Neurology Reviews in Dallas

During my initial appointment with Dr.
, he gave me a packet explaining migraines and possible triggers. He gave me a prescription for Maxalt-MLT for the migraines. At the end of the appointment, Dr.
scheduled me for 3 scans of my brain, head, and neck.
The next week, the nurse called me to read me the report for the first 3 scans. I didn’t understand what any of it meant since she was reading the report verbatim and wasn’t helpful in explaining what it all meant. I was very concerned after that call since I didn’t know if anything on the report was serious or not. I called back and left a message to try to see if I could talk to Dr.
. The office called me back later and said that the nurse scheduled a 4th scan along with blood tests, and said she would also sit down with me to go over the initial report again. Right after I did the 4th scan and blood tests, my girlfriend and I met with the nurse. She, again, simply read the initial report to us. We asked some questions, but we got the sense that she was annoyed with our questions. Also, her responses to the questions were a little vague, leading us to believe that she may have not known the answers. We only asked her things like what did certain things in the report mean, if certain things in there were common or were serious issues, etc. She finally told me that if I had any more questions I should “Google it.” We then left, just as confused and worried as before. After a few days of finding nothing relatable on Google, I called them back to make an appointment with Dr.
so he himself could explain things. The office told me that they could only make an appointment with the nurse again. I insisted that I wanted to see Dr.
, told them that the nurse was not helpful, and that I was very concerned. They again told me that they couldn’t make an appointment with the doctor and I could only see the same nurse. It seems that a patient can only see Dr.
once during the initial visit, and then never again. I do not recommend
or Dr.

He has a good bedside manner and communicates well with me. He is concerned and cares about me. He is personable and a very sensitive person. It is a bit difficult to get to see him as he is very busy. His office environment is nice and clean.

My experience with her has been excellent. She takes time with me. You feel like you deal with her more than you deal with her staff. It's usually opposite. Her staff is nice. The whole experience is very pleasant.

On the day of my scheduled appointment, the appointment was canceled due to illness of the doctor. The necessity for cancellation happened at noon. My appointment was at 3:30 PM. Although I was at work all day and the office staff had my work telephone #, I received no call from them and showed up at 3:30 for my appointment. The receptionist claimed that she left a message on my home phone and did not get an answer at my office. I did not believe the part about calling the office and asked to speak to the office manager (

Gage). When she came out she was defensive and angry at me for being upset. I tried to explain to her why there could have been no excuse for not reaching me at the office during the 3 hours before my appointment but she just got angrier. I felt totally de-valued as a patient. As an office manager her function would seem to be to diffuse my anger with a calm statement of apology and a promise to take steps to prevent this from happening again to me or any other patient. When I got home, I found a message on my home phone which was useless for a same day cancellation. I checked with the answering service at our office for any messages left during the lunch hour and there were none. The bottom line is that there was only a half-hearted attempt to reach me so that I would not waste my time coming to see a doctor who wasn't there and there was not one shred of remorse expressed for this lack of consideration. This is especially true of the office manager- her "I'm sorries" were uttered through clinched teeth and she acted as though it was my fault for even expressing my dissatisfaction. I am an office manager in a physician's office myself and I know what is expected of the office staff when unavoidable adverse situations happen (like having to cancel an afternoon schedule). The office should go into high gear to prevent those patients from showing up needlessly, and if one does slip through the cracks (like me), the office staff and especially the office manager should not cover up or make excuses but admit the mistake and offer a sincere apology. This did not happen yesterday. An office staff can make or break a medical practice; this staff is working on breaking their employer's practice.

Every time I go for an MRI or visit with Dr

, the amount of time spent in the waiting room is not long and easy to find my way. Valet parking is also nice (and free).

will spend as much time as needed with me if I have questions. He is very knowledgeable and I have learned a lot. Two problems I have is how long it takes to get an appointment and response time to my phone calls. On average, I have to wait at least 3 months before I can get in to see him. Also, if I have any immediate questions, I can contact his nurse (3 different people in the last 5 years by the way). Her response time may be a day or two, though. This is not good if I have some serious questions.
