Electrical Reviews in Grand Rapids

is a highly qualified professional who did the electrical work for a basement remodeling project. He suggested using
fixtures, which we enjoy, and he was extremely flexible in working around our schedule. I reccomend him without reservation.

He was great went to work right away and finished the job fast as well as under the original estimate. I would definately hire him again.

Electrical reviews in Grand Rapids

They were very professional, came on time, and cleaned up after themselves as well as put everything back where it was. The quote was accurate. I had a few more things I wanted done while they were here, and they were happy to do it and were stocked and able to provide the extras I asked for while they were here. I highly recommend

I just had all of my outlets go out in my kitchen, and when I called the next morning, they were able to come out the same day to fix the problem! Excellent service!!

He did a great job, answered my call while on his vacation. Worked me into a tight schedule and gave me a name of a painter!
We really liked his work.

showed up on time for the estimate, quickly inspected and evaluated our situation and offered to do the work right there instead of scheduling another time. The work was done efficiently and he took the time to explain what he was doing so we had an understanding of why things weren't working. We would definitely recommend

for any residential project, large or small.

At first things seemed to go okay. But as time went on they became less and less responsive and slower and slower in their work.
We are now at a point where in 3 full weeks time they have not returned my calls. Not one word back.
They have over half the work done, some of the money and now they seem to be gone forever. We will not pay them any more money.
They sent journeymen workers over who did a lot of damage to this home. I have pictures. To put in a wall socket they made holes in the wall sometimes as big as 18" wide and 9" high so they could "swing their hammer". We asked them to not do this and the very next time they did it again. I took pictures of it and sent them to

but he never commented on them. They have held up our rehab for some weeks now and we have to get another electrician to finish the work.
It would be one thing had he called me and had some problem we could talk about but at some point he just decided to opt out of communication and any work. It makes no sense to me but they have turned into that very worst contractor nightmare.

arrived promptly and worked efficiently until the job was done. He was very neat - picked up after himself, didn't leave parts and tools around the work areas, and cleaned up afterwards. Everything works and looks great.

I called
Grand Rapids Electricians Provider Name Locked
at about 9 a.m. after Consumers Energy notified me by phone that a service crew found no fault with their infrastructure in our home's partial power issue - only three circuits in the house were working, the rest were out or flickering lights. He came almost immediately, about 20 minutes after my call, to come investigate.
He was very methodical in his inspection of the home's electrical systems, testing the service box, meter, and connections coming in from the drop from the

when he discovered the problem. He informed me that the connection actually did fall under Consumers' area of responsibility and gave me the option to either call them out or to have him replace it. I chose to have him do the work, since Consumers had already missed the issue once. He made a brief, less than 10-minute, trip back to his shop to get the approprate connectors, came back and promptly installed them and had the house back to full power.
He was pleasant and professional during the course of his visit. He informed me why and how the previous connectors were poorly installed. He also pointed out a broken out part of our roof along the

near where he was working that I wasn't aware of, which I will address with the help of a roofer or handyman in the future. I was grateful for him pointing it out. He also suggested some actions to improve the moisture resistance of our outdoor electrical infrastructure and suggested we also have ground rods installed. He didn't urge them to be installed during the same visit and asked me to email him if I was interested in a quote. There wasn't any sales pressure.
From the time I placed my call to the time the work was complete and power restored it only took about an hour and 15 minutes. That's extremely fast and I couldn't have dreamt of having Consumers there to address the issue that quickly. It was well worth the small fee he charged for his work.
I'd happily call on his services in the future.

was fairly quick to respond. He returned my call within the hour but was not able to meet me until the next day. While that was disappointing, it was fine. We met at 8 am the next day, a Friday. They don't work weekends so I had to wait until Monday for them to start the work which of course delayed the pipe fix and left no water. The renter was put out for a few days but luckily he didn't mind, the timing of the incident was just unfortunate. They rewired the kitchen and removed the old electrical in order to make room for the plumbers to start their work. They came back Thursday and finished up with the electrical box installation. I was a little disappointed that they left their drilling mess from the drywall on the counter but they may have assumed we were going to clean anyway since we would have to clean in order for the renter to move in so I wasn't too upset and wouldn't necessarily say they always leave a mess behind. Overall I was very happy with the results and pricing.

He was nice and seemed professional with a salesman type personality. He assessed the situation and in the end told me my entire electrical box and electrical lines needed to be replaced. I was only looking to replace some old knob and tube wiring that was located in a dirt floor crawl space. It had come into contact with water due to some pipes freezing and bursting. I explained to him that when we remodeled the entire house (less the kitchen and bath) we removed all of the old wiring. He indicated that it must have been over 10 years ago because the wiring was white and not the newest wiring which is yellow and it all needed to be replaced. He wrote down some numbers on a scrap piece of paper and told me it would be $2,900 but didn't actually give me a quote to take with me that would itemize the work that needed to be performed. He indicated I was welcome to get other quotes which is exactly what I intended to do.
That evening,
Grand Rapids Electricians Provider Name Locked
called me and was pressuring me for an answer as he could start on the work the next day but if I couldn't commit, he couldn't commit. I understand how business works and although I'm not a contractor, I can appreciate the work that goes into scheduling your men and jobs. I told him I wasn't comfortable going with the first quote I got and that I had another electrician coming in the morning. He said that was fine but he wouldn't be able to get me in unless I committed to the next day. I was not comfortable doing that so we parted ways.
The next day I had another well-known electrician who was referred to me through the plumbing company meet me for a quote. I gave him the run down on what
Grand Rapids Electricians Provider Name Locked
told me and he said they were flat out lying. He said it wasn't necessary to rewire all of the white wiring that was about 10 years old. He also said it wasn't required that I switch out all of the dual breakers to single breakers as
Grand Rapids Electricians Provider Name Locked
had indicated. I asked him, "if I were to sell the house today, would I have to put everything up to code", he said no. He said what I had was perfectly acceptable and even the knob and tube wiring is typically left alone unless a problem develops which in this case it did.
I suppose had I wanted everything up to current code, the pricing may have been in line. However, I'm very happy that I did not go through
Grand Rapids Electricians Provider Name Locked
and would warn others to be cautious and make sure you obtain other quotes before committing regardless of how much pressure they apply. The work I'm having done is costing about half of what I thought I was going to have to spend with
Grand Rapids Electricians Provider Name Locked
's quote because I'm not having work done that isn't necessary.
