"Gosh, don't i wish i could actually rate this company based on their
work. Unfortunately, they've stood me up twice just to get an estimate
for a bunch of work we'd like to do on our new house. The first time,
they called an hour before the appointment to say that one of their big
jobs for the State of CO was running into trouble, so they couldn't make
it to my house. Today was the reschedule date. After they were 20
mins late, i called. Apparently the estimator is sick, the person who
was supposed to fill in for him is MIA, and the dispatcher never called
me. Although the apologies were profuse and I was told again and again
that they're a small family business ... it's pretty clear that they're
in way over the heads. Given their inability to handle scheduling, i wonder about their ability to handle actual electrical
jobs!
The following week, they called me back, apologizing profusely for standing me up twice,
begging me to give them a third shot. Again, with the "we're a small
biz" spiel, which i fell for. So we scheduled an appointment to get a
quote, and came out. We spent an hour going through my house,
listening to him pontificating about shoddy work done by builders these
days. While i don't disagree, i didn't really see that as helping me
get electrical work done. And he didn't take any notes, swearing up and
down that he's got a great memory and would easily remember the 10
projects we wanted done. He promised that his quote would arrive in a
week, but at the same time, he told me he doesn't really like doing
retail jobs. Guess that was a clue that we wouldn't be getting a quote.
Sure enough, a month later, no quote has arrived. If they don't want
to do retail projects, then they shouldn't waste people's time like
this. don't bother wasting yours ... call someone else!"

"He does renovations, remodeling and repairs. I also used him when my mother passed away to do the bathroom there and touch up the patio wall. He did a good job. I would use him again. He does good quality work at a good price. He is very trustworthy and I have no problem leaving him in my house when I'm not here. I bought lot of the equipments myself. He did the shopping when he worked for my mother's house. He is exceptional on deck work but I didn't have him any deck for me. He did the deck job for my friend. He is not a big time contractor and I don't think he can build a house. I'm planning to put a brick addition to my house and I would call him."

"The electrician inspected the sites in the house where the work was
needed. He clearly explained what needed to be done and why. Some
electrical systems in our 1929 bungalow were updated in the 1970's
before we owned the house. Unfortunately, some of the wire installed in
the same outlets was aluminum and some was copper which apparently is a
bad combination. The electrician had to leave to purchase the proper
supplies for this electrical problem. Upon his return, he completed
installing a special and very safe electrical outlet in our newly
remodeled basement bathroom and a safe electrical outlet in our laundry
room. We had wanted him to complete the electrical switch for the
radiant heating unit newly installed under the bathroom's new ceramic floor.
He explained that because of the design of the unit without a "neutral"
wire, and the heavy electrical load the heating unit requires, to be completely safe, he would
need to install a separate breaker in our current breaker box which
would include a completely new and separate electrical line that would
have to be brought through a crawl space, on through the basement
laundry room ceiling and into the bathroom before the wall switch could
be completed. This cost was estimated to be about $2,000 extra. We
decided to have this done at a separate time since this was beyond our
expected budget. Another task was to install a
new fixture in an upstairs hallway. As he worked on this, he described
more problems with a wire in the switch that was "hot" and always "on"
which is not safe. I chose to not have him install the new fixture
until we could decide what to do about this hot wire in the switch
plate. He said indications were that there was another switch somewhere that was "on". This was an unpleasant surprise. To our knowledge, there has never been another switch, but we do not know what the previous owners had done to the house so there could be another switch that had been closed up and covered over. He would have needed to go up into the attic to discover what
was happening in the electrical wires up there, and I decided this should
wait until a later time. So I am very satisfied with the work he was able to accomplish and the explanations of some of the bungalow's electrical problems. The problems with the house are many, and we will have to have work done in increments as we can budget funds. I definitely will engage in the future. I am very pleased with the special $99 coupon purchased from Angie's List. It definitely brought down the cost of the work done. I spent a total of $235 which included the special outlet units and electrical supplies the electrician purchased for us."

" had previously totally redone our bathroom. We were incredibly pleased with those results and knew we would consider him for kitchen work. We did get several bids and 's was within our budget. Had his bid been higher, we still would have gone with him since we knew the quality of his work. He has fantastic attention to detail.
There were several stumbling blocks in our remodel (older home), but was able to troubleshoot each time to make things work. We have gladly passed his name on to friends who are looking to do remodeling."

"Bill was prompt and professional from the first call we made to ask him for an estimate. We were coming in from out of state and he was more than obliging in meeting our schedule. He impressed us with his
friendliness and knowledge of what needed to be done to remedy our situation. Our patio roof was ready to
be replaced and he gave us a thorough explanation of what would need to be done. His first bid was for a
complete demo and rebuild. While it was a very fair bid, we decided to just remove the roof for now and
clean up everything until we could decide how to proceed. He gladly bid the demo, all clean-up and projected
that the work would take three days. After clearing up some questions with the bid, we contracted with him to do the work. Our daughter who is living in the house was most impressed with Bill and felt his work schedule would give consideration to the fact that she has pets and a new baby. The work was scheduled to begin based on a date that we could be back in town to observe the job. A debris roll-off was delivered prior to the work starting and Bill arrived promptly on the first day. Over the three days, work started promptly and time was
allowed for the pets to come outside. A few other details came up during the demo which Bill explained and
we agreed to add to the Contract. Bill recommended a company to supply the replacement gutters and except for the installation of those, the job was completed and cleaned up in the estimated three days. We are very
satisfied with all of the work and would call him for further projects without hesitation."

