Dallas Ophthalmologists Reviews

"This is the most unpleasent and unfriendly customer care experience I have ever encountered with any doctor's staff ever. I had an eye exam and called today to explain how my reading glass prescription is not working well with my contact lenses and that I would like the doctor to take another look at the prescription and that I was willing to come in.

Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
who answered the phone had a hard time understanding what I was saying and understanding that I was wearing the reading prescription on top of distance lenses and was not talking about progressive lenses. She rudely told me that she did not like the way I was talking and put me on hold.

Then a second person called
Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
came on the phone. I tried to explain to her what had happened in my conversation with
Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
. She did not respond to my complaint and told me that someone would pull up my chart and call me back. This was at 12:40 pm today. I waited for 10 minutes and then called back to ask when I may expect a call back and got the incredible response that it would be between now and the end of the day - to simply be able to explain my situation and discuss what to do.

In the meantime my work is at a standstill because the solution offered by the doctor does not work for me.Unbelievable that such customer service can exist in this day and age.

A thoroughly unpleasant customer experience that I would not wish on anyone.

"I have been seeing her for over 15 years. I give her and her staff wonderful reviews. They are professional, courteous, friendly, and they have the latest equipment to test your eyes. They also have a great office environment. I would highly recommend them."

"After telling me that he could fix the problem and we could go ahead and schedule the surgery, he asked me if the circles under my eyes bothered me. I had been crying the night before, so my eyes were a little puffy, but by no means do I have need for cosmetic surgery to correct a non-existent problem. (One would think that an M.D. would be able to tell the difference between swollen eyes and eyes puffy from fat tissue.) Regardless, I was taken aback, but asked them how much the procedure would cost just because I was curious. I was told that additional lower lid blepharoplasty would be $4500 - $2000 less than the normal $6500 and this is to remove non-existant fat from under my eyes??!! My friends told me that if this was a procedure that I actually wanted then this was WAY too much to pay. I declined that treatment, but they went ahead to check my benefits, which are all good, etc...and called me to tell me that they would require payment up front, regardless of my insurance and that the cost of the upper lid surgery (medical procedure - not cosmetic) would cost $4500. I will not have my surgery done there simply because I do not want to give them my business and money - regardless of how qualified Dr.
Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
is. I am so tired of greedy doctors!!!!!

"After researching for many years the various options for corrective eye procedures, I decided the time was right to correct my nearsightedness and slight astigmatism.

I researched and visited several
Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
doctors. Even though there are many "budget" $595 per eye,
Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
-mill provider, I wanted the best. Being in the health care field, I especially wanted to make sure I found the right ophthalmologist for me....someone I could trust with my eyes and vision. A previous optometrist had recommended
Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
and when I saw the in the Best Doctors in Dallas (voted on by the
Dallas Ophthalmologists Provider Name Locked
), I put them on my short list of doctor groups to visit.

I was impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. They answered my questions AND I had the opportunity to meet with the doctor before deciding on the procedure.

Because this procedure is generally not covered by insurance and I was going to pay out of pocket, I wanted the best I could afford. They don't come cheap. Everything about the procedure was explained, step-by-step before and during the procedure. Your care is covered for a year (office visits, follow-up, redos/enhancements - if you need some retweaking). I have visited twice since my procedure, which was originally in Feb 2011. I had both eyes done (I did go back and forth with whether to do one, then the other). Three months later, I had an enhancement to one eye.

"He explained to me that my contacts were poor-fitting. He assured me that in six months he could get my contacts to fit better. When I mentioned

"He is fine. I have been going to him for a long time. He is just a good doctor. I like him and he is easy to talk to. He is fairly easy to get into. The office staff are fine and pretty friendly."

"I was very impressed with Dr. Saland. She was very friendly and was able to diagnose my problem when other doctors have not been able to. I am currently on medication and will see her for a follow up visit. The only issue was the wait time. I did not see her until appr. 1 hour after my scheduled appointment. Dr. Saland did acknowledge this, and indicated that she had been out of the office the week before and that was causing the backup."
A
"He was excellent and he did a great job. He thoroughly tested my eye. He did not pressure me to have some things done, and instead is just going to watch the issues. There is a little bit of wait time, but once you get in there he gives you all the time in the world. He explains things, goes over things and lets me be part of the decision process."
