Home Remodeling Reviews in Columbus

Very pleased with the work.
was our contractor. His team handled the demolition and preparation of the bathroom for a new shower, flooring, vanity and countertop. He recommended specific companies for the flooring, marble sides,
and countertop, shower door and vanity cabinets. He stayed in constant contact with us and was extremely responsive to any questions we had or scheduling conflicts. The workmanship is superb. We hired
again after he installed a brand new kitchen for us shortly after we purchased our current home. It's beautiful and the craftsmanship is excellent. We highly recommend

Rod was great. He repaired the dry wall in my utility closet so well you can't even tell there were holes there! I would highly recommend them.

I really enjoyed working with
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
. They were both professional, customer-oriented, and fun to be around.
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
is a perfectionist and I appreciated that because if he didn't like the way something turned-out the first time (not that that happened often), he didn't hesitate to make it right. He also went out of his way to keep us happy. Here's a quick story to illustrate that point: we were having our cupboards painted and the doors were going to be re-installed the day before I was having a small party (why I was having a party in the middle of a kitchen remodel is another story). When the doors showed-up, the color didn't quite match the cupboards. Obviously they were going to need to be repainted. But rather than just taking the doors away again,
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
insisted on installing all of them so that my kitchen would look better for the party. Then he came back Monday, removed them all and had them repainted. There were a lot of doors with a lot of screws so this was no quick task! The whole project took a lot longer than expected but most of that was out of
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
's control. I appreciated that from a cost standpoint, he stayed true to his original estimate and didn't nickel and dime us for unexpected difficulties or small modifications we made. I highly recommend them!

Initially, there was some miscommunication regarding the time the service was to be provided. However, the quality of service provided more than made up for the initial miscommunication. The service was quickly done, very professional, and is 100X better than what I had.
I will definitely keep them in mind for any future needs.

We started working with
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
Gulacy of
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
in the summer of 2011. He did many small projects around our home and seemed to do them well and in a timely manner. In 2012 he painted our hallway and bedrooms, reset some of our recessed lighting and did all of our landscaping. In 2013 he replaced our water heater and installed a privacy fence around our backyard.
When we decided to renovate our bathroom it seemed like a no brainer to hire him. He estimated the job quickly and came back with a price we found to be reasonable. 15K would gut renovate our bathroom and fix plumbing issues we had with the tub since the day we moved into the house. We had explained that the entire point of the renovation was to not only to update the bathroom but most importantly to make the tub drain.
All of the estimating and job conversations were verbal and that was a big mistake.
The job began on December 2, 2013. I learned that second week after not hearing back from him that he had undergone surgery. I would not have elected to start the job then had I known this, but I let it slide because the man he had doing the work had been to our home before and we trusted him to be alone in our house. But the mistakes started pouring in.
The first big blunder was the placement of the can light over the tub. When I questioned it the worker said that
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
thought I might want to read in the tub. He had to redo the ceiling. Next, I had asked for 2 recessed shelves in the bathtub.
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
helped me come up with the design. When I came home from work there was only one shelf. The tile that I had special ordered was laid haphazardly and had to be ripped out and replaced. In all of these instances
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
admitted to not
communicating with his worker and the repairs were done in a couple of days each so the time added up.
As he recovered and we got deeper into the winter, he was not responsive to me. I was only communicating with the worker for most of the job. The worker did fix a lot of the mistakes but there were a lot of mistakes. When
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
would show up he would complain about how busy he was on other projects - not mine.
As we got into March we were extremely frustrated that a job estimated to take 4 - 5 weeks was still dragging on. He came over to collect his final payment and we tested the tub. The plumbing had not been fixed and the water poured into my basement. He blamed the worker and had a plumber come over to make the repair. The plumber charged me $400 dollars to unclog the tub drain. This should never have been an additional expense as his was hired to fix the plumbing issues from the
beginning. On his last visit here, I was home alone with my 1 year old. I told him that I was concerned about what he was going to charge us since the job had taken so long and there were so many additional repairs. I continued to question why he had charged me additionally for the plumbing. He threw a temper tantrum in the middle of my kitchen and stormed out of my house, then stormed back in and continued to yell at me. I was horrified.
When we asked for the final bill he failed to deduct for the materials that he had me purchase (as he was too busy), and left off 2 of our previous deposits that he had already cashed. When my husband questioned the bill, his wife responded that she would take off the amount that we had already paid but that the materials in question (the bathroom mirror and the paint) were not included in our estimate. Our estimate was verbal so it is his word against mine. I was told the entire project would cost 15K and that would include materials (like the mirror and paint).
In the weeks following the job we needed several repairs which kept us from even using the bathroom and hired other companies to help us since we were so upset with how he treated me. We emailed him in June to tell him of some of the damages that we had covered but that we needed him to cover 2 of the larger problems. We invited him back to see some of the work that needed to be completely redone before having them repaired but we never heard back from him.
We are so upset that someone we trusted and paid a lot of money to would cause so much damage to our house and be so careless about it. Our fence ended up covered in stains from the wrong nails being used and some of the planks are cracked from poor installation. Neither of the two gates work. We have had to repair many large pieces of the bathroom that were not installed properly. We were hoping that he would take responsibility to make things right and he has not. We are heartbroken about the damages he made to our house. Some of the damages we cannot afford to fix but our checks cleared.

It went very well overall.
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was very responsive and we were able to set up an appointment with
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
on a Sat. morning. He was exactly on time (same with follow up appointments) and was a pleasure to discuss the job with him. We immediately got a feeling of trust. After some misunderstandings on a few details (almost everything was handled efficiently through email) we signed a contract and then
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
took over. I would estimate that overall it took them about two weeks to do the complete job, including taking care of a few
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
ends at the completion of the job. They also subcontracted a concrete company to take care of a sagging concrete slab that was under the old shed and that we were able to reutilize. They left the site very clean for a construction job.
We were a little disappointed that they did not provide warranty on their work, but we were told they don't do that on exterior structures like sheds and that may be an industry standard. However,
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
told us (i.e. verbally) that he would be available for minor repairs due to construction faults, if necessary, during the first 12 months. The only other minor complaint we would have is that
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was a little pushy to get the payment, and I had to ask for an invoice (she was expecting me to hand the check to the last worker on site), but I would say that is just a matter of form. Perhaps a better way to handle payment would be to invoice a customer with a "payment due" date, rather than expect a check immediately as soon as the last itty bit of work has been completed.
Bottom line, we are quite satisfied with the final product and the relationship with
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked

For this recent "repair" we had some issues with the start/finish time, BUT this repair was not their usual job and they were fitting us in between bigger jobs as a service to a former customer. They had originally provided exceptional service with the addition back in 2001. Big jobs, like the addition, are their specialty. They were punctual, courteous, thorough, and became members of the family. When you do a remodel like this, you want someone that you feel comfortable with.
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
was the right choice! This addition was in 2001, but we have maintained a good working relationship with
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
ever since! Good honest company and the owner,

, and his right-hand man,
Columbus Remodeling Contractors Provider Name Locked
Lindemon, are top-notch! Can't say enough good things about this company.

Went well. Did what we asked for a great price. When other contractor did a no show, no call, disappearing act, this company filled in and did exceptional work.
- Cierra G.

Our work relationship went well at first, two week in he was paid in full with only a small amount to finish and he never showed back to work. He left tools on the job and wouldn't return phone calls. First it was his dad died, his dog died, and now possibly in jail. He is unreliable and a fraud. His work was good but, then he disappeared. He came with drama. Someone broke into his car while working and we he didn't want us to file a police report. Then he went to jail for sure while working on our project. Beware.
