"Overall the project went well, he did everything we talked about and even did a couple of things I had originally told him not to worry about and we even added some things to the list. He was very responsible and showed up when he said he would. Easy to work with and was very helpful. If I had to say anything on the negative side it would be the clean up. There was still a lot of dust and texture stuff around in the living room but outside the house was cleaned up really well. I would definitely use him again in the future."

" was extremely thorough throughout the installation process. We had hired another company a couple of years back and spent $180 to get the door realigned and they put in a lousy effort; simply remounting and shimming the door without appropriate framing or stabilizing actions.
's work, in contrast to the other company indicated a dedication and level of knowledge that made the job a total success.
It was wonderful to have a working door again after 5 years of slow deterioration in its functionality.
also went to the hardware store and bought a new door and hardware. I know this added time, as well as additional time spent correcting other issues with the framing. I asked him if we could pay him for the extra time spent to make the job right and he said he'd stick to his original bid.
I'd certainly use him again for a bigger job."

"It was a very positive experience from begining to end. He was available, on time, professional, and while he wasn't the least expensive of those I got bids from, everything else about him made paying just a little more worth it. And it was."

" did a great job, very professional but would take the time to do the job right. Flexible to changes in the basic plan, if he can't do something he knows someone who can. It's not often you still like your contractor at the end of a long remodel, but I wouldn't hesitate to call him again for another project."

"Angel (owner of ) came out in mid May to take measurements and give us a quote. I could immediately tell that he knew his stuff when it came to building patio covers. He quickly outlined the process from required permits to build techniques that would be used. We had another contractor give us a bid prior to my calling and they seemed to be much less confident about how to go about the work. For example, they weren't aware that any permits were required for adding a structure that adjoins a home in the City of Dallas. Angel ran through all of these items in short order and convinced me that he wouldn't take short cuts.
We did run into a minor snag with the city engineer making some changes to the original plans submitted for the patio cover. Basically the plan was to cover about 75% of the patio area and use only two support posts. The engineer didn't feel this was adequate and would only approve the plans if we used a third center support and pushed the cover out further to cover the entire concrete pad, which actually turned out for the best. The great thing was while there was extra expense for another foundation hole / footer and more materials to cover the additional area, did not attempt to charge us more for the change.
Once work began, the team moved quickly despite numerous issues with rainy weather. The process ended up taking about two weeks. Had it not been for the weather, it would have taken half that time.
I can say that we're extremely pleased with the outcome as well as with ."

"Great results. Hence, we call them all the time for projects. is a careful craftsman. He has remodeled homes for us, painted and repaired our homes inside and out, hung chandeliers, gotten rid of termites, installed pumps in the crawl space and fans in the attic, refinished furniture, etc., etc. He is reliable, and his prices are reasonable."

"I found here on Angie's List and found him to be very pleasant, knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. After dealing with other contractors who wouldn't call back, or follow up with an estimate, I found 's professionalism to be a breath of fresh air. For whatever reason, the other contractors would not want to do my project, which at first was only going to be a patio rebuild. However, once I called , I had an appt set up for an estimate to be given promptly. followed up with the estimate shortly thereafter, and I hired him. Just happy to finally find someone who would help and not treat my job as if it's too small for them. Well, proceeded to give me numerous ideas on how the patio should be rebuilt. He emailed me pictures, he diagrams, he patiently explained everything I needed to know in order to make an intelligent decision. I have worked with other contractors and truly appreciated this aspect, as most say they will e-mail pictures, or follow up and they never do. Well, performed the work, and did a great job, and I love looking at my patio. As for the rest of the work, I hired him because I was having difficulty with my other contractor. I was working on multiple projects at one time, and both of their schedules were freeing up at the same time. I didn't mean to schedule everything like that, but it sort of wound up like that. Well, I asked if he would look at some of the kitchen cabinetry and lighting, and found his response and bid to be reasonable. I mostly just enjoyed his professionalism, as the other contractor I was using was getting annoyed with some of my requests. I decided to dump him in favor of . He performed all the work as described, and did a great job. One thing he did help with was picking the recessed lighting. I was very overwhelmed about the process, and took my hand and we went to Lowe's and he slowly explained my options, and took things out of boxes to demonstrate what the look would be. I was just willing to put something in the cart and go, but he wanted to make sure I understood what I was purchasing so that I would not be stuck with something I would not like. I liked that aspect of his work style, and would highly recommend. He also, always calls back, answers his phone, and is very organized. All in all, I love my new recessed lighting, cabinets (they look brand new), patio, and door. That was a last minute throw in, and he was happy to help. Thanks !"

"Problem #3: Lastly, I wanted a 4th coat of polyurethane on my floor, and he quoted me a price and said that he would do it. I called him twice to schedule, and he never returned my calls.
My husband and I are extremely disappointed with this entire experience and wish to point out that it?s not necessarily when things go right that one should consider when hiring; it?s when things go wrong! What recourse does the tradesman take when problems occur with the job? Is he responsible? Clearly Ciaran does not take responsibility for serious problems when they occur, and that is a warning sign to me.

" did a great job of transforming my house. It was in need of general repair and paintwork and I needed somebody who could handle all these tasks in a limited time frame. The work was done quickly and efficiently and with a smile. They were very reasonably priced and always stayed on budget. I am very satisfied with their work and would use them again."

"I found on Angie's List. provided an estimate on 3/1/2010. orginally quoted $800 for the job and when I told him I had an estimate for $600, he matched it. I wrote him a check for half and he said it would take "about 10 days" and confirmed that in an email. When I didn't hear back from in 10 days, I called to get a status. He said that he was having trouble matching the stain and that I should expect it completed the following friday. Again, not a word from so I called on that Friday. There was no answer and instead of a return call, I received an email the next day. Here's the text... judge for yourself...
"I know you have been anxious for the Tub enclosure. Unfortunately, due to suppliers that I rely on for my materials I am two weeks behind on the project I currently have in my shop. that means my client for that project, and the client waiting for me to start their project after this one as well as you are being stacked up.
I am putting a check in the mail today for the deposit you entrusted me with almost three weeks ago, as well as the color sample.
I certainly had no intention in this delay and it will hurt my business because of this supplier.
I apologize for the inconvenience I have caused you.
"
I have a number of problems with the way handled this experience.
First, when we spoke the week before, he mentioned a stain match holding up the project, not a supplier problem. Either he failed to mention that or his story changed.
Second, there was NO communication from . I called twice in 3 weeks.
Third, there was no attempt to call me back and ask if I was OK with a further delay. Instead I get an email with a "sorry and here's your check back". I was anxious to have the job completed, but never communicated a drop dead date of any kind.
Call me silly here but I think the job was too small for Mr. and he didn't want to deal with it. Perhaps he underpriced it wanting the business. I really don't know. What I do know is that he set me back over a month and caused me additional frustration having to engage the bidding process all over again.
I don't know why this guy is so highly rated on Angie's List. He deserves an F and is getting one from me!!!
If you have a small project don't even bother with ."
