Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Reviews

"This was without question the worst contractor I have ever used. They were so awful at coordination and logistics I ultimately fired them before they ever installed the new floors. This occurred based on the following set of experiences:
12/1: New floors ordered at Home Depot. I was specific that I needed installation completed on 12/27 due to holiday plans and guests.
12/2.
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
calls me to introduce themselves. I attempt to confirm the install date. I am advised that they do not confirm installation until the wood has been received by Home Depot. After several calls I get this resolved and confirm the install date.
12/5: My condo association requires architectural modification documents and samples of sound mitigating materials. I contact USIG and advise them that this is a very tight turn and we need to get this information to my building ASAP. I email UGIG the application packet with all of my sections completed. I am assured they will have it into my building within "the next couple of days."
12/17: Floors arrive at Home Depot. I call my building to assure the install has been approved so I can have the floors delivered. I am advised that USIG has sent no information. I call USIG to check in. They say the paperwork will be there "tomorrow."
12/18: I call my building. No paperwork. I now have the floors scheduled to be delivered on 12/20 and cannot have them delivered without building approval.
12/19: No paperwork. I am assured by USIG that the paper work will be in before the delivery arrives the next day.
12/20: No paperwork. I have now called USIG twice daily for the last few days and they have done nothing to act.
My floors are scheduled to be installed on 12/27. On 12/26 I call my building to verify that everything has been completed.....still no paperwork from USIG and installation is not approved. I call USIG multiple times. I am told that the paperwork is sitting in their
compliance department and that they are "out of the office due to the holidays and will not be back until tomorrow." The PROMISE me the paperwork will be in before the installation team arrives.
12/27: Installer arrives, no paperwork. I call USIG they promise it by 10am...nothing. I call back...the promise it by 11am...nothing. I call back. They promise it in 30 minutes...nothing. FINALLY, at 12:05pm the paperwork is emailed to my building...incomplete. I finally send the the install team away.
The general manager of USIG then calls me and attempts to blame everything on the Home Depot. When I asked why is took 3 1/2 weeks and countless calls to have them complete routine paperwork they had no answer. I advised him that install would not occur until I worked things out with the Home Depot but they sent and installer anyway on Monday. I sent him away as I now had guests in my home and was not willing to have my floors torn apart with guests in the house.
I will NEVER allow these people in my home again.

"A NEVER ENDING NIGHTMARE - SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF FRUSTRATION AND FIND A RELIABLE CONTRACTOR!!
On 10/7/13, the design plans for my kitchen were finalized and approved. That same day,
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
told me he thought the job would be completed in two weeks. On 10/8, my existing kitchen was demolitioned. It has now been 11 weeks and I still don't have a functioning kitchen. I've done nothing short of beg
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to finish the job, and each time he commits to a new completion date. I'm now at my wit's end - I've been lied to so many times and feel completely taken advantage of.
Day after day I've been promised that there would be a crew working at my condo all day, only to come home to the disappointing fact that nothing had been done. On the rare occasion someone did show up, the installation has been both dangerous and shoddy. For weeks, there were many jagged metal edges exposed - I told
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
it was dangerous and asked him on several occasions to address the situation. Even after I cut my arm on one of the edges he couldn't be bothered to fix the problem. The new cabinets are damaged and do not line up properly, not to mention the fact that there not the cabinets I ordered in the first place.
One of the reasons I selected
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was because
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
showed me documentation of accreditation and an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. However, I just checked bbb.org and it shows that there is no BBB rating for
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and that they're currently under review.
I really just want to have my kitchen completed and I hate feeling like I'm going to have to take legal action to make that happen.

Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
gave a response to my previous review, and he is absolutely correct that I did not hire him. He came over to my house to talk about the work I wanted to have done. No work was started, and his workers never did any work at my house.

As I said in my first review, he is a very articulate and professional person. I am sorry that my opinion of the company was tainted by other negative reviews on the internet, and on Google.

I was asked by Angie's List to provide a review of
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Environmental because I got an estimate from
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
. Angie's List wanted me to share my reasons for not hiring
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and his men. So I did provide an honest review of why I could not hire them.

Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
seemed very competent and knowledgeable. We felt comfortable with him, since he is a real talker and volunteered alot of information that helped us make design decisions.
Unfortunately,
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
Environmental are out of the running. We always get three estimates before doing any job in our house. We did not get back to
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
for his estimate because we decided not to go with him.
THE REASON IS THAT
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
HAS SOME BAD REVIEWS ON THE INTERNET, ANGIE'S LIST, AND ALSO GOOGLE. THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS REALLY SCARED US.

"I received quotes from several installers and
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
at
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was the only person to show up on time, offer suggestions, and provide a store that carried the product I was interested in. Before the job he measured each room to provide an accurate estimate of the quantity to order.

What we chose for our new flooring turned out to be back ordered until initially December, then January, then early February. This was nobody's fault except the distributor (and a lack of action by the store). We were informed of the delivery date one week before delivery, and
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was able to fit our installation into his schedule with the short notice. Wood flooring has to acclimate to the house for 1-2 days before installation. The material was picked up the day it was delivered at the warehouse and brought to my house where it rested for 2 full days before installation.

He initially quoted 3-4 days to complete the job and finished in just under three full days. The old hardwood was glued to the concrete subfloor 'very' well and had to be chiseled out in small pieces. This was unexpected and added to the job timeline. As a side note, this is a very loud process, so if you live in a condo with neighbors, be considerate and give them a heads-up... Previously I lived in places where this level of noise would not be tolerated, so double check on this before going too far into the process. That said,
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
and his guys tried to finish this part of the job as fast as possible - probably for their sake just as much as my neighbor's...

They moved the refrigerator and
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
to install wood fully underneath - something the old floor wasn't. They were also able to install the new flooring under the air handlers, even with the base resting directly on the concrete subfloor. Pay attention to this as many people will not install the new material under appliances.

Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
was here every day working alongside his crew (3-4 other guys) from 9-5. He and his crew stopped working on the job only for a short lunch and to show me any problems or to ask a question. There was no break in service from job start to job completion. After each work day they cleaned up, hauled away the old materials (inside the house and from the front yard), and left our house as livable as could be during their work. We decided to stay in the house each night during their work, though getting a hotel or staying with friends would probably be a better option. It would save them time from having to move furniture back each day and would be less stress on the homeowner as well.

Our concrete subfloor was not true and level in spots, which necessitated use of a special glue. This was an extra charge from the initial quote (about $1200 extra...) That was the only surprise of the job.

The type of wood flooring installed has an oil-wax coating applied after the whole floor is installed. Unknown to everyone, one coat was not sufficient, but
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
volunteered to return and apply the second coat for no additional charge.

Overall I would not hesitate to recommend them. His quote was not the lowest, but certainly not the highest. I firmly believe you pay for what you get, and his results were worth every penny. Just finding a contractor that shows up on time, everyday, in South Florida is hard enough, and to get quality results is even harder to find.

"Company quoted promptly, began work ahead of schedule, had good equipment, technique and finished everything in fine order. Low bid, hard working, pleasant."

"The drywall repair was seamless and looks like there was never any water damage.

Installation of both tile and wood product floors went very smoothly. I was having three flights of stairs done and not sure what to expect. The end result of all areas/types of flooring work done by
Fort Lauderdale Flooring Installers Provider Name Locked
is beyond what I hoped it would be."
