Here's an overview of how solar panels function, the purpose of solar inverters and benefits of a monitoring system.
Solar attic fans can reduce your home cooling costs.
Don't want to put solar panels on your home? How about a shed?
Are you talking about powering your home solely on solar (i.e. no back up power source or off grid).
The power, once convered from DC to AC via the inverter, is suitable for use by the home.
Most solar application are in supplement to the current powering of the home and will spin the meter back in the day but are not the primary.
OK - that should strike Atlantic Plumbing off your vendor list !
You say female pipe to copper pipe connection - I hope you are not saying they connected copper directly to galvanized or black iron pipe. If so, there should have been a dielectric union put in there to prevent corrosion, which could be part of your problem.
Also, generally a bad idea to use teflon tape for hot water tank connections - too much thermal cycling, loosens it up over time. Should use plumbers dope for that application.
It sounds to me like a connection problem - if the tank itself was leaking it should be flooding the top of the tank or more likely running down through the insulation and dripping out the bottom.
Unless you are a do it yourselfer, sounds like you need to find a new plumber with good reviews and rating in your area - Search the List (in green banner bar). This should be an easy fix - should have him put in dielectric couplings (about $5-10 each depending on pipe size) if current connection is iron to copper, and even if not, have him redo connection not only for cold but also hot water - if one was done poorly, probably both were.
Solar Panel Installation reviews in Fresno
PG&E inspected and gave a PTO quickly. I was told that has a ...MoreRead more of this review great reputation and that follows also with me.
As a side, they found several broken tiles on the roof. They informed me about it, then fixed them at no cost. They cleaned up all the broken tiles from the roof and left the job better than it was when it started...highly recommend them.
The installation took ...MoreRead more of this review approximately 2 1/2 days. The contractors and sub-subcontractors were very punctual and arrived in professional trucks and work dress. They immediately went to work and there was no wasted time in visiting. At any time if asked a question by me, they took the time to explain what they were doing and any options available.
They totally cleaned up after each day, and at the end of the project, so we did not have to live in a mess in the garage. At the end of the project, they took the time and effort to go over every detail and help us to understand the operation of the system.
The company uses master electricians and roofers to do their jobs, so we know it was done right. Even the City Inspectors were complimentary of their work and said that normally they have few, if any, problems with 's installations.
Company exceeded our expectations and I would definitely use them again and I recommend them to anybody who is considering adding a solar system to their home or commercial building.
The panels have been up and running since 9/26 and as of 10/6 I have produced roughly 555 kwh and I'm very happy with it. The only rub I have is that these gentlemen knew that I was going to have to upgrade my 125 amp panel and they'll catch you by saying maybe you might have to upgrade. Well low and behold after all the permits were applied ( takes care of all permits) I need a new panel so I had a 200 amp panel put in and that was an additional 1600. So be for WARNED make these gentlemen put it in writing that you do or don't need a new panel.
Other than that they did a good job. Crew took 2 days to install and I went on the roof afterwards and I was satisfied. has a 10 year warranty on every component and theres a 25yr on the panels themselves but you will have to remove it and ship it to the manufacture. I would recommend them and the salesmen was patient with all my questions and haggling and the electrician was the foreman of the crew and was friendly and let me know step by step what was happening.
handled the array design, all permits and the PG&E application for net metering. The company is professional from top to bottom. Once the contract was set I was given a liaison person to speak with if I had any questions. Phone calls were promptly returned and I was constantly updated on the progress. The installation team arrived in an Arise truck pulling an Arise trailer all dressed in Arise shirts and hats. They were conscientious in cleaning up after themselves, hauling away all debris and leaving nothing for me to do. The wiring for the solar arrays is in conduit INSIDE the attic with only the solar panels visible on my roof. Although I expected there would be problems with this project, made the job go very smoothly. I am extremely pleased with the services they provided.
A lot of the other people who came to our home were very "slick" salesman types. ...MoreRead more of this review These other folks were not always clear about what the costs would be, what we would be receiving, or what equipment was best. When I'm spending a ton of money, I want someone who is interested in meeting my needs and providing something I want. I don't want anyone who is slick or not listening, and is just trying to make a sale.
By contrast, is very personable, knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. He was interested in finding out what we wanted. He answered all our questions in a straightforward way. He explained what his company could do for us, and he gave us his recommendations about what he thought was best. He recommended a smaller system than what we ultimately went with. Can you imagine? He was trying to talk us into spending less money with him, because he thought that was in our interest. But when we expressed to him our desire to do something a bit different (install a somewhat larger system--we wanted to knock out as much of our bill as possible) he was very flexible and open to that. He listened to what we wanted, and did his best to provide it.
Anyway, that's how and why we chose the company. I will also add that their bid was slightly less than the others, but honestly, even if it was slightly more, we would have chosen them, just on the basis of how they treat people and communicate.
We could not be happier with the results. They did everything they said they would, and on time, and at cost. There were no delays from them, no surprises -- this is exactly what you want from a business when you are spending tens of thousands of dollars.
The system is working fine. We got even more electricity out of it the first year than projected, and our electric bill for the entire first year was $92. Yes, for the whole year.
Also, I want to add one more thing about how this company does business. We had a small problem at one point, with a small part that needed to be replaced. It happened on a Sunday, so I emailed that day. Of course, you don't really expect a reply over the weekend -- in any circumstances. But actually emailed me back within a couple of hours, to let me know when he would be sending someone down from North Fork. (I believe it was on Tuesday or Wednesday.) The part was replaced at no cost to us.
Any doubts I might have had about hiring a company up in North Fork (when I live in Fresno), or any doubts about what might happen if I ever needed service and repairs long after I'd paid my bill in full -- well any such small doubts were laid to rest.
When someone provides customer service like that -- months after the work is done, cheerfully and promptly -- you have no hesitation about giving them your highest recommendation, and we do.
