"I used the button on the Angie's List site to contact the provider to schedule service. They phoned me right away and set up a day to come out, quoted me a" price, and applied the $10 Angie's List discount they were offering without my asking. I was told I would get a call on the day of service between 7:30 and 8:00 am to tell me what time the service technician would be here. I got the call as scheduled and was told they would be here between 10 and 12. The weather was questionable, so at 10:55 I got a call asking what the weather was like at my house and telling me that he was waiting it out, trying to decide if it was safe to do the work. Because the thunder subsided, the technician came to my house and performed the work in the rain. He found two leaks in a short amount of time and was able to repair both of them on the same visit. On my original call the scheduling person thought I had a pool and attached spa, so my quote was $30 too high. I wouldn't have known the difference, but I was told about the error and paid the lower amount. So far everything looks great! There is a 35 day guarantee on the work. Based on my experience so far, I'm confident that if anything goes wrong they will honor that and make the necessary repair.

"I called the company and was told they would come to my house to give me an estimate for my patio and deck. I told them I work all week and I was told they could" be at my house at 5pm on 8/25/15. I received a call from the company the morning of the 25th stating that they would be at my house at 5pm and asked if that was ok which I replied it would be perfect. At approximately 2pm I received a call from the owner stating that he was in my neighborhood and would it be ok to stop by now to take a look and give me an estimate for he didn't want to hang around for 3 hours. I told him it would be best if he waited till I got home from work at 4:30 for I would have to explain what I wanted done. He told me that he was in the area and would write an estimate and if I have questions I could call him. I had no choice for he did not want to come back when I got home and told him how to enter my backyard. The owner called me back within a half hour and stated he left an estimate in my mail slot and to call him if I had any questions. I got home from work and looked at the estimate and it did not reflect what I wanted done in anyway. I didn't bother to call him back for I figured if he can not take the time to meet me to see what I wanted and to explain how it can be done how can I trust him to do a good job. To top everything off I just received your monthly publication and saw two of his ads within. I looked at the brick pavers which states in his ad as $3.19 a sq. foot while he gave me an estimate of $4.50 a square foot for the same pavers. I would not recommend this company to anyone, in fact I would recommend people do not use this company. Thank You

My order of preference - first choice a jacuzzi/hot tub repairman (from a jacuzzi/hot tub/sauna distributor), second choice a plumber (many do not work on hot tubs, jacuzzi's and sauna because they cnanot afford to stock parts). An electrician might be able to fix it if it is a connection problem, but such motors are seldom repaired if the problem is internal, just replaced - which would be a jacuzzi repairman/plumber type job.

You will have to find out what your model costs new - looks like they run from about $400 to 1700 depending on size. IF yours is at the lower end, might be just as cheap to replace it, with parts and labor. If not low end, then repair probably works. Typical pricing of components that might have gone out - switch $80, timer/control unit $130, heating element $100 (probably most likely to have failed) - so if only one of these went out, figuring $100-200 labor, probably cheaper to fix it. I would contact your dealer for a better idea.

BTW - here is a Saunatec instruction on maintenance on the heating element and rocks, failure to follow can shorten heating element life, if that is what went out (and probably the simplest to replace) -

I'm sorry to say there aren't many of us on here with adequate experience working on pools, myself included.  My suggestion would be to contact a few local companies specializing in pool renovation and have them give their recommendations and bids for the work, breaking down order of operations so you know what to expect at which stages.  Check Angie's List for referrals in your area and cross check those with the BBB for any unresolved complaints.

came out and gave us an estimate on a complete remodel of our pool. I spoke to him about repairing the pool decking as portions of it had
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
up in a few areas over the years. He said he checked and they could put supports under those portions of the decking to level them and he included that work in his estimate along with the other improvements that were to be made during this project. The day the workers showed up to install the glass tiles we'd picked out at the showroom, the workers brought tiles that were 1" square, to install. Fortunately my wife was home at the time and was paying attention. She told them the tiles were similar but we'd chosen 1" x 2" tiles, not 1" tiles. The next time the workers came out, they came out with the proper tiles. The workers used a gray mastic as adhesive for the blue toned tiles which was a huge problem because since the tiles are glass, the mastic and lines from the

