Dallas Pool Cleaners Reviews

"I just moved into a new place with a hot tub and therefore needed the tub drained and refilled and a basic check-up on the unit. All was done expertly. Later a problem with the hot tub arose, completely unrelated to any services provided, and I called to set up a visit. When they realized it was an issue that was better solved by another service--official dealers in the somewhat unusual brand of hot tub I have--they gave a recommendation and sent the business away in the interest of customer service. That's impressive, and I felt obligated to report this unusually positive experience. If trust is important to you when hiring contracted work, this is a place that has proven worthy of it.
"When the new pump was installed, I took pictures and notified the warranty company of the extremely poor workmanship regarding the electrical wiring to the new pump. When installing a new pump, it is typical to install a new electrical whip from the timer switch to the pump. The wires were left exposed going into the pump though they did have insulation on them. Guess what.....last week the pump started arcing and tripping the circuit breaker so yet again my pool could not circulate....this of course during the winter weather putting the plumbing at risk for damage due to freezing.
My warranty company finally sent out a different contractor who took one look at the work and commented that he would not let whoever installed my pump even wash his truck the work was so bad. The pump had not been grounded properly and a wire was missing for this purpose and could have been an extremely serious safety issue. The new contractor was able to install the new new power whip in a manner of 15 minutes or so......proving once again that Carefree simply does not Care at all......
Avoid this company unless you want unprofessional, non workmanship like repairs, and a complete lack of responsiveness from the rude and argumentative office staff.......
"I think this service is highly overpriced. The quality of the weekly cleaning is poor. They put much more chemical in than my hot tub requires. There was an extra service charge of $132 for a UV bulb changing that occurs annually despite the fact that the change was made during the quarterly cleaning and everything was already opened up and the person was already working on the tub and waiting for the water to drain. There is no flexibility on price and the prices charged for chemicals is full retail - no discount for service customers. I would not recommend these people to anyone. The only reason we started with them in the first place is because they installed our hot tub.
"I engaged
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
of Leak Tech for a complete model of my 25 year old pool (tile, mastic and replaster but not coping) and was very pleased with
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
's work. He is pleasant to deal with, an excellent communicator and very responsive to calls and emails. His prices were competitive (neither the lowest nor the highest). I contacted several of the many references he provided and selected him on the basis of the positive reports, plus his communication skills. I will consider Leak Tech for any future work, and am happy to recommend them to other homeowners.
Both during the bid process and while the work was being performed,
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
was always happy to respond promptly to questions about the job. He explained the schedule and timing in advance and kept to the schedule. Whenever there was a surprise or complication (and there always are in pool remodels), he let me know right away and discussed various options.
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
also responded pleasantly and professionally when I made changes. For example, I had originally chosen not to reinstall spotter tiles on the pool steps. But my wife wanted to replicate the original look, so I called
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
the day before the pool was to be plastered to let him know. He was not fazed at all by the last minute change, quoted me a fair price to add the spotter tiles, and proceeded on schedule.
Compared to some pool remodel companies that perform some or most of the remodel work with their own employees,
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
's company is essentially a project manager. All of the work (other than
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
's supervision) is performed by subcontractors. All of the subcontractors who worked on my project were reputable companies and I was pleased with the quality of their work. I ended up hiring the pool chemical startup subcontractor to provide my weekly chemical and cleaning service, and the electricians turned out to be the same company that had installed the pool equipment 25 years ago.
Because of this structure,
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
was not on the job site every day. He came to the site when important work was scheduled and periodically to inspect the work. Also, whenever I called, he either answered right away or called back promptly, and whenever the subcontractors or I needed him to come by to discuss something, he did so promptly.
I arranged to work from home on the days that the remodeling was going on, and I think that makes a big difference in any remodeling job. Any remodeling project produces some surprises and requires decisions to be made on the spot. My being there to consult with the workers and
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
as needed avoided delays and problems and
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
to better aesthetic results.
The best example of this was retiling of the spa attached to my pool. When the tile guys laid out tiles for the curved top of the spa according to the agreed plan, they felt that layout was not attractive. They showed me the layout and described their concerns (with which I agreed). We discussed different solutions, and they proposed hand-cutting the 6 inch tiles into two custom sizes so that everything would fit more attractively into the limited space. It took them a lot of additional time to hand cut the tiles and set them in the new layout. We were able to alter the original layout to achieve a much superior result because (1) the tile workers really cared about the aesthetic quality of their work, and (2) I was right there so that they could show me their concerns and we could decide on the changes without delaying the job schedule. I think this anecdote compliments both
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
and the quality of his subcontractors.

