"I've been very happy with my work with
. She's given me some great ideas and guidance, for a very cost-effective price. She has helped me to avoid" going down some bad alleys on design and given me some innovative solutions. On her referral, I've implemented a new built-in solution for my entryway which has worked out beautifully. I highly recommend her.

"The small kitchen roller blind that I ordered, and paid for, in Oct. 2011 was finally installed in June 2012, eight months later. The initial estimate for completion was 3 weeks. Apparently" the blind was manufactured several times with flaws. During the entire process of procuring a satisfactory product I didn't sense at all that
was my advocate in getting the job done correctly. Months passed when I didn't hear from her with a progress report. I had to call her to find out what was happening and those calls seemed to initiate an investigation on her part because she didn't have readily available information. She always had to call me back and that was often as much as a week later. I set aside time in my schedule for subsequent installation appointments during which
would get all the way to my house with the product only to discover further problems with the blind that she'd had in her possession. On one occasion we had to schedule around her middle of the day exercise class. The only time I had the benefit of a professional installer was on the initial installation when the first flaw was discovered. Subsequent installations were handled only by
with a minimum of tools, no stool or ladder, and very little ability to use the tools she brought. Twice she wanted to stand in my sink to get the job done. When this project finally came to a close
suggested that I should call the manufacturer's rep. to determine if I could be given a discount for my time and trouble. That definitely should have been
's job because I contracted with her to do the entire job. I did end up getting receiving a minimal percentage allowance which
couldn't even compute correctly.Through this experience with
at
I learned that
does not possess the skills to own and operate her own franchise. I wouldn't recommend doing business with this franchise.

"
provided a consultation on a selection of paint colors to meet a specific need in one room, while coordinating with other rooms with different decorating limitations" that were visually connected. After helping with some good suggestions, we spent some time on minor furniture re-positioning that improved the flow of the room, and suggestions for other areas we may be decorating in the future. Overall a positive experience. She left us with written recommendations on the paint, and followed up with an email covering a couple of items she had promised to research and get back to us.

I know you said you didn't want a realtor but I do know someone who is good.  Her name is Pam Hunt and she is with William E. Wood.

Otherwise I would check out interior designers.  They could make suggestions and outline some finer details that could help you stage your home.

In the meantime start packing away those personal momentos and pictures.  Clear and clean the walls.  Go with a neutral paint color throughout the house.  Oyster by Behr is a classic.  Start getting rid of clutter.  If you haven't worn it in 3 years or used it in 5....pitch it.  Depending on how long you have lived in your home the accumulation of "things" could be tremendous. Donate your unwanted and unused to a thrift store.  It is tax deductible. Get appliances off the counters in the kitchen.  Buyers want to imagine "their" things sitting there.  Get rid of heavy drapes and go with  sheers consistent throughout the house.  Make rooms look larger by chucking some furniture.  Sell it or put it in storage until you have moved.  How is the floor?   Carpet removed may reveal beautiful hardwoods that are in high demand right now.  Pets?  Get someone to come give you the "sniff" test.  We grow acustomed to the smell of our house and might not recognize pet stinkies. Make everything shine by cleaning thoroughly, and let in the light.  Bright rooms are inviting.  Dark rooms are depressing. These things will give you a head start and clear your mind for some good ides.  Good luck with your interior designer.

I have lost count of how many kitchens I have remodeled and I prefer Brushed Stainless Steel sinks. Polished will show scratched more  and with the brushed finish if you wipe with the grain with a milld scrub pad and an old time product called Bar Keepers Friend the look good almost forever. If you have any concerns about scratches in the bottom you can use a grid when needed, most sink manufacturers make them for their sinks. You say you have stains in a solid surface siink and it is probably the older generation. The newer ones have a high stone content to the mix and are less prone to this but I still prefer stainless.

Unclutterer had a post about this a few months back. While I didn't use the photo gallery method she suggested, I did check out the comments to find some other interesting solutions: http://unclutterer.com/2011/04/04/easily-hang-an-organized-photo-gallery-with-the-perfectpicturewall/

Denver Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
(Falling Water) is GREAT! She handled everything including helping us to find a general contractor (and used some of the SUB-contractors for painting, plantation shutter installation, and having custom bench cushions made). AND she would come to the house to make sure things were done correctly (actually more so than our general contractor did). She does have expensive taste..but so do I when i can afford it :) Hiring

has been well worth it! - and she's still going to be doing some more work for us when we have to RE-DO the horrible original remodel of our next room/project!

It went great! Very timely. We didn't have to go to a ton of places. She really got my style and brought me to the right places right from the get go. She also saved me money by helping pick out high quality things that were not as expensive as maybe I would have gone for.

STAY AWAY from this company, their owner Juele
Denver Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
and her alleged co-owner
Denver Interior Designers Provider Name Locked
. They were a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE. Their most benign quality is their lack of punctuality. They started out nice enough, but once they had us for over $23,000 in product, they began to supply unprofessional craftmanship, would deliver unordered furniture, broken pieces and then charge us "more than the agreed price." They even threatened to file a police report for theft when we insisted they pick up a broken cabinet we never ordered. They have taken full advantage of the arbitration process through our credit card company hoping to stall us and have failed to provide us with purchase invoices. We have lost a tremendous amount of time in fruitless callbacks and ultimately will need to file suit.

was great to work with. Very knowledgeable, picked up on my style rather than trying to force her style on me. She quickly pointed me in the right direction, saving lots of time rather than overwhelming me with too many choices. She was punctual, and completed the job very quickly. Many of my neighbors have used her as well and have been very satisfied.

She is absolutly wonderful. She has several high contacts for references. Her suppliers are also great. We have been very pleased, we just wish she would move out of state with us.