, showed through every tile. We had to have
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
come out to see the problem and all the glass tiles had to be taken out and new ones installed using white mastic. This resulted in shattered glass here and there, some of which we had to clean up so our dogs wouldn't be injured. We should never have had to deal with this. One day towards the end of the project, the workers left in the afternoon and we thought they'd finished for the day. Instead they returned and sat in their truck in our driveway, drinking beer. They then proceeded to walk down into the empty pool to finish up. We do not permit companies we are paying to allow their employees to consume alcohol on the job. Furthermore, the pool is slippery and someone could have been injured having consumed alcohol and then entering the pool. My wife contacted
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
and told him she wanted him to send out a different crew in the future. He responded by saying it was the only crew they had.
By the way, we paid extra for an upgraded surface for the pool, rather than plaster, that is supposedly easier to keep clean, the surface is called Sparkle Quartz.
This entire endeavor was one of those situations where we had to continually contact
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, the salesman, about everything that wasn't going properly. Not a project where we could sit back and know that it was all going as planned.
Fifteen months have passed since we paid
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
nearly $13,000 to renovate our pool. We have at least six places in the pool decking where it's cracked again. Their repair of the cracks was extremely temporary. There are footprints from the workers that are apparent in the surface of our pool in 5 or more places. You can actually make out their boot prints on the bottom of our pool. The bricks aren't very level on our hot tub. The grout was sloppily applied in several places. The head of the crew told us the first day the crew arrived that they could not level the decking with supports like
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
had told us they could. We have it written right on the quote, he gave us and he assured us that could be done. Cracked glass tiles were installed in several places and the tiles aren't lined up in a straight fashion in several places. When I contacted
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
a few months ago, about the boot footprints and the uneven color of the upgraded surface of our pool he said it's due to calcification buildup from our water. In under a year that happened? If that upgraded surface was so prone to this happening, why wasn't that explained to us up front?
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
told me to buy a product that runs $45 a shot and use it to try and clear up the pool surface. So far, nothing has changed with $90 of investment in that product. The next step he said is to drain the pool and acid wash the surface. More money to invest in this. I have photos to back up everything I've mentioned here.

sent someone out within a day of first contact. He was courteous and helpful, providing information about ways to protect my salt cell and other equipment and reduce repairs. He emailed an estimate within a few hours of his visit. His quote was reasonable, the work was well done, and my gusher of a leak is gone! I'm delighted to have found

and Maintenance and definitely plan to call them the next time I need work done.

and his team provide a consistently high quality of service. They are very professional and we are always extremely happy. They open and close our pool every year, and having them change our pool to salt water last year was a great decision!

came to check it out, and gave me the hopefully good solution, and then what the worst case would be.
They were very busy, and he did his best to fit me in with their schedule. I told him it was ok, even if it was at the last minute, an opening came up ..... and he came through. Unfortunately for them, ON THE HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR SO FAR, they started digging up the skimmer area, as the thoughts were the copper had started to break down, and act like a

for the pool water. As it turned out, the problem was exactly as thought; when I bought the house only part of the pool plumbing was replaced, and the owner kept the old skimmer and piping.

's guys replaced everything, and did a great job with the cement fill afterwards.
I appreciated his honesty, and his guys were really nice guys, and left the place tidy afterwards.
Two weeks later, I have not had any issues, the pool hasn't leaked any more (touch wood) and my pool is repaired and clean again.

From the initial call to this company we were surprised (and pleased) with their professionalism and concern. Not only were they prompt, but actually early. They were not hurried or rushed. We felt that THEY ACTUALLY CARED! I realize that I was probably an annoyance with all my questions while they worked but each question was answered with courtesy and professionalism. Somehow we were made to feel that they wanted to explain the process, and make sure we knew exactly what was going on every step of the way.
We didn't believe companies such as
Detroit Pool And Spa Cleaners Provider Name Locked
still existed. They conducted themselves the way businesses "used to be"; acting with care, pride and professionalism. How refreshing to engage someone such a work ethic in today's hurried times.
We will ABSOLUTELY use their services for all our pool and spa needs in the future!
- Len B.

We scheduled the repair 6 months prior to spring. They maintained contact throughout the winter. When there was a problem with some of the work (nothing major) they came out immediately and fixed it without any problems. They worked until it was to my satisfaction. With all the heavy rain we received this year they did a great job of getting it done in a timely fashion.

came first thing in the morning and determined that my "clanging" pump motor needed to be replaced. This was done quickly and efficiently. I have had many dealings with

this summer due to an ongoing algae problem and they have been tireless in their efforts to help me solve the problem. I will certainly call them in future if I need additional service and I purchase most of my supplies at

because of their customer service and lower prices.
