"When we purchased our home, the steps on our concrete front porch had cracks in them, and on some giant pieces had been chipped away. The landing area itself had some cracks as well, and the joints by the wall had allowed water to seep into the basement into the past. We hired
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
Masonry Improvements to perform the repair work (fix/reform the stairs, seal the cracks, and coat the stairs and porch). The process was a pleasure, from the quote to the invoicing.
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
was always on time, did all the work himself, cleaned up his work/equipment each day, took the time to get it right and keep us informed throughout the process. (
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
even let us borrow a mailbox he had, since the
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
could not walk up the porch to drop the mail in the mail slot!) The quality of work was exceptional, and after countless years of freezing and thawing, cracking, chipping, and breaking, our stairs are as good as new. We?d hire
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
Masonry Improvements again without hesitation.

"I called an sent an email asking for an estimate. He came when promised. He evaluated the problem. Told me what to expect. Completed all of the work on time and for the price in the bid. My house is 120 years old with that repair you cannot tell there was ever a problem."

Revitalizing masonry and brick in a historic home

Tuckpointing by Marion removed white paint to restore the metallic copper finish to a bay window. (Photo courtesy of Angie’s List member Brad Begle of Chicago)

While searching for new homes, Brad Begle and his wife, Mary, instantly fell in love with the interior of a newly remodeled Victorian-era home in Lincoln Park. However, years of faulty repairs on the outside of the red-brick 1880s home had left the exterior in poor shape.

Stonemason adds poetry to walkway and fire pit

"We settled upon a colorful mix of Pennsylvania sandstone, accentuated with bands of reclaimed antique granite street cobbles." (Photo courtesy of Matt L. of Portland, Ore.)

The Portland family wanted to add some unique outdoor elements to their new home. So they hired Matt Goddard of Poetry in Stone to install a path and a backyard seating area with a sunken fire pit.

"We hired
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
to do some chimney repair, bracing, and tuckpointing and also decided to use him for tuckpointing our house. He was a little difficult to reach - it would take a couple days to hear back by phone and the written quotes were hard to get from him. He also started the work a week later than he said he would, which would not have been a problem, except that I had to call him to find out why he wasn't there. He and his son-in-law performed all the work and were professional while they were there. We felt the chimney work went fairly well at the time (see below though). However, a few weeks later we noticed water coming down the wall of one of our bedrooms after a rainstorm - turns out there is a 6 inch hole in the roof letting water in, and this hole is very close to the chimney that they were working on. I cannot say for sure that they caused this hole, but I think it is more likely than not.

never mentioned any falling bricks or other problems. The tuckpointing work was okay. It is definitely obvious where he tuckpointed, as the mortar is a different shade and composition. Later, I also found out that with our historic 100+ yr old home, the mortar is composed of a totally different material (lime) than is used today (Portland cement). This is a potential issue because the bricks were softer then and required softer mortar. However, they used a Portland cement based mortar which may crack the bricks over time. Needless to say, I am not happy about that either. Because of these two issues, I would not recommend using this company.

"My 110 year old house has brick foundation walls which have deteriorated over the years on the inside. I hired
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
to stucco some of the walls to stabilize the brick. They were very accommodating to my needs and schedule. e.g. I needed to coordinate with the plumber who came out to move the hot water heater and then return it when they had completed the wall behind it.
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the estimator, came out again to estimate after I added some additional work to the order. The three young men who did the work were competent, on time and cleaned up before they left. I am completely satisfied with the work.

"Great. This is the second time we have used
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
- and when we
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
point the whole house, we will use him again. He is punctual, does good work, and does it at a good price. He is always so polite and appreciative and you can tell he works hard. He always gets the job done in the amount of time he says its going to take which tells me he has a lot of experience! High recommendations!"

"We had been looking for a replacement of the old ceramic tile for quite a while. At the Denver Garden and Home show, we found
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
and fell in love with their unique travertine. In
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, we went to their showroom to look around and get an estimate on our work.
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very helpful and even gave us samples of the travertine tile to take home to make our decision. Later that week,
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
came over to look at the job and give us an estimate. Based on what we wanted done and the tile, they estimated $975. At the time, they did not tell us that the tile was in high demand and it might take months to order it. So, when we had the funds together, we decided to go ahead and get the tile and have it installed (at the end of August). We were told then that they had to ship it from Turkey and it would take about 30 - 45 days for them to receive the tile and they would be in touch when the tile came in. Around October 20th when we had not heard from them, we called to inquire about our tile.
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
and
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
stated the tile would be in in about a week and they would call us. After many phone calls (initiated always by us), the tile was finally in just before Thanksgiving. Now I realize things come up, but I always gave them an extra day or two after they told us they'd call by before calling them - always it was the same greeting - "I was just about to call you!" - it got to be very frustrating! We went to the showroom to pay for our tile and schedule the installation, however our paperwork was nowhere to be found. We were told not to worry about it, that they trusted what we told them our original estimate was, and they would get their installer out in the next week or so. Finally, around the 2nd week of December, our tile was completed!

did a great job and we love our new fireplace - it looks so unique and sophisticated....we have definitely increased the value of our home! The grouting doesn't seem very even - some areas where it was heavy and others where there is none...but overall, it really looks great!

"This company was easy to get in touch with to make the appointment. The job was performed in a timely manner. The finished project turned out how I had expected it to."

"Called and they came out the next day with an estimate. Company called the following day, and I was asked to sign a contract before scheduling and work starting. They drove out with the contract, which I signed and was scheduled for five days following.

"I called and very promptly got a bid in early
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
. The bid included extensive work on two chimneys on the house, totaling $3720. I could not afford that and asked if they could do only two sides of the house that really needed work to keep the house watertight and sound. They reduced the bid to include only the areas I wanted done right now. (I intend to have this company do the rest of the work next year). The revised bid was the exact price I paid. I got one other bid from another company, $500, which was so low it indicated to me that the work would not be done properly. So I chose
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
Masonry. At the start, they told me the work would be done probably September, and that's when it was done.
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
kept me informed of the date.
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
was a true professional, did the work over 3 to 4 days, and went out of his way to fix things, such as replacing a missing brick I had not noticed. Totally cleaned up after each visit and upon completion. This is a family team,

and
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, and I thought they were terrific, absolutely professional, friendly, and did quality work. I pointed out to
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, I had some
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
pointing done 3 or 4 years ago, that was now chipping out, and
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
said he would re-do his work for free if it didn't last at least 10 years. (This wasn't a written warranty, but I thought it indicated pride of workmanship and confidence in the quality of his work).

"Initially contacted from a mass mailing - Mr
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
is incredibly responsive and was on site within hours of the first telephone contact. The bid was quite competitive - in fact (well) below what I expected. Unbelievably punctual, neat, organized, clean and unobtrusive. Job completed on time and under budget - with quality on a par with anyone I have used before, and generally much better quality than I have seen in my neighbors' landscape contractors. Eager to please. Has a very slight
Denver Masonry Contractors Provider Name Locked
, in that English is a second language, but easy to overcome with attentive listening. Has a great eye for design - and saved us significant money by having an alternative design to our original (his idea was actually far better!) Cannot say enough good words about him.
