"This is a slick business.

was polite and professional. He called ahead to explain he would be a little late...that was OK with us. He showed up in the
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
van. We briefly discussed what we wanted to have done, and walked around the house to get an accurate count of supplies and returns to be cleaned. He explained how the service would be done. Then his 2 man crew showed up and began their work cleaning the vents and ducts.

looked around the house some more and inspected the attic as well. Eventually it was discovered that several of the registers in my home were rusting or moldy. I'm not surprised about this, because my home was built in the 1970s, and the registers are probably original.
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
recommends I replace these old rusting/moldy registers with plastic registers from Lowes or HD, because plastic doesn't rust or support mold. That makes sense to me. His crew places all of the dirty metal registers in a contractor bag for me to dispose of myself. Then we sit and discuss

's point by point recommendations from his energy audit. This part was informative, and told me several things I can have done to lower my electric bill (more insulation in attic/increase atiic ventilation/caulking/radiant

/resealing the air handler...etc)
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
provided a written estimate of the services he could do, and the amount he would charge for each of those services. All of this took 2 hours 15 mins from entry to exit. The crew worked very quickly. Overall I thought the service was expensive. I checked Lowes and HD for new plastic registers to replace my old ones, and discover that Lowes and HD don't sell plastic registers. This is frustrating....
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
told me they did! I purchase all new aluminum registers for $100, and now I get to spend my weekend re-installing new aluminum registers myself. I would have been a happier customer if
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
's crew had done this for me at cost. But
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
and his crew were obviously very busy...his cell phone rang repeatedly during his visit with me. So after the visit,
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
and the crew were on to the next job. I can't tell if the air in my home is any cleaner or not. I am not a major allergy sufferer. Maybe my family appreciates the service...I don't think it was worth it.

is a extremely meticulous individual and very thorough.   He did an excellent job on my home inspection and was able catch many things that another home inspector (who did the same property 3 weeks before) completely missed.   You will not regret going with
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
- this experience alone makes up for my angie's list membership fee. "

What is included in a home inspection report?

When you hire a home inspector, make sure to obtain a copy of the pre-inspection contract so you know what’s taking place. (Photo courtesy of Angie’s List member Scott R. of Edmond, Okla.)

A professional home inspector should provide clients with certain written documents. The contract before the inspection and the final written inspection report protect both the inspector and the client.

worked well with our schedule, which changed quite a few times before the inspection date. He was always quick to answer the phone or return calls and also answered every email promptly. His inspection report far exceeded my expectations. Very detailed photos and analysis of the property was included in the inspection report, which was provided within 24 hours of the inspection. On-site, we conducted a walk through of the property, during which he took the extra time/effort to reexamine a few areas of the home. We can thank Angie's list for providing this contact to us, and we will not hesitate calling

"I was very pleased. He noted items which were already on our builder's punch list but caught a few important items (such as the need for installing a pressure reducing valve and expansion tank) which we'd missed. It was helpful and worth the money to have another set of eyes checking out our newly constructed home. The only category I did not give an "A" to was punctuality because Mr.
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
was significantly late to our appointment. However, I appreciated that he called to let me know that he was running late, and to apprise me of his status, and was appropriately apologetic about the delay. I do recommend this company.

was recommended in Angie's and also by my realtor. Inspector showed up promptly, spent a significant amount of time during the process and created a well documented report which included pictures. No major issues were found and the findings were used to create a punch list for the builder to correct. However, even after the inspection I found a number of issues that the inspector missed and was able to add to the punchlist to have the builder correct, for example the builder agreed to replace all the paneling in the study as it was bubbling and the finish was coming off. Something not found in the inspection and was corrected. I have subsequently found issues with lack of insulation, HVAC problems, plumbing problems, and am occurring significant repair bills that should have been identified and corrected by the builder and instead I will spend presently over $3000 to correct issues due to poor quality subcontractor work on my new home that I would have expected to have been captured during an inspection. I have only been in the house for 1 week and find new issues virtually every day. Not what I would have expected from a top rated Angie's List company."

did an outstanding job. He has a thorough knowledge of building code requirements and industry standards. He caught big and small problems. He provided the experienced eyes and ears for a project as to which we had no background. Thanks to him, we avoided building a home that would be woefully inadequate. He is also a pleasure to deal with. He returns calls promptly and makes himself available to help as needed. A good advocate for the consumer."

"Very professional, answering home buyers questions as he inspected. He was prompt and thorough, spending 3 - 4 hours in the house. The resulting report was prompt."

Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
was extremely thorough, discussed with me the high points of recommended/necessary repairs for almost 40 minutes, and submitted a very detailed 75 page report with lots of pictures of the items needing to be addressed.

comes across as a crusty old codger, but the man knows his stuff. He can give you the building codes from the 1950s through today. When you are putting hundreds of thousands of dollars into an investment, it's best not to cut corners on this step. I appreciated the level of detail in his report and am going into this purchase with my eyes wide open. My current home that I am selling was inspected by another company that didn't seem to provide the same level of detail that I got from
Dallas Home Inspectors Provider Name Locked
report, so I am very with what I got for my money.
