"They were excellent! I could tell from the beginning that he was experienced and that he cares about his customers. He and his men showed up on time and were very professional and respectful. "The contractor was freindly and punctual. He claimed taht the ad in Angies list was wrong when it described the amount of trash that could be hauled for the $79 rate. The Angies list ad said it would be 3 cubic yards but this contractor says it was suposed to be a 1/8 of a truck. So what does an 1/8 of truck look like I said since there is no way for ...more me to know what size truck he has. he said I should have gone to his website to see what this $ rate would haul away. I had probably a little bigger than the 3 cubic yards but not much more. He said he would do it for $100 more which felt like a little bit of bait and switch to me but considering he had 2 people show up with a truck they drove from
Heights to detroit I can see how $79 was not going to cheap for that distance and 2 peoples time for 45 minuts work plus travel.
I agreed since I needed the junk removed as I was selling the house. I thought the final price of $179 was a bit high but again I needed it gone and he was there so I agreed. All in all I'm fairly satisfied but would probably try someone else or get additional quotes before I agree to it. Also be careful on this treash hauling that both you and the contractor agree on the size of the pile and price to avoid the bait an switch.
Its important to be fair to understand the cost for travel both ways and labor. Figure 2 people for 1.5 hours at $25 per hour should have been about $75 0r $80 plus mileage of 50 miles round trip at maybe $1 per mile fo another $50 bucks. Like I said it was probable worth $130 to $150. "
