Victor Spivey: "We open cars and houses, and rekey locks."

Pearl Hudgins: "We do lockouts for homes and automobiles, install hardware and do safe-combination changes. We generate keys for high security systems, and replace the lock part of car ignition switches."

Rubin Noel III: "We do autos, safes and hardware installation. We are also a full-service shop where you can have keys made and locks worked on. We also sell safes."

Are there any types of jobs you won't do?

Spivey: "We don't make car keys, and we don't do a lot of safe work."

Hudgins: "We do not do lock boxes or open safes. We don't install security or card systems."

Noel III: "We do not work on Mercedes, and we don't move safes."

How do you charge?

Spivey: "There's a basic service charge, and then we charge by the time and distance."

Hudgins: "We have set prices within the Triad area"

Noel III: "It depends on the job. Some jobs are hourly with a service call. Cars are a flat rate."

What's the average fee for customers locked out of their house, their car or their safe?

Spivey: "A car would be $45, and a house would be $65."

Hudgins: "A general service call is $45, but it can vary depending on the job. Customers should call for the complete cost and pricing."

Noel III: "Houses are usually $50, and cars are $45. Safes are determined by what brand it is and how it's locked. We can't give an estimate without more information."

Are you licensed, bonded and insured?

Spivey: "Yes."

Hudgins: "Yes."

Noel III: "Yes."

Before you start a job, do you require some type of identification?

Spivey: "We do for certain jobs, like opening a house or business."

Hudgins: "Yes. If you're making a car key, you have to verify the car belongs to them by law or you could be helping with a felony. The same goes for houses."

Noel III: "It depends on the job. If it's a lockout, we require ID."
