Dallas Remodeling Contractors Reviews

"We both have two left hands and no spatial intelligence in this house, so we're useless with minor home repairs. We have primarily used
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, who is extremely hard working, helpful, knowledgable, and competent. There's one person at the company for booking that is a little hard to deal with. Beyond that, there's only one complaint, but it's a fairly big one. Charging a $40 "service fee" on TOP of the $65/hour rate seems rather indefensible. Of course, I acknowledge it's worse for me because I'm sometimes having things done that are so small (hanging racks, putting large furniture together) that I should probably use taskrabbit. But it is steep either way."

"All work has been done on a timely and professional basis. I was in process of moving from another city and left much of the work to be done while I was away from Dallas. An old wooden deck and
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was removed and a beautiful new brick patio was put in. Much of the work was done during the bad winter weather when I encouraged the crew to go home and stay warm, but they wanted to continue working. Mr.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and his workers work very hard and do not need constant supervision. Before I moved in, I trusted them to complete work and gave them a key to my house when I was not here. Mr.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
made good suggestions about how to do things when I was not sure. However, if I have definite ideas about what I want done, he works hard to satisfy my requirements. He began today on the remodeling of my kitchen which includes new cabinets, backsplash and tile floors. He met me at the cabinet and tile showrooms to select the products which was most helpful. I look forward to my new kitchen and will come back with another review when the work is finished. But I expect to be pleased with the work. I would certainly recommend this company for remodeling your home.

"I was not at all pleased with the results. I was unable to use the image to determine the size and correct placement of fixtures necessary to even begin to shop for fixtures that would work to make this bathroom wheelchair accessible.
I contacted Angie's List to express my disappointment with the results. Angie's thought the staff was very nice and would work with me and so I continued to email for more details until I was told by
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
that their software was limited and could not provide anything more usable.

"Each time I have used
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, the most important thing for them was that I was satisfied with the work.
They are very professional, and make sure that the work is done exactly as you want it. They keep you informed when unanticipated things come up, as they usually do, and communicate clearly how those things will impact the price and scope of the work. They have great skill with different materials, and had to do carpentry, intricate tile work, and floor preparation. He also has a network of quality and reasonable subcontractors for things he doesn't do.

"Our complaints are:
1) We had two powder rooms remodeled by Agape and the marble tile in both bathrooms is in the process of cracking due to the way it was installed. Agape shows no interest in, or concern about, our problem and offers nothing as a solution (other than having us pay to do it all again).
2) Agape is essentially non-responsive to our efforts to address the situation. Our emails and phone calls are only returned after repeated attempts. Some just aren’t returned at all.
3) Agape begs off responsibility citing a one year warranty” but the contract we signed has no mention of a warranty period.
4) Agape suggests we pay to have a job re-done that is just a couple of years old.
5) Agape did not install the floor tiles according to the specifications in the contract we signed with them.
Details below:
We paid Agape to remodel two powder rooms in April/May 2012 and contacted them about the cracking of the tile on November 21, 2013. We paid them for new marble tiles and for the labor to install the marble tiles and to install new sinks, vanities, fixtures and toilets that we had bought. These are not primary bathrooms and they receive very low usage. After several months we first noticed a faint white line in the white marble tiles in one of the powder rooms. Over the next several months we saw the lines grow and then eventually we noticed they were appearing in the other powder room. These are not cracks, yet. They are thin white lines that subtly contrast with the white marble tiles. We didn’t realize what was happening until we got a contractor to look at the
situation when he was in our home for another job.
Last fall we had a tile contractor in our home and we showed him the lines and asked his opinion. He told us the lines meant that the tiles had cracked on the underside and that eventually the cracks would work their way through to the top of the tiles. On November 21 we called Agape and asked to speak to
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, one of the owners and the person who oversaw the remodeling.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked

