Psychiatric Care Reviews in Dallas

I visited Dr.
b/c I wanted an evaluation for ADD. She listened closely to what I had to say and was very personable. She interviewed me according to the criteria of the
Amen Add Scale, which from what I've researched is an accurate diagnostic tool and effectively describes the patterns and behaviors of someone with ADD. She suggested some treatment options and suggested certain medications, counseling, and coaching. One thing I appreciated is that she didn't try to push her services on me (she doesn't prescribe meds). A few days after I met with her, she emailed me a written report of our meeting, which included her diagnosis, so I could take it to my physician. Also, I understand Amen is sometimes seen as controversial, and Dr.
did not push me to follow his treatment plan. One minor problem I encountered when I initially called her office, was that her staff could not adequately explain to me what type of evaluations the office does for ADD. I assumed they would have be able to answer multiple choice, written answers, or interview, but none of the women who answered the phones could tell me

The office is in a nice location, located in a very nice building. The waiting area is clean, quiet, and comfortable. The two times I've been to see Dr.
, he took me into his office either right at my appointment time, or a few minutes early. Both times, we sat down and he asked how I was doing and how the medicine seemed to be working. He asked good questions, gave me interesting information to help me understand what I'm going through, and he showed me many different medication options to consider for the future in case what we're trying doesn't do what I want it to do.

Both meetings lasted about 30 minutes. He sent in prescriptions immediately for me so that I would be able to pick them up within the next few hours.

Psychiatric Care reviews in Dallas

Years ago, in 1993, she was attacked when she was teaching in Baltimore. As a result she has suffered from post-traumatic stress. Her previous psychiatrist in Texas was wonderful. She used to be under constant observation and medication. When that psychiatrist retired he referred her to Dr.

. He monitors her very closely and tries to reduce her medications. He also gives her good advice. She goes to him periodically. She likes him. His office is nice and they are always on time. She has never had any complaints or difficulties. He has made great references for our daughter too. He also does talk therapy with another expert in his office.

I waited more than 15 minutes to see Dr.

. During the session he constantly took notes and rarely made eye contact. He was abrupt in his demeanor. Dr.

seemed to be more interested in conducting research than providing patient care.

Really disengaged and abrupt office staff. Unprofessional looking, unshaven men, tattooed women, behind a window that is slammed after your question is tersely answered. I always arrive early, and check in with the same person who I know their name and they don't' know mine. My deductible and co-pay were satisfied months ago and the office staff just asks for a random amount of money each time I check in. I gently remind them that my co pay and deductible are met. They say nothing, hand me a clip board with 2 full pages that must be filled out each time I visit. Then the wait begins. Appointments are scheduled at 20 minute increments. If my appointment is at 12:20, I know for a fact, I will still be waiting and not be seen at 12:50. The wait is usually 30+ minutes and has been as much as 45, which simply cannot work with my schedule. I have clients that depend on me. When I book an appointment, I expect to bee seen within 5 minutes. I did think Dr. Silverblatt was nice, but the scheduling and office staff were completely unacceptable and something I could not work with. I was seen three twice by the Dr. At both appointments, there was a wait in excess of 25 minutes. After a wait in excess of that on my third visit I rescheduled. After an excessive wait on the rescheduled date, I rescheduled once again. After an excessive wait on that visit, I changed practices. Caveat Emptor.

He is brilliant. He askes you a lot of questions which helps you find the answers. He is very good at what he does and I would highly recommend him as well.

All I can say is that I have NEVER had this level of care from ANY doctor-especially a psychiatrist. I have been to many and after the initial appointment, the psychiatrist has spent maybe 5 minutes with me-and that time frame is being generous. Dr.

spends as much time as is necessary to properly diagnose and treat your illness. I have never gone to an appointment and felt as though I was being rushed out. Further, he asks many questions to accurately determine the level of progress with regard to your illness. Additionally, he thoroughly explains the diagnosis, treatment plan, and why he is prescribing what he is prescribing. He also encourages supplementary reading material to assist in understanding your illness. Whenever I have had to come into the office immediately and without an appointment, Dr.

has always found a way to fit me into his schedule-even if it means that he stays late!! Last, but certainly not least, whenever I have called him to ask a question or discuss the medication I am currently prescribed, he has ALWAYS called me back within an hour (usually within 5-15 minutes unless he is with another patient). I have never had this type of treatment from any doctor-especially psychiatrists. If you are looking for a doctor who truly cares about your health and recovery-DR.
