"The u-verse TV cable installation was faulty. As soon as I noticed it (about 15 minutes), I tried to contact the installer at the phone number he had provided. The number was a mail-box that has not been set up, so I have no way to reach him.
I have tried to contact someone else at AT&T, but no one there seems to be the least bit interested in the problem."

"Cable, phone, and Internet all went out. Called multiple times, lots of discussions with supervisors. Kept getting told someone would be out, someone had come out, a fix is in progress, they weren't sure if someone had fixed the outside line or not, etc, etc. After 5 days without service, it finally got fixed. I canceled service and went with another provider."

When I asked for the codes to move the site to another company that could repair their mistakes,
held the codes “hostage” unless I signed away my right to
them. I am now

BREACH OF CONTRACT
BREACH OF IMPLIED COVENANT OF GOOD FAITH AND FAIR DEALING

"Our Internet service constantly goes out. When you call customer service about anything, settle in and prepare to spend at least an hour on the phone. Also be prepared to have them mess up your bill every few months, and then expect to spend hours of your time on the phone with them so that they can fix THEIR mistake. "I was trying to bundle. Already had ATT Internet and phone. The first tech had no clue what to do... Wanted to run wires under carpet and around door frames. Four hours wasted. The second day the tech got service to the door but with multiple holes in the roof and left the wiring dangling like I don't even know what (would love to post a pic of ...more it). 8 more hours wasted. Third day another guy came and got two of four TVs working and tv and Internet. Eight more hours wasted and this had been going on over a 3 week period of time as I am gainfully employed and had to use vacation days for what they initially promised me would be a 2-4 hour installation. So move on to 7/4 a month after training to switch service..... All access stopped suddenly. When I call the ATT I have no old account nor do I have a new account or an order number.... No one to help. Got a hold of installation manager after two days of calls....a fourth guy showed up said it was the outside box and he'd be back "tomorrow" to finish the work. That was Tuesday... It's end of day Thursday and no call, no answer, no person, no service. I don't have an account number or any way for the bright intelligent folks on the 800 number to look anything up. I lost my long standing home number (which I take "call" from home...need same number for hospitals to call...) and lost my email address without being able to transfer emails over. AND STILL NO TV NO INTERNET NO PHONE AND NO ONE THAT GIVES A CRAP. if you really need your home number and Internet access for your business DO NOT USE ATT. "

It did take about 4 days after ordering service for an available installation appointment. The appointment was set up around my work schedule and was started and completed in a timely manner allowing me to make it to work on time.
They use some standard equipment, so I recieved a "free upgrade" to my basic TV service and hardware so that it includes a wireless internet router and additional channels (free for the first 12 months).
I'm still waiting on a "bonus" gift card they send out as a promotion, but I expect it to arrive in the next few weeks.
When checking my old DSL account I suspect they may not have automatically closed the DSL account when I upgraded; I cancelled the automatic payment on that account and am now waiting for the next statement to see if they have it all straightened out.

The Internet service has been dropping my connection several times a day and this has not been fixed despite my calls.
"U-verse service is expensive when you add up all the "bundled services". I get just about everything; Phone, Internet, TV with all the channels and on-demand. I pay about $260/month on average. Yesterday, while watching the SuperBowl, all my services, TV, Phone, and Internet went out 6 times for several minutes (5-15 minutes) each time. ...more Called AT&T and they said they could send someone out next day to inspect lines inside the house. I told them that it was likely an issue with the capacity of their lines/service. It was maxed out due to the high viewership of the game. (I am an IT person with 20+ years in business) They did not want to hear that because they have some guarantees when it comes to that sort of thing. They argued (incorrectly) that it was probably an issue with the wiring. They wanted to actually charge me to come out and inspect the lines in my house that they installed less than a year ago! I said no thanks and then they offered to "check it" for free to
that out. Then they would inspect the outside lines. What a bunch of crap!
Bottom line is, I have now gone through them all; Comcast, Dish, Direct and now U-Verse (Verizon is not available in my area). None are great, all are expensive. I guess U-Verse is the best one so far. I'll continue until someone comes up with a better offer.