"When I bought my house there was a three way switch that was improperly wired. I tried to fix it myself but found a lot of extra wires and other unexpected complications inside the boxes. I called Sundog's number and answered, he was driving and I believe he pulled over to get my information. Later that same day he and his assistant/apprentice [a female!] came out and they didn't hassle me for trying to solve the wiring myself, instead they answered all of my questions and fixed the whole thing in less than an hour. I overheard encouraging his assistant/apprentice and telling her how much more confident and quick she was becoming and I thought this was a great example of working for a quality employer."

"Stellar Remodeling recently completed a series of remodeling and repair projects in my home. The kitchen floor, two bathrooms and a hallway all needed to be renovated and Stellar Remodeling had expertise for all the work. Their work in every detail was exceptional and I am exceedingly pleased with the results. The employees and specialists with Stellar are all experienced and highly skilled professionals. It did not take me long to realize that all of them are true craftsmen who take pride in they work. The work throughout the projects was well managed; the crew took great efforts to protect my floors, carpet and doors and at the end of each day the areas were clean and orderly. But most impressive was that fact that each and every member of the Stellar team took the time to speak with me to address any questions I had or to offer their expertise and advice when I needed it. It was a pleasure to work with all of them. I have already recommended them to others and I am even now planning for their next set of projects in my home."

"Nightmare. Extremely sloppy work, and didn't clean up after themselves. Mixed ivory and white sockets and switches. said I was nick picking when I asked him to use one color throughout house. None of the new switches or plugs are straight. Again, said I was nick picking. 's new wiring has not worked and accuses me of with the wires in attic. I am not able to climb up into the attic due to a fractured hip!!! I paid to have a new switch added in my mechanical closet and they wired it into my original garage level attic light. To turn on attic light you have to climb up into attic several feet to a second switch which was already there. They did the same thing in other parts of my house. said he would not come back again even if the power from the new wiring quit working again."

"He takes into account unknowns and works with the client until it?s right. He?s always checking in to ensure the work was to our satisfaction. And when it wasn?t, he or his subcontractors fixed it or did it over. Case in point ? we weren?t happy with the texture job when we came home after work. He had the drywallers sand it down and in redo parts until we were happy with the look.
Speaking of his subcontractors, they were all superior with the exception of his plumber. The electricians were spot on with their work and they easily passed the inspector?s visits. At our request the job was completely permitted by the city of Denver. The flooring guys were awesome ? diligent, no nonsense, tidy, and quick. Best of all, the hard wood floor came out looking awesome. The drywallers/framers were great. They had their work cut out for them replicating a tricky arch that was used through out the house, and even hard yet, the matched a texture pattern that?s no longer used in modern construction (ours is 65 year old house). The granite counter top people did a great job and the counter top is beautiful. The plumber did an ok job but his work was not to the same quality standards as his other contractors and his punctuality and availability left something to be desired. The cabinet designer was very thorough in her design and ordered everything that was needed for the job. She was extremely detail oriented and it showed in the final product. The painters did a great job even though they used paint of our choosing (Bher) which was subpar to their usual paint of choice ( ). Finally, the cabinet installer, , did a great job installing the cabinets perfectly (not easy task with a lath and plaster ceiling and brick and stucco outer wall) and custom building some of the cabinetry. also took over as project manager when was called away out town on a family emergency. served as go-between at the end of the project to make sure all the contractors finalized their work to our satisfaction. In short, has really found some great subcontractors to work with, minus the plumber. They were punctual, trustworthy, polite, and very good at what they respectively do.
worked the schedule he originally provided very well. There were a couple of delays in job due to some family issues with one of his subcontractors but besides that everything went like clockwork. Given the extent of the job, everyone is amazed that this job was done in three weeks.
There are a couple of negatives ? the plumber was hard to get a hold of and risked blowing the schedule for everyone else. The framers left a bit of a mess in the attic but I?m sure only a type A personality like me would be bothered by something like that. And lastly, the counter top people put the project 2 days behind schedule due to a family issue (it?s a family run business).
To summarize, was very easy to work with, had great ideas, and really knows his business. He?s a great communicator (critical I?ve found to remodel projects) and let us know exactly what to provide (we bought some of the stuff on our own) and by when, and was always available to deal with issues or questions. His payment schedule was also very reasonable. Although his estimate was not the lowest, we were willing to pay a little extra to ensure the job was done right and we weren?t hit with a bunch of costs. This was a pleasurable experience (as pleasurable as a kitchen remodel can possibly be) but most importantly, the kitchen came out perfectly and we owe that to ."

"Sun dog is the BEST!!! We were told by 3 different electricians that we needed a new service put in because our 1950 house's electrical system was out dated. from Sundog came out, took a look and told us we didn't need a new service, we just needed additional breakers put into our existing box. He taught us some rules about household electric and how to tell if/when a new service would ACTUALLY be needed. He saved us over $3000 by being an honest and helpful person. He was prompt, professional and taught us a lot about electric work. We have already referred to 3 people and will definitely be using them again."
