"
showed up at 11am just as planned. Gave us options for hanging our flat screen from the wall and suggestions Price was right on as quoted." He was very professional. Work was completed. Looks great!

"I had an old Federal Pacific Electric main electrical panel and the house inspector had recommended that I had upgrade it. I was budgeting to do it later in the" year but I was having a problem with flickering lights in the house and called
to have
come take a look.
came out personally and spent about 2 hours going through and debugging things (without charging me!) before coming up with 2 suggestions: 1) They could start billing and going through all the connections in the house to track down the problem 2) They could replace the main breaker panel now (FPEs have been known to cause flickering) and if the flickering was still present they would do a few hours of free debugging work. I chose to do the second option. The crew came out ready to go on the scheduled date and did the job in under the estimated time (on the hottest day of the year so far!) The installation looks amazing, they really do make a bunch of metal look really d*** nice. Unfortunately the flickering was still present. The foreman came out (
's cousin) and did some work, replaced some breakers and found some really weird wiring problems (it looks like there is a shared hot somewhere.) It looks like a whole house rewire may be in our future but for now I replaced the light fixtures with
ones (the
didn't flicker, only the Halogen/Incandescent) and will be putting in AFCI breakers to protect myself against any potential arcing. I would absolutely recommend working with
for any electrical project and will be calling them when it comes time for a whole house rewire. (This was all after having another electrician come out and do one of the biggest hack jobs I have ever seen. That's another story for another time)

Home automation

Home automation systems are the next generation of high-end consumer electronics. They allow users to program default settings for their home that match their own personal preferences and remotely manipulate certain appliances via smartphones and other remote technologies.

We put it in and we installed it. It went really good. The cameras weren't that great because the internet had it really clear. We decided to suspend the cameras. The rest of it is just fine. It's really good. It's a self-install. It's a plug-and-play situation. It's great. It was just the cost of the deal. I had questions and I called them. They took care of it. They were very good. It was topnotch. Everything was just great. They're better than I would have probably hoped for. It was very high quality. They offered it as they said they would.

was very nice and the job was seemingly ok at the time. There were a few problems right from the beginning, though. He asked me how many inches above my dresser I wanted the TV (for the bedroom) and how many above the fireplace mantel (in the family room). I gave him a figure, and they were not hung at the location I requested. The problem was that my figure measured from the top of the dresser, e.g., to the bottom of the TV. Apparently,

measured from the top of the dresser to the top of the molding that surrounds the screen of the TV. I think he should have clarified from where the measurements should be taken. I think a regular person (meaning, someone who is not a videophile or in the business) would not use the actual screen but the TV itself.
The second problem that I noticed right away was that he (or his electrician) drilled holes into my walls in the wrong places and just left them there. They didn't patch the holes - or even tell me about the holes in my wall and the missing paint. That's just wrong. A professional would have told me about them and either fixed them, offered to pay for them to be fixed, or taken money off the bill. This one really was upsetting, as I had just had the room painted. (As an aside, I learned when they were in the middle of the installation that the electrician who did the work was unlicensed. I would have liked to have known that, as an unlicensed electrician is someone I would never normally hire.)
Third, he wouldn't tell me how to program the remote; I specifically asked to be taught. He said no because it was confusing. I am not easily confused, and if any of the programming was incomplete or something happened to the programming, it would have been nice to know how to do it. In fact, later I realized that he didn't program every command from my prior remote control into the new one, and I had no idea how to add the commands. I wasn't given any users manual that explained how to do it, either.
The problems I found later included:
I received no manual or instructions on how to work the tuner. I cannot change a radio station! He put in some "favorite" stations for me, but I am unable to listen to any other stations! This is truly frustrating. I am pretty good at figuring out how to use things - often without even looking at a manual -- but it isn't like this tuner has a dial or a button that is labeled. I've tried every button, every dial. Nothing changes the station. Obviously, it is possible. But nothing I have tried has worked. Since I spent lots of money on this thing, it would have been nice to be able to use it. I still can't use it!
I have no idea how to change the volume on the speakers on the deck. Again, I received no instructions on how to do it, and there was no manual explaining how to do it.
I did call
Grand Rapids Home Automation Services Provider Name Locked
on one occasion two years or so after the installation to ask a question, and I would like to add that he was very responsive in getting back to me.
Also, I am not entirely sure on the date, as it was quite a while ago, so my service date listed is approximate.
