B?, was more unhelpful to me than not, so I will take my business elsewhere.  He volunteered none of the information I had to go dig up for myself (like any discounts and offers, which I asked for).  When I brought up my 2nd project for your company, and wanted to email photos to get some idea what the problem might be before having to pay to have someone come out to my place,

B didn't even want to look at the pictures before judging that they would not show something you all could explain to me; I suppose he must be a clairvoyant or something.  I practically had to beg him to show the pictures to the service manager, which he grudgingly said he would do.  Then he gave me an email address: "samb@buildersheating.com" which came back undeliverable. That was it for me." "Thanks to

B, I am annoyed enough now to write this, and I am also going to submit it to Angie's List, where

and his crew were very conscientious, polite and professional in their communications  and with their work. What is a fair price for R-22?

By 2015, there will be a 90 percent reduction in the production of R-22. By 2020, it will no longer be produced at all. Because production is limited, costs to charge existing units that are leaking R-22 refrigerant have gone up and are only expected to rise. (Photo courtesy of Angie's List member John R. of Lake Mary, Fla.)

Dear Angie: My air conditioning contractor just charged me $100 per pound for R-22 refrigerant. This is a lot more than I paid four years ago. Is this a fair price these days?

workers were extremely professional.  They were well organized without a "corporate" feel, because each person who worked on the house really knew his craft and had lots of experience.  There were subcontractors involved and the scheduling could not have been smoother.  Each part of the process was explained to us in detail, so we had very few questions as the 2-day process went on.
Denver HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
covered all the bases, was very straightforward and organized.  They showed up on time and did exactly what they said they would do.  When problems came to light, such as an exposed electrical box, remedies were suggested and our opinions considered.  They went above and beyond anything we expected.  Bill organized all the subcontractors and the process went like clockwork.  We also wanted to mention that they were all really nice human beings, in good command of their individual crafts.

"We discussed options & terms. He offered a number of "extras" he was going to include, like a whole home humidifier, a C02 detector, a water-heater servicing, and the then-current Fed Tax & Xcel Rebates in effect if I acted before

31, 2010. I said we'd need financing, and was told they could probably do that. I called several days later & was told their normal financing channels were defunked but he'd try another option. A week later he told me that wouldn't work but he'd try to do it "in house". I told him I could put 1/2 down & 1/2 I'd pay off within 12 months. He said fine, and scheduled the job on the phone with me for the next Friday, so I got off work. NO one showed up. I called and finally got an answer & was told they had several emergencies & would have to do it the next Fri. I said fine, and I got off work the next Fri. No one showed up again. I called again and was told that there was no way he could finance me at the terms he'd agreed to and that I had no contract. I said it would have been nice to have received this news from him prior to the install day, and now a mere 3 weeks before 2011 & all the tax credit expirations. It was 2 hours after they were supposed to have arrived and he said no one could install it that day anymore. After 2 more hours of phone calls, he said he'd have someone install it Sat,

11, because we both agreed that the x-mas season was way too close now for any more no-shows not to run us out of time. He'd give me $200 credit for my troubles. Then he called back & said he was having trouble finding an assistant on the install on a Sat. I offered $100 bonus to assist in procuring one. He accepted, and called back alter saying he'd found someone. The original "quoter" arrived to install Sat morning. No assistant, and the installer was surly & with a chip on his shoulder. We made him a home-cooked Mexican lunch. We fed him Diet Coke all day trying to elevate his mood. To no avail. I peaked in a few times, and noticed he was installing this furnace backwards, like the original had been, but when he "quoted," he said he'd turn it around to face the front of the furnace room when installing it. Today, no dice. He wasn't interested in all the extra pipe work needed to face it forward, it wasn't necessary. I offered to assist him, & he declined several times. The job was completed poorly, but there was heat coming from the unit. He left without servicing the water heater, & without installing a cO2 detector. A month and 5-10 calls later, I finally had most of the paperwork sent needed to file for the rebates & warranty registration. I told the owner days after the install that many aspects of it looks awry, and he said he'd come by and inspect it. That was early

, 2011. It is now Feb and he is not returning my calls. I paid another Angie's List highy rated Co to come by and inspect it for $80 and the guy wrote a long list of deficiencies and improper methods he could see. The hole he drilled through the outside of my house was huge, and just filled with a can of "gap-fill" stuff I had on hand, which he emptied. It looks atrocious from the outside. I mailed the Owner a letter asking him to deal with the issues found, and he has not responded after several weeks.

"I thought that the people who came out from
Denver HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
& Air Conditioning Company were just great. They had installed a furnace for me about four years ago. They had replaced the furnace for me within the week I had called them. I liked everything they did in my previous interaction with them. So, when this offer came, I was quite happy to have them come back and do the work. They made it cheaper and easier for me. Every time I have dealt with them, they have been very courteous and professional. They are great and I would continue to use them in the future. "

"As soon as tech arrived and opened my furnace he started to up sell me on the full service for $160. instead of the $90. check over. He mentioned there was dust around the motor and told me that with a full service I would get things vacuumed and blown out as well as some other things checked. He made it sound like a much more thorough service. He said I could use the $40 discount coupon for either one. I chose the full service but after he was done, it didn't seem to me to be that much more thorough than what I would expect from the $90. minimal service. He completed the "full" service in less than 30 minutes. I feel what I ended up doing was purchasing a service agreement (Energy Savings Program) which meant that if anything happened within the next 12 months they would come out and diagnosis it without a service call charge ($75) and I would receive 15% off of any work done. That could end up being a bargain, but I would say that if your furnace is (a) less than 10 yrs old, and (b) has been working fine and you haven't had a problems you might want to consider getting the $90 version. If you're capable of wiping off the motor, vacuuming out the inside and changing the filter that appeared to be the majority of what was done. I would prefer being told up front that with the $160 full service you're purchasing/getting a one year service plan and list the benefits. If I have a problem within the next 12 months I may feel like I got a bargain. If I don't I may feel like I over paid by $70. ($120 vs. $50 after the coupon discount)"

"I already had recommendation from other A/c company who recommended replacingfurnace AND A/C for more than $5000.then I called this company when the tech diagnosed the problem he wasn't positive so instead of guessing he called his boss who came right over and confirmed tech's diagnosis. They repaired and so far it works great. I really appreciated the tech checking with the boss prior to making repair! No guessing! They saved me $4600"

and his staff came in and did a great job installing our air conditioning. They were quick and clean, and even repaired a few things under our house that needed attention. Afterwards,
Denver HVAC Contractors Provider Name Locked
stayed behind and showed us how to work the new touch thermostat. These guys are great, and we highly recommend them! In fact, we'll be looking for them to do our furnace once we need it. In short, these guys gave a great price, were on-time, quick and clean with the installation, and stayed behind afterwards to make sure all our questions were answered and made sure we knew how to work everything and made sure we were happy. Highly recommended !!!"