prepared the bid and job specs.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
in their office told us she would take care of the problem and that we did not need to speak to
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. After a few days of not hearing back from anyone we followed up with
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, who told us
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
had been made aware of the problem and that
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
, who installed the marble, would contact us on December 2.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
did not call on the 2nd so we emailed
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
on
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
4. We got no response to that email so we sent another email on the 9th. Again, no response, so we sent another on
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
12. To this we got an email reply from
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
saying that
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
would call us to set up an appointment to inspect the marble. Her email said “I will be sure and check back with you tomorrow to make sure he has called and set up a time to come and see. I apologize for the delay, we just hadn’t gotten to all the emails yet. I will be in touch!”. Also on
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
12 we got an email from
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
saying “I apologize again for the delay in my response, and have re-set my reminder to keep your issue front of mind until there is some sort of resolution.”
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
came on 12/13/13 to look at the marble tiles and he said we must have foundation problems. These two powder rooms are on opposite ends of our house and we have no signs of foundation problems. We also have marble tiles elsewhere in the house and they are not cracked.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
said they would be happy to install replacement tiles but that it would be at our sole cost since their
work has a one year warranty. The contract we signed with Agape, however, makes no mention of a warranty period for their work.
While waiting for replies from Agape we had the owner of second tile company look at our situation. He agreed with the first contractor that the white lines we were seeing were evidence of cracks underneath the tile and that over time the tile would crack all the way through. Both contractors felt the base material underneath the tile must be failing. Our frustration here is compounded because
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
did not install the tiles according to the specs in our contract. He chose another preparation underneath the tiles from the preparation
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
had specified. We can’t help but wonder if that might be part of the problem. After
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
’s visit we consulted with the owner of foundation company and with the owner of a third tile company who he recommended, and his assessment is also that there is movement in the base material that is causing the marble to crack. He went on to say that when he installs tile he makes sure to have at least 2-2.5 inches of “dry pack” underneath the tile to prevent the just the type of problems we are experiencing.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
did not check back with us after
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
’s visit as she had said she would. She has not contacted us at all. We also never heard again from
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
.
Buyer Beware.

and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They came when they said they would come, the left the job site clean at the end of the day. Their estimates were spot on and the few times we had change orders the pricing was incredibly reasonable. His specialty is tile work, and his workmanship was excellent. We really did the entire house, all floors, electrical, knocked out some walls, cabinetry, counter-tops, plumbing, shower doors, painting, appliances, literally the house was gutted and everything looks fantastic. Our project was pretty sophisticated and he even helped with the wiring and installation of all the big flat screens. It looks marvelous. I trust him and found his pricing to be highly competitive and pretty much the best in almost all areas. The one time I didn't listen to him, we were sorry, but
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
still helped us with the solution. I can't say enough about him and would recommend him to anyone with a small or very large project. I saw one bad review and my guess it was because
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
saw someone doing something wrong and said something about it. He shoots straight and only knows how to be honest. If you
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
you will be happy.

"My new kitchen, breakfast room, and utility room are beautiful. The design, workmanship and installation are everything that I had envisioned--looks gorgeous and I would not change a thing.
My new master bathroom is a work of art!! It turned out even better than I had pictured. Again, all quality workmanship.
I highly recommend

"This company was such a pleasure to work with. They took care of everything~!!! From obtaining the proper permits from the city & the approval from the
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
.
Their crew worked all day & into the night time hours to finish the job. They were delayed starting the project due to adverse weather, but as soon as they were able to work, they stayed after dark, setting up wrok lights to complete as much as they could each & every day.
I have a ground level patio with a 2nd floor bedromm above. The beams that were holding "up" my second floor were absolutley rotten. They replaced all of them with larger, new beams that will not rot.
I was so impressed with their work, I already have a bid for the next project at my house.
Their's is the only bid I need ~ I KNOW I WANT THEM TO DO THE JOB.....

"Had to call
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
2 times and leave 2 messages before I got a call back. Finally got a call back and we discussed the project and set a tentative date for him to come out and look at the job. He said the job was something he could definitely handle and would want to do. He said would call back and confirm the date after he checked his schedule. Never received a call back.
Called
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
twice after I didn't hear back and left a message. Never heard back from him.
Complete waste of time!!

"I enjoyed working with
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
and recommend him to everyone I talk to in need of home remodel work. He was responsive, professional and fair. The work required 3 weeks, and due to a number of factors, I needed him to get started the day after I took possession.
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was the only contractor that committed to starting the day I requested. He never took advantage of add-ons. When things popped up outside the scope of the original bid,
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
would generate a quote, email it to me, discuss the components with me and wait for my approval before proceeding with the work. I highly recommend
Dallas Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
for all home remodel work.
