The original bid for the job was about $2800, which was more than anticipated, so I rented a 17' truck from U-Haul, hired a couple of college guys, and we moved two big loads over ourselves, at a cost of about $500. The final bill from Cowboy still came in at $2700, so either it was gonna be higher, or I worked my b*** off for nothin. We would definitely consider them for our next move, although I will try to get rid of a bunch of 'stuff' before then! "

asked lots of questions to get an accurate assessment of how long it would likely take to pack, and clearly stated up front items they would not be able to move for liability reasons (the gas tank to our propane grill and some aerosol cans). They ran a little late due to unexpected traffic and weather, but called to make sure I knew they were on the way and how far they were. (They don't start billing until they arrive on-site.)

were *very* fast getting the rest of our house packed. Everything was well padded, and I haven't found any damage to any possessions. They started by asking if anything in our apartment shouldn't be packed. Before and during, they pointed out items that might not travel well and gave us the option to transport those items ourselves or having them pack them as best they could (and pointed out when it would be pricey to ask them to pack it for us). At the end, they did a walk-through with us so that we could all be sure that everything had been packed. The next day,

arrived. I grew up in a military family, so I've seen lots of movers across the country, but never ones that worked as hard as these two. Again, only 2 movers, but they worked *fast*. $79/hour (plus a flat 1 hour fuel/trip fee which was disclosed up-front) included 2 movers and their company's truck. They moved all of our stuff and unhooked our washer/dryer. (They can't hook them up at the new place, again for insurance reasons, but that was spelled out up front, and they offered to let us use their tools, as well as re-positioning the appliances without damaging our hardwood floor.) When we arrived at the new house, they asked for a quick tour to get a layout, with what furniture would go in each room so they could figure out the best places to put boxes. It had snowed the 2 days before, but they put down *lots* of mats and runners so our carpets were untouched. They also confirmed where each set of boxes and piece of furniture was going to be sure it was right. Once everything was in, they double-checked to make sure we didn't want them to adjust any furniture or move more boxes. They worked really hard, and didn't even sit down to rest. This was a really difficult move, but using

made it *much* easier. I only wish I had called them earlier. They packed at least half of our 1200 square foot apartment in 2 hours, and moved everything into the new place in 4 hours (local move). I thought I was being smart by giving myself an extra 3 weeks to pack things myself to "save money", but if I had just hire them to move my things the first week, I would have been able to hire a cleaning service for the apartment and still come out slightly ahead in saved rent! (not counting all that time I spent exhausted and all the stress). I've definitely learned my lesson and shared this with my friends and co-workers (along with the number for

). I'll never do my own packing again! They are also pretty flexible on working with you. If you want to rent your own truck, they will load and unload it for you. If you have your own boxes, tape, bubble rap, etc, they will also use that instead of trying to bill you for it like I have seen some other companies do. They did do another thing I've never seen before: they lent us some wardrobe boxes. Since they were unpacked before the truck was done unloading, they didn't charge us to use their wardrobe boxes for transport."