My pool remodel was finished on time and I am very pleased with the results.
"We selected them as one of the companies from which we got quotes to do our pool project (new construction).
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
came to our home and reviewed our project and asked many questions about what we wanted. He's a very competent guy and did a good job to understand our needs. He built a proposal for us a week later and I went to their showroom to review it. They are professional operation with all of the potential elements on display for you to see and select. We made our selections and had him update his proposal accordingly. The price of course did rise (there is only one direction with most pool companies so negotiate hard BEFORE you sign a contract. We reviewed proposals from 6 other pool companies and eliminated most almost immediately.
It came down to three strong contenders,
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, Advance and Gold
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
Pools. All three had good recommendations and made very professional proposals. The prices for the project ranged from over $100K to $65 for the stripped down version (so yes, there are big differences in price).
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
fell roughly in the middle and they were willing to move on price to meet where we wanted to be. Advance (
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
) Pools is a much smaller company, but very competent so would absolutely consider them in the future, but in the case they were not very competitive in terms of the product offering compared to the two larger companies.
In reviewing their proposal, I would highlight following strengths:
- 1/2" Rebar (much stronger than the 3/8" that most pool companies use)
- Very competent in terms of equipment offering (I personally like Jandy)
- Smart approach to plumbing your pool by running pipes through a single trench so they are easier to service
-Design in terms of Spa - recommended a
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
's Chair (4 jet chair) in the spa, which was a great idea.
-Most of the people who would work on your pool are their employees (higher accountability), but still some contractors (ask this question)
-They use dry gunite, which is shot in place (stronger)
-Gravel rock base instead of just sand and they build walls on own footing (not on deck)
-They tend to use the cheaper rocks and boulders for
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
(Oklahoma River & Flagstone) instead of Arkansas, which is harder
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
is a nice guy, but got a bit impatient with us toward the end and was ready to move on to the next customer
-Design was not as good as some of the others (less creative) and they did not have the 3d modeling demo that most places use, which really helps you visualize what its going to look like.
-they push Salt systems, which have more reliability issues and require more maintenance for your rocks and decking
Ultimately, it was a very tough decision and I feel we would have likely been happy if we had gone with them as they are quality company. Interestingly, when we made the decision to go with their competitor I held off communicating to them for a few days in case anything went wrong (which we know can happen) and I never heard from
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
. I would have thought he would contact me to find out what I was doing, but never heard from him. Made me feel a little better about our decision though. I would have shared this feedback with him as well.
Ultimately, I would say they are a quality organization and if you like their design then you could do a lot worse than working with them.
A couple of tips for people building pools:
-Negotiate the sewer and gas reroute into the cost of the pool (unless you are 100% sure its not going to be touched as it will)
-Negotiate ANYTHING you think you want upfront as the day you sign the contract, EVERY change costs you.
-Over estimate your decking as you will want more, trust me. It doesn't cost anything to reduce it later as the cost is 2X once you agree to move forward...
-Review the plans in detail, THEY ALL PROMISE things that don't show up in the plan. Over-clarify and GET IT IN WRITING! They quickly "forget" what they promised to do. I have had to do a couple times already...
-IT will take longer than you think, it always does...6 weeks? No way, 8-10 weeks is far more realistic if its an intricate pool.
-Negotiate any landscaping repair you want UP FRONT, or you will get your yard back looking like a moonscape...they do not replace grass unless you specifically ask in the contract...
-All pool companies try to get as much up front as possible, keep in mind that you want to hold back about 10% to make sure they finish the job. They will push back, but will take the work and you get piece of mind that it gets done.
"This was a huge project as our pool is very large and very deep. And the pool was difficult to access as the home backs to a lake. The whole process was seamless and easy, from signing the contract to completion of the project was less than a month! The crews were courteous and professional and

I had a huge, ugly eyesore in my yard I was considering having demolished.

"We contacted Sandy on Angie's List and he did come out to meet with me fairly promptly. He was very professional and seemed like a decent guy, although its a red flag for me when someone continues to tell you how honest they are…
He walked through my yard and listened to my needs and seemed to actually understand the project fairly well. Then he vanished like a ghost into the night. I never heard from him again and even though I had left him a couple of messages, he never called or emailed me. I don't want to really give him a bad rating as he could be very competent, but did not appreciate that he just blew me off when he promised me that I would have a proposal from him in a week or so. Just flakey.

"In April 2013, I contacted All Pool Pro
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
to provide cleaning service on my pool. When I arrived home, there was a person cleaning the pool, but in attempting to speak with her about some questions about the pool and service, she deferred to the owner,
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, and said he would be by that afternoon. He never arrived. In the meantime, the woman removed a piece of my pool equipment (Polaris) from my property. Once I eventually reached Mr.
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, I was told the Polaris was removed "for service" and that he would call me back once he determined when it would be ready. I never heard back from him, and when I was finally able to reach him in October 2013, he informed me that the woman who removed the Polaris was in fact his ex-wife
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, and that she took the Polaris because she felt I "owed her" for cleaning the pool that day, although I never received a bill or invoice for the one-time cleaning.
Since that time, I have tried numerous times to contact both Mr. ad Mrs.
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
. Mr.
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
at one point attempted to deny involvement, saying his ex-wife was "vindictive" and he was not involved with her cleaning route. He later admitted he did in fact have possession of my Polaris, and agreed to return it. I have spent numerous hours playing phone tag with Mr.
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
, culminating today (11/29/13) when he stated he would return the stolen property (for the second time). He never arrived and I was unable to reach him directly, but left a message that I would file a complaint with the BBB and Dallas police.
"We had some issues with an outdoor kitchen and fire pit that we had installed a few years ago and I needed someone to repair cracked stonework and other cosmetic issues. I got
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
's number from a contractor doing other work for me. I took the fact that another contractor would recommend him as a good sign that he would do a good job. He responded quickly to my message and came out within a few days to look at our outdoor kitchen. He gave me several options on how he could make the repairs and answered all of my questions. When we called to schedule the work he got us on the schedule quickly and they were right on time to do the repairs.
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
was very professional from the first call through the completion of the work. He let me know what was happening at every stage and answered all of my questions. The results look great & we are very happy with how everything turned out. I would certainly hire
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
"On a positive,
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
pools did send two men out that day to work extensively on the pool to correct the multiple issues. They were in daily contact with us and did make multiple trips, daily often, to correct the problem. This continued for weeks. They even explained that I shouldn't have to do anything to the pool after their weekly visits. For that, I am very pleased and would recommend their pool, services. The men who came were respectful, knowledgeable and straightforward. I respect that very much. They discovered a leak that the subcontractor had caused and explained how that was contributing to our problems. We continue to use them and I will say our pool has never looked better! Thank you
Dallas Pool Cleaners Provider Name Locked
Pools. We continue to use them and I couldn't be happier. They corrected the problem without charge. I would however review the subcontractors recommended as they themselves do not stand behind their recommendations.
