly and very knowledgeable. We felt they would have done an excellent job and we have seen some of the work they've done in the past. We eventually found someone who we felt the same confidence with that was cheaper. They were a little more expensive but it wasn't unreasonable for the work being done. "
